  1. It's like poetry, it rhymes!
  2. Oh, huh. Now I feel dense for not making the connection between Heritage Hill and Athkatla's Graveyard District. I'm also kind of sad now that HH has no equivalent of that guy who willed himself to life out of sheer indignation at the cheap funeral he's been given by his family. I chuckle like a dumbass every time I think about that encounter.
  3. If I remember correctly, they were basically relays redirecting all the souls across the land to the master machine in Sun-in-Shadow.
  4. Honestly, I've always been under the impression that "The Defiant" was a Star Trek reference more than anything else.
  5. All jokes aside, I loved that game back in the day. Buying upgrades for the pods was so much fun.
  6. Sounds more like a new Butthole Surfers album to me.
  7. Are you saying that Chris is some sort of a champion of "the angry people" in this equation? Because I don't get that vibe at all. If anything, I'd say that's a very skewed and somewhat dishonest reading of the whole kerfluffle.
  8. Wait, are you saying... Gandalf wasn't gay?! I've been horribly misinterpreting his relationship with the hobbits.
  9. Isn't that a feature of godlikes? It was like that in PoE 1 too.
  10. As of the last backer beta, there are 6 Female and 3 Male Orlan player portrait sets. Potentially more to follow since the male sets don't look like they're fully populated. Thank you! That's extremely cool to hear.
  11. The man doesn't seem to be having any trouble finding work, though. Right now, though, he's on a good course towards expending all the remaining goodwill he's accumulated over the years and ending up being the Dennis Rodman of RPGs. Also this.
  12. Since this is the portrait thread, and I have no idea where else to ask (I'm sorry!)... I've been curious about one thing, but I can't find confirmation anywhere: are we actually getting more than one orlan portrait this time around? Please say yes.
  13. And this is exactly the impression he gives off in private, too. You can even see that creeping into the various prelections he gives during video game developer conferences. Mind you, I love the guy as a writer. I'm not ashamed to say that he's one of my childhood heroes, but boy does he feel like a constant hot potato for the office - any office, really.
  14. This isn't a very good response to any argument, you know - regardless of merit. Nor does it engender any sympathy from whomever it is you're trying to convince.
  15. This sword says sexy things back. Ugh. Before or after its created gore spattered holes in people?Very creepy. Well, to be fair, Lilarcor could sometimes be creepy too. Like, screaming YEAH!!! HIT IT AGAIN!!! right after the sex scene with Jaheira. I'm mostly sure these are unrelated events, though. I hope.
  16. Boy, was the topic title a rollercoaster of emotions. I'm looking forward to it! I'm positive I will enjoy it regardless of classic Obsidian flaws (mostly bugs). In fact, the only reservation I have right now is that David Warner ended up not being in the game, but eh. That's just minor nostalgia talking. EDIT: Just noticed the tags. Lol.
  17. I suppose something about the cut of your story and the fact that you had chosen to end it with the phrase “good talk” reminded me of Gromnir. But yeah, I’m not really endorsing explosive diarrheas as fun experiences in any shape, way, or form.
  18. How do you find the PSP port of P3? I have a weird relationship with it. I love the base PS2 game, but I've known at least one person to get turned away from the otherwise great game because of the concessions they had to make for PSP.
  19. Wasn't Enserric one-handed, too? I vaguely remember him changing shape depending on dialogue options, but I'm fifty one percent sure he started out in the most popular format ever. You should have signed off with "HA! Good Fun!".
  20. Finally! A man after my own heart! Accept a virtual kiss on the forehead.
  21. What if you've been in a coma for many years and this is all a dream about a game you never actually played? Somewhere in the world right now, Michael Kirkbride is getting inexplicably aroused.
