they always do that jags... they show half a season during fall and usually show the second half in jan/feb. (I think) As to Galactica, the major reason I liked it in the pilot was the massive battle scene. From what I saw of the first season, They had ONE major battle and that was just a bait and switch to get fuel. Another thing that turns people off is the violence of it. I had sombody sitting next to me while watching the episode where starbuck was sent to interrogate the Psilon and she couldn't stand to watch it because of all the torture. SG1 I think has reached the end of it's life time. Atlantis might have a few more seasons but honestly it's kinda wierd that a group of humans can beat the snot out of a race that devoured the ancients (pre-acention)

Would quebec like some american states? PLEASE!? Admittedly I'd prefer it if Cali somehow secceded and dropped the US's economy like a wet paper bag. -
went back to playing Ace Combat's 5 and 0. I must say, in five seeing everyone singing "the journey begins" while following your flight group and trying to stop a nuclear attack that could wipe out half the major metropolitan areas one a continet, is kinda heart wrenching. Yes... I actually found myself getting choked up right before the last two levels.

I play both.

No, the majority would gain more power. The minority would lose more power. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> given how much powert the minority has, would this be a bad thing? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, because then you end up with a tyrannical society. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> is tyrrany of the majority or of the minority worse? Cause it feels like the public is at the mercy of the minority.

Rule 1 of buying books at college... use the internet. College bookstores will always gyp you on the price so you have to pay though the nose.

Correct We are a Representative Democracy <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never understood the point of the Electoral College. It seems kind of pointless. Why not make the decision of who wins directly through the number of votes each candidate gets? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> because (at least this is according to my high school gvmnt teacher) electoral college can give the itty bitty states a chance at changing things (ie: an election might actually hinge on rhode island). where as popular vote would have much less power to the itty bitty states.

America is not a democracy until the popular vote wins the day.

sigh... yet another reason to move to canada when I get a trade.

right now I think the general consensus is that we went into iraq half ****ed and found ourselves undermanned and in over our heads because Rummy wanted to have a fast attack team as our entire armed force and used iraq to prove it. It promptly failed miserably in the fact that if your going to take control of a country, you can't just be in and out, you have to be in with overwhelmign force and sit there for a while. Due to mismanagement by the leadership, we are now supposed to revere (or at least we were) all the people who died in 9/11 and in the Iraq war as saints who were the most patriotic of patriots. and in the early days of the "intervention" in iraq if you said that you didn't think that america or the other countries should be there, you were immediatly ostrasized. When things went bad immediatly the patriots went one of two ways. Either they flat out pulled a 180 and said we should back out immediatly, or they became even more patriotic and tried to get little timmy the third grader to have career aspirations as a gunny sargent in the marines. If Bush is going to order another attack (he probably won't but then again what does he have to loose? he can't run for another office and will be forgotten in 10 years) he'd have to reinstate the draft to come up with the manpower to keep three theatres of operation under control (if you can call Iraq "under control")

what about, say dave chapelle? His entire show is about racism. Every time you see a white person on that show it's using a horrible stereo type. The problem with society right now is that the minorities have such incredible power to walk all over those that have been "in power". I mean no offence to anyone but given the fact that I'm a white male I've got the least leeway in ANYTHING I say because if I say the wrong words to a woman I could get sued for Sexual harrasment. Or to just about anyone who's got any sort of mild ethnic backround/alternative lifestyle that's socially accepted. Hell in most commercials for a while you would see the main "funny" character who does stupid stuff was a middle aged white male who had a bit of a gut on him. the only reason that that particular character is the "funny" (read; but of every joke) is because when they make a complaint about being made fun of people say "What've you got to compain about? You don't have to deal with [racism/discrimination/sexim]" I'm not defending what he did, but do have an incredibly big double standard between what I can say and what a member of another culture/race/or gender can say. In highschool we were shown a video about harrassment and what you censorship and such. on it a guy got fired because he told a female coworker a joke that he heard on sienfeld. It was the episode where sienfeld can't remember his girlfriends name until the very end but knows it rhymes with a body part. The joke being that the name was dolores and the body part being her clitoris. The woman told the poor guy "oh" and left and the next day the guy was told to clean out his office because she had filed a sexual harrassment complaint with the company. We've also gotten to the point where we are defined by the most sensitive person. There is at least one chat system out there where cinderella can't prick her finger. (same video) anyway... Kramer can't call sombody who was talking and heckling him a derogitory term, but I can be called a cracker or any other number of derogitory terms (fishbelly...) in front of everyone because it's not considered racism and thus I can't be offended by it.

I got Atton to tell me about his past after I started to train him as a Sith Lord, A lot of bad things led his way, like killing jedi left and right, I can't remember a whole lot more...been a while since I have played kotor2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> that was during the Jedi civil war... AFTER the Mandalorian wars.

When was this? I only really noticed Bond fighting hand-to-hand starting with Goldeneye. In Casino Royale most of the fights were up close and personal, in the stairwell, in the truck (a pretty overt reference to Raiders of the Lost Ark, which was kind of funny), in the embassy and in the museum. He only uses his gun towards the end, he loses it in most other scenes. He pulled his Walther much more frequently in the older films. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well in golden eye you had the huge fight in the cradle's control center. Generally bond hasn't gotten his hand dirty which this bond really didn't mind. (I mean seriously... putting a guy in a choke hold and then pushing his face into a sink full of water in a mens room... isn't that overkill?) Also they didn't have the traditional scope intro. (cries)
