  1. The Twin Elms Inn is the most pretty to see imho, only by seeing the screenshot i wanna have a beer there, very gj by designers
  2. expansion could add a snowy area, and i'm pretty sure it will do it
  3. Wtf man u're so cold, i guess the witcher avatar doesn't help :-D
  4. I know, waiting 'till release is a pain. So, a little bet on how many taverns we'll have in the final game. I think about 7 (4 of them were showed on screens\vids). What u think?
  5. I wanna know if there is another village or somewhat populated not-wilderness area beaside Dyford village\Gilded vale and Defiance bay\Twin elms
  6. This kind of expansion enhance the singles, full, playthrougs, so i'm fine with that. It's worth for replaying
  7. Yeah! much better a more complete unique campaign than a new short one
  8. Was the prologue the one in which there was a sort of night camp with fire and many tents? Or it was just dark indoor instead of night outdoor?
  9. So, we have the 2 big cities: Defiance bay = colonial, modern architecture and lot of buildings, docks. Twin Elms = wilder, nature architecture (bit elf-style\viking), in the middle of the forest The villages Dyford: classic small village with couple of houses Gilded Vale: medium sized village with more houses and brown tones The Stronghold Large area with the main keep and megadungeon on lower levels, a secondary manor (for resting and other stuff) plus little houses nearby, maybe shops for when upgraded Raedric's Hold Isolated Gothic Castle, heavily guarded Do you remember any others?? Btw, areas look gorgeus, can't wait for exploring them, maybe in the middle of the night (and yeah, i LOVE cricket sounds)
  10. It would be really nice an expansion pack like Tales of the sword coast for Bg 1, who integrates new stuff on the main game rather than being standalone. Do u remember the tower of Durlag? it was awesome.
  11. If that's what he's saying he's comedically wrong. There's a bajillion Mario copy-cat games for Wii and other platforms. The vast majority of them generate ridiculously high sales. High sales? Like Mario games or less? Cause if less, i'm right, you're wrong. That's simple Btw i'm sorry for the OT. I won't answer anymore and i don't care to discuss anymore about it, sorry again.
  12. Chanter are best class if you want to create summoner Thank you. I remember i did lot of summoners when playing Baldur's Gate, it was nice and i just wanna do the same thing, after so many years :-P
  13. Nope. That's a chicken-egg argument. The Game sales is what caused the Mario character to become a house hold name, and what drove the SNES console to become so financially successful. My question is: what caused the game itself to be so popular in the first place? why did it appeal to so many gamers? Good god. Remind me not to hire you as my stock broker. 21st century News flash: Mario games are STILL being released, and STILL selling upwards of 20-30 million each. Good god. Maybe u need some drawing to understand basic concepts, cause u missed the whole point and trying to make sarcasm only confuses you more. Mario is STILL sellings mostly cause of BRAND NAME and because of FIDELITY to the trademark, gained over years of quality and marketing. I requote myself If Supermario was released nowadays it would be ignored cause of how saturated and almost complete is the videogame offer PS: u can add "as a fresh product" between the words "nowadays" and "it would". Maybe it's easier to understand
  14. Nice, i just read the description and i agree that psychic (or psionic, whatever) is the best alternative term to describe them. Thx mate PS: they seems interesting, maybe they'll have lot of charme\control power over enemies
  15. What is the mostly evocation based class? I mean to create lot of creatures (es. skeletons) who tanks for me. Chanters? Also, i can't find a proper translation for "Chipers" in my language, is there a synonim or a kinda-similar term to describe them? Just to have an idea
  16. Stop. WHY? Why is a simple, casual, very-little-thinking-involved game that appeals to the intellectual capacity of your typical grade school student the most successful franchise in Video Game history? Oh, that's right, because of all the the above. It's simple, there's very little thinking involved, and even the kiddies can master it. Yes, That was my point.... which you and Diogenes continue to miss. It was also because it was one of the first mass maket characters in videogames history and at the same time the pillar of the most succesful genre (platform) for his time. If Supermario was released nowadays it would be ignored cause of how saturated and almost complete is the videogame offer, that was my point.
  17. I was reading that shield spells for mages take a little amount of time to be effective and some kind of attacks (guns or fast spells) can rek them before they can cast a defence. I guess a couple of beefy warriors are needed as frontline Also, my english sucks, but i hope u understood
  18. Are you dense? Super Mario Brothers came out in the 80s.... sold 40 million copies. Sims came out at the same time as BG2.... sold 16 million copies, And it was also a PC exclusive. Hell, we don't even have to leave the elder scrolls. Morrowind came out less than 15 months after BG2.... sold 6 million. So I'll ask again: WHY? First example: most famous ip ever made and calculating over 20 years of time of potential sales...are u serious? Nice comparison Second example: best pc selling game of all time....Nice comparison Third Example: nice! 6 million copies. Oh, Skyrim, same kind of game but most recent, 20 million...today's market > 15 years ago market GJ man, nice comparisons, u demonstrated i was right, thank you mate
  19. Well Baldur's Gate 2 was a PC game based on a tabletop RPG that was released in 2000. Skyrim was a multiplatform game released over a decade later with a multimillion dollar marketing budget. Not to consider that videogames business\market now is a lot larger than 15 years ago, this means that an hypothetical Skyrim on 2000 would've sold no more than 2 millions copy
  20. Nice to read that. PoE is such an awesome game we are waiting for and the attention for little details is the final touch Gj guys
  21. Straw man. Summons are not characters; we are not discussing graphic technology; and the "coolness" or lack thereof is not the reason why I'm against the spell/chant being changed from how it currently is. Yeah, cause u saw a lot of summoners in your life you can say how they should be showed.
  22. Well, stop discuss. Disappearing characters are cool cause they bring that IE old flavour. Why don't make the whole game 8 bit, would be really much better, u know, old flavour
  23. Sarcasm man, sarcasm. Btw, if they will provide new animations for summoning, u can always go to options and run all settings to low, so we'll be both happy (us with animation and you without it)
  24. Yeah, u should ask them to let avaiable only 640x480 resolution and windows 98 o\s only compatible, cause u want things to be how they were in the IE games. Why don't u just buy original baldur's gate on gog and let others play a 2015 game
  25. well, in every place there is always one guy who try to feel himself special by going the opposite way, nothing new. However, we're not asking to create 40.000 new animations motion captured by the most expensive hollywood actors, we're just asking to reuse a simple death animation or fadeout, or whatever. Little work needed = all happy = worth it
