I've played a lot of Star Wars games and it's hard to picture one worse than Force Commander. At least with most SW games if the gameplay fails they usually have some nice graphics that make you feel you're watching a SW movie but FC was just an ugly game with awful controls, a terrible in-game camera and (iirc) a metal remix of the imperial march as the menu music. Terrible.

I remember when EA was a fine publishing house and the name 'Electronic Arts' actually meant something. Now good games seem to happen despite EA's involvement rather than because of it, and there's too much money being spent on derivative drivvle. Anyway, I've always wanted to play RA2 so I might be picking this up.

The upgraded GDI towers looked a little funny too. Is the C&C collection worth buying? It seems to be getting a lukewarm reception on most of the sites I've seen.

It's not a problem unless Enoch wants one, I ordered the XFX card so if it's no good I'm screwed. I was just looking for something to tide me over until I can raise the funds for an all new PC. I should really have taken this topic to a hardware site but I trust you guys.

To complicate matters, I've just realised I don't have a DVI connection on my monitor, just a bog-standard one like PCs have had for decades (what are these called?). Looks like I may have to compromise a bit on this. I've cancelled the card I had ordered.

Same. I'm such a games wh0re. I collect all these fantastic games, leave them for months then play them for a couple of hours, usually find myself enjoying them immensely then for some unfathomable reason (usually RL or forum-hounding interjects) I leave them until I've lost interest and go back to shooting people in CS. Don't end up like me kids!

Don't worry, it'll be nice and stable by the time you can afford to upgrade and there'll be plenty of mods available.

What's with all the plasma guns? Is green fire realistic? Ostfront looks very promising, if it gets decent reviews on release I'll be getting it pretty soon.

4 Gigs of RAM seems a little excessive to me, but I guess it won't break the bank.

W-O-W This game may make all those Sim expansion packs worthwhile.

I wish they'd release an infinity compilation in the UK, having everything on DVDs would be nice.

20 bucks seems a little overpriced for 5 hours to me, HL: Source isn't much to sing about either but I'm sure I'll be coughing up the beans on release.

I think FO3 is going to be fun as long as Bethesda change their style and give the dialogue a bit of life and humour. It's just not going to have turn-based combat, which is a bit of a shame, but if they can work in some stat-based FPS gameplay in a positive way I'll be there for sure.

Maybe the RTS controls are going to be like the way you would control multiple characters in the infinity games ie dragging a box around your characters and right clicking on an opponent. It was always said that the BG games had a lot in common with RTSs.
