  1. Looks pretty sweet. Hopefully there'll be as big a variety of units as it would seem from this trailer. I like the look of the troop dropships and the amphibious vehicles.
  2. Click here for ScummVM goodness If she's computer literate or has someone to help set it up ScummVM is the best way to play LA adventures nowadays. She might like the Broken Sword games as they seem to appeal to women a little more but the LA games are more fun imo. Beneath a Steel Sky and Flight of the Amazon Queen can be legally downloaded from the ScummVM site.
  3. Some DVD players are hardier than others, my PC one seems to be pretty good at plowing through disc problems.
  4. I think the server is no more, it's name changed to something completely different.
  5. Ghostwises are out afaik.
  6. I keep my pillows stuffed with chocolate chip cookies.
  7. The complaints about not having the DM client in the box make precisely zero sense to me. Anyone who is playing multiplayer is going to have the latest version installed anyway. It just seems you want to have your cake and eat it, unless you're unhappy about the size of the download. Sure you can't install from the discs and bask in the glory of a fully realised retail product but that's something most people can live without.
  8. I thought you might have a sample area or something ready to go, although a NWN2 demo would be even better. I'm very close to re-installing NWN for a fix of D&D action, even if I didn't like the combat so much. If NWN2 brings back the tactical combat of the IE games I'll be a happy bunny.
  9. I'm going to preorder the limited edition, if the first reviews are diabolical I'll cancel. Can't see that happening though, I'm desperate for a D&D CRPG fix and it'd have to be pretty awful to keep me away. The feature list is pretty good anyway, Obs have exceeded my expectations so far.
  10. Out of curiosity, how long was the original NWN's OC? It took me a while as I remember, although 50% of it was pretty mindless and seemed like filler material. I'd still take a really good and replayable 20 hours over a drawn out, barely enjoyable 40.
  11. I was just kidding, I'll be preordering the limited edition if it's available in the UK.
  12. Hmmm...do I speak to you for the exp or just kill you now?
  13. There's a really long new vid you can download at http://www.e3coverage.com/ which includes the first footage of changing heightmaps in the toolset and changing critter sizes ets. It's pretty grainy and hard to make out in places but it's one of the better demos I've seen. The snow effect looks really cool, I love that all this stuff is generated from the VFX tools. You don't need to register to download it's just a direct link http://www.e3coverage.com/videos/E32006day...nternights2.zip
  14. I'm pretty sure you can play the campaign in MP, and you don't need the DM client to do so with any module AFAIK, unless you need a live DM there.
  15. Nathaniel Chapman posted this over at the Bio boards in response to Gromnir He seems pretty convincing, though I guess I'm still skeptical but I certainly feel a little better about the OC prospects now. The whole thread is here http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/viewt...480875&forum=95
  16. If you have a membership you can download a high-res version. It looks a bit better, you can read the dialogue text (something about a village being invaded by creatures and you having to go and rouse the militia) but it's still not as good as the ign videos by a long way.
  17. I bet you a gazillion dollars the DM client will be released, it's as good as part of the game.
  18. I've never whined about a rushed game in my life. I look on it as a bonus that things usually get fixed in games. If you buy a movie no amount of whining is going to get the director to reshoot a number of scenes that didn't work.
  19. Fine, I'll be playing a LG Paladin with an unidentified hammer tomorrow!
  20. NO, NO... We need extensive longtime support after release... As long as it only fixes SP-issues ofcourse and does not fix/alter anything with the other stuff like DM client or Toolkit " Because then all get what they want and none get their priviledges in expense of the other group? It's like starting a match of BF2 and let one team start with aimbots and wallhacks and then remove them when 3/4 is played... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, the game isn't going to survive long without a DM client anyway so I don't think it's a huge issue. But the DM client relies on the OC (until some decent modules are made), the OC doesn't rely on anything so why not release it and the tools when they're ready? I guess what I'm trying to say is that the game is going to come out this way like it or not so you might as well be content with the OC + toolset for a month or two. Sure, it's selfish but I'll be pretty happy with it...I don't have any friends to MP with anyway.
  21. What's the difference between that and holding the release of the SP campaign off till the DM Client is ready? Nothing is being scrapped, it's all going to be released and I for one would rather have the majority of the game in september then the rest in the coming months than wait for the whole period with nothing.
  22. But the single player (and module building) experience will be completely unaffected by the non-inclusion of the DM client. It's not as black & white as you make it sound, you can enjoy one area of the game without having the other one there. Are you planning on playing the OC whilst building modules whilst DMing MP games whilst playing the piano with your toes?
  23. Ehh not really. Anyone looking for a single player game won't even notice the difference. The toolset will be there for module builders so they wont need to complain about not having the tools. The DM client will be released in time I assume since Atari will be financing patches whereas Lucasarts weren't too bothered about KotOR2. Would you detractors really rather having none of the game until the DM client is ready than having the SP game plus toolset untill it's good to go?
  24. I hope they release the limited edition in the UK.
