Playing the original Total Annihilation. I think I was eight years old the last time I played this. It works surprisingly well on newer computers but the gameplay hasn't really aged too well. Still awesome though.

I am seriously worried about this thing falling off. That little plastic bit and a screw aren't going to keep such a monster in place.

The dialogue is very fast, but my main problem is that the subtitles look awful. It's just small parts of a big sentence quickly flashing by and that's just not very handy.

The problem with said shelters is you never really know when the apocalypse hits so they just become a pain to keep clean and organized.

This is mostly true here as well. Birthdays just get used as excuses to go out and party/get drunk. Sounds lame, but it sure beats a birthday cake and people singing "Happy Birthday". As for Calax... how old are you anyway? By the way you're describing it, it sounds like I'd have already fled to some other state if I was in your situation.
