I can see the need for a subscription as they are also keeping a full development team working on the game to fix bugs, add new content and such. the way mmo's are right now you either need to have a fee or go the guild wars route and have expansions coming out every year or so.

B was working on the point that in highschool there is invariably some kid/cult/small religion of people who are emo goths with a mad on to die and love everything having to do with death. Said higher being would be working against it's own ends if it created life and made creatures evolve into a hardier creature. Christmas is more about santa than christ anymore. Halloween is a day that gives children the chance to dress up and get more cavities than they really need. Easter is an extremly religious holiday and we get I think a three day weekend or they match it with spring break. And the reason that christian dogma/beliefs/whathaveyou are not taught in school is because, quite simply, THEY THINK YOU ALREADY KNOW! you have no blasted clue how many classes where people were constantly referring to a couple of bible stories and I had no idea what on earth they were talking about. I think the arguement boils down to this, Either we have to make a completly sanitized environment with every thing devoid of any religious context and/or association (ha fat chance!) or we have to represent each and every single religion in equal amounts of time and effort and depth (again ha FAT CHANCE!)

right now Evolution has the most backup that it is happening/has happened. Intelligent design feels, at it's core, like the religious groups (mainly of the christian denomonations) are trying to say "Evolution happens but only because an imposible to prove force is acting upon the evolving creatures in ways we can't even begin to catagorize, understand and measure, so by golly it's gotta be happening!" I'm one of the more... antireligious types on this board and find it unappealing that people are trying to have Evolution turned into "God did it, by making you grow an 11th useless toe" And mothie, the exact reason that ID shouldn't be taught in schools is because ID requires the students to A) believe that there is a god B) believe that god is not death or some wierd gothy person who wants a variety of things, and C) the metaphysical part of ID has literally NO scientific back up other than "well we can't have evolved that without a reason... gotta be god." the study of religion is also a study of politics, it should be taught so that people can see motivation and understand what they other people in the world are trying to get you to believe. Religious study groups are generally not connected to the school in any official capacity other than using an empty classroom or the library. Christmas isn't even christs birthday so I'm not going into that. Halloween has been divorced from its religious origin except in the most.... obscure ways. Symbols you can get rid of... except say the swastika which when reversed is the bhuddist symbol for life. you could take the concept of planetscape and push it for an mmo (not planetscape itself... but mulitpule interconnected realities. Maybe have them at different points along a time line (so in one reality we've got sorcererors who toss fireballs and summon demons like no tommarow while in another you've got a techno magi calling down orbital bombardment on his opponents.) It'd be a nightmare to balance but it'd be interesting to see done. PST itself would probably make a pretty good MMO given that you could have an overall objective in the players mind. (like everyone fighting for the City of Doors so they can control all extra planer trade) start with four planes open, have those four be the primary factions and in the city you have other factions that you gain/loose influence with so that you can slowly take control. If this game was like City of heroes in that it had "zones" (you'd almost have to with the various planes) you could set it up so that between two city zones you have a conflict area that, if it gets taken by a certain side it gives them some sort of bonus. ... meh, who knows?

Recently? First time I saw that guy was when The Avengers wanted DD to join, he refused, and recommend echo. Half the group knew who that was. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ronin as the avenger just flat out showed up during the second arc. Cap asked DD to go with them to deal with the hand but DD said no, and then said he knew sombody who could. Only problem was that every indication was that it was just DD in another suit (especially when in the space between two panels Ronin got breasts for the reveal). Heck even the team thought so.

they refer to him/her as Ronin (everyone thought it was Daredevil because DD got outed as Matt Murdock). Freaking mansuit. I just love how big Cap and Iron Mans chests are.

dunno. i'm not sure anyone has the authority to really "fire" a VP, though i'm sure pressure from the party could easily result in a forced resignation. back in the early days, the VP was actually elected separately, which caused many issues. realistically, it does not matter. the VP is a figurehead only. he has zero official power. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> techically your wrong... in the early days the VP was the runner up in the populatiry contest we call presidential elections. :joy: I corrected Taks!

welll... two things caught my attention. My the local congressman was linked to the bribery scandal and thus this area has become a MASSIVE fight for the seat. So my phone has been ringing off the hook for political ads and such. Anyway One of the adds starts out listing what has come out that happened in the whole corruption thing about the congress men then states taht if you want to "join the fight" you go to "dolittlefacts.org" or somthing (dolittle being the congressman, ahh the irony of that name...). And the effect is completly ruined at the end as his opponent comes on and promptly says "I endorse this message" even though up to that point it seemed like the ENTIRE message was put up by "concerned citizens" The other thing thats odd is that there are general party ads by the republicans that are runnign. Basically it's somthing along the lines of "you like these six things? well vote republican and you can see them enforced... oh yeah I'm now going to knock everything off this here desk in the backround just for the hell of it!" Strikes me as if they are COMPLETLY desperate at that point if they run party ads rather than paying for candidates ads. Poles closed and the multimillionare of a governer in cali held his seat but it looks like the dems have taken the house. Edit: dolittle won... how long he stays there is up in the air if half of what is said about him is true.
