  1. Steve, given your current location Geographically, have there been any changes given that Iraq decended into a full scale anarky/civil war? Also: welcome back, haven't seen you in a while.
  2. Sony will still give it another shot in about 5 or 6 years when the next generation of consoles comes again. SCEA is publishing, not actually designing and making games (to my knowledge) and the fact that Sony is so big that it can afford to take a loss on the PS3 to see if their gambit works means that when another generation comes to pass they'll still be in the running (they just swapped spots with nintendo for this generational transition)
  3. that's not for here... there is a thread in the devs corner around that though As to the 360 vs wii vs ps3, I must ask which december are we counting for the Box and, the fact that the wii wasn't getting out of factories fast enough (selling an entire shipment of wiis in 30- minutes AND having a line to get the wii for two or three days before hand for two months strait proves this). the 360 has little to show for it's year long exsistance, it JUST got Gears, and the only other thing that's exclusive and is considered a "must have" is dead rising. otherwise everything else is generally considered somthing that might be interesting but isn't a killer app, or complete crap, or is a port from another console. Oblivion was on the 360 but it also could be played with better support and other goodies on the PC. As of now, I'm guessing that ULTIMATLY the ps3 will outsell the 360 by virtue of the fact that in order to get the japanese market Microsoft would have to practically hand them each an Xbox and a copy of the game of their choice. If sony was nicer to their consumer they might have gotten a bit more sales (the system breaking down will generally result in sony telling you it was your fault it broke, the Blu-ray thing, and the fact that SUPPOSEDLY they would try to write games to the consoles so that the game couldn't be used on another ps3 (note: this is hearsay)) and generally I've seen some of my coworkers at gamestop try and discourage people from buying the PS3 right now because of it's technical mishaps and problems.
  4. US or UN? US never sent any inspectors except as part of the group from the UN. and I think that any leader would act similar to saddam when told "Open up that armory that's supposed to contain high level research projects." Imagine some random squad of guys from arabia showing up at the front door of the NSA and demanding entry because we might be housing biological weapons in the basement.
  5. to be technical Mugen is a bandit and Jin is a Ronin.
  6. On my old computer I used a wireless keyboard. Sometimes, when I put on headphones on, they would pick up the signal, a high-pitched, "beep beeeeep beep beep beeep," whenever I typed something. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sounds like what happens when certain cell phones get near a set of speakers... I used to be able to tell when I was getting a call before it rang because my speakers would go nuts before the ringer was activated.
  7. so they found the remains of his old stockpile of germ warfare equipment from the Iraq Iran war... It's not like we weren't expecting that. What we didn't find was the Anthrax we were promised or the Nukes.
  8. no offence... but Ultimate Avengers was too much of a kiddie version of Ultimates Vol 1. Ultimate Avengers two went off the map in terms of screwyness. I'd feel better if it were under bruce timms leadership.
  9. use slow towers
  10. Thats not what I was lead to believe by our beloved government... They INSISTED that Iraq was connected to Al Queda and that going into Iraq was another way to keep WMD's out of terrorist hands. Then the reneged on Al Queda and have failed to find any trace of the WMD's since we've been there.
  11. and with the amount of canadian money that is accepted in the US as legit it's surprising. I am not kidding you... go up to Canada, make change for a couple of dollars, and start slipping them into your change when you pay for somthing. You'd be surprised how many people accept them, I've gotten several from rolls that were made by the bank. Other forms of currency that are similar to the US coin are used (I got one that looks almost russian back has a giant five and the word KO(II)EEK the II is connected at the top.)
  12. I personally fail to see how the collapse of two towers with a death toll of 3 odd thousand, could the death of... How many servicemen and civilians? AND the toppeling of not one but TWO governments. (yes meta... I suck when it comes to grammer, get over it)
  13. mass ROBBER plants? guys with uzi's and ski masks are grown there?
  14. on that note... it would appear that weather it helps or not 21k people will be headed over there to make an attempt.
  15. thats the one where in the sequel the unwilling assassin becomes the leader of the gang, marries the girl, and during fights will strip for some unknown reason. Probably to get the chick he's fighting to stare.
  16. you killed captain america? :'(
  17. if that's true than we all should do our best to get on like a set of bunnies and couple until we die beacuse every single sperm you produce has the SAME possible future. As to terminally ill, We shoot horses to put 'em out of their misery don't we?
  18. it's not the main point of that plotline. And winde is right.
  19. psykers lightning. And attach commisars to your guards and during a fight ALWAYS execute.... it makes them push out alot more damage. For Ogryn squads attach priests.
  20. Gabe Newell thinks as you do; from a utilitarian pov, he thinks it is bonkers to invest loads of effort into a scene that some/a lot/most people would miss, or to miss a genuine emotional experience because it isn't on the critical path. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> CHEERS to the downfall of sandbox gaming. No offence but the GTA stuff only works in one setting... when they start making free form into a fps it's time to get scared. I have to wonder how GTA SA got such high ratings when you have to be an addict to find everything.
  21. the reason most people like it is because of what happens between the start and the end. And the character design. After all its not every day .
  22. ...
  23. Pretty much if you play it through once you've got most of the story. The only reason to play it seven times (each different campaign) is to learn the dialogue. But after playing it on normal, I have to say that by the end of the game, the basic provinces are much harder fights than the Strongholds. Dark Crusades major draw is the fact that it's mulitplayer is HUGE. A couple of the let downs in the Campaign: Playing a 1v1 on an eight person map. If you don't rush on the harder difficulties your screwed. If they attack your stronghold your screwed. All the strongholds will be the same no matter who you attack with (so the stronghold fight of Tau hitting the IG stronghold is the same as if marines attacked it.)
