  1. the first one actually has a constant plot line. the others... get... random. the series culminates with his suicide and his replacement.
  2. actually baley is pretty much right on the money with the way sandman went.
  3. Suggestion... during a major series of combats try to keep a couple of Damage control ships near your primary formation so that you can keep severly damaged ones afloat longer.
  4. not gonna drop a sub or two to prevent an offshore attack on your Far East Front?
  5. well... you can overwatch reinforcements. (right click the little plus signs)
  6. think I should add that Relic doesn't have the rights to make another HW game. Those are owned by Vivendi at this time. Relic might try to re take them from Vivendi but I doubt thats on their mind And Company of Heroes and Dawn of War are two very differeng games. Company of heroes is about very small unit tactics while DOW is about armies saying SMASH to each other.
  7. sombody PLEASE upgrade our software!

sorry to burst your bubble but Obsidian hasn't been talked to at all about K3. Also we have several discussions about K3 going in the Star Wars Universe section of this board.
  9. just noticed somthing... Can you use land based arty in Austraila to hit New Guena? (or however it's spelled?)
  10. All I know is that the PS3 isn't selling much because of the price. (At my second job we literally ask people when we have a ps3 if they want it) Meanwhile the Wii sells out within 30 minutes of the shipment (same with controllers). I think Nintendo just won the Console war because of it's innovation. Xbox is currently leading over the PS3 only because the Box has more titles out for it (but only one or two 360 games are quality games currently) PS3 has Resistance as it's "killer App" at this point, only problem is nobody has the grand to drop on it.
  11. I liked Bushies stable iran... I mean iraq speach... But My favorite is Einstiens human stupidity. The two in my sig also come to mind. and Finially, "If your not with me, your against me" Jesus... (dig through my old posts... it's somewhere in there)
  12. It'd be a gambit but you could try to rebase a smallish task squad (primairly ASW and AA ships covering a Battleship or somthing) to the western side of the conflict zone. (easiest way would probably be to dodge south by austrailia then slip back north west. I don't exactly have your strategic map in front of me so I don't know what you are looking at but Having some sea power in the area that isn't on "strings" so to speak (ie on loan from the brits) is probably a good idea in the long run. By the way, do the russians actually do anything? or are they just sitting there?
  13. meh... the country he used to rule has decended into anarchy. Personally I'm not sure if we're better off with, or without him in charge.
  14. not really... just us noticing that Mortis doesen't like anything about a endless game.
  15. Ever think about having a fantastic AA ship park itself in a protected harbor that's under constant air attack? Also, Can you hit land with those big 'ol pop guns on your boats?
  16. Give into the hatred. Well, to be fair, the new wod does a few things better... like the new Nosferatu and some of the game mechanics... but the new "clans" reaaaaaaaaaally kill it for me. They should have streamlined the old game, rather than putting it all into a blender and then tossing it around the room. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> they should have streamlined the entire universe. I mean you can't have a maxed out Mage against a vampire against a demon. Vampire would be TOTALLY out classed, don't get me started on Hunter. If they had streamlined the series and gave ground rules for mixing the games (especially given they are set in the same universe) They would have sold a heck of alot more.
  17. Your shermans will be invincible when in smoke against StuG's. As for DC, it's a nut place. 7 races balanced (to a degree) against eachother. Single player is a bit stale after one race but multiplayer can be an interesting dish. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I love Dark Crusade, if not simply for the technological spin on undead. You think all my guys are dead? WRONG! And just to kick you when you're down, I'm jumping my base of ultimate destruction right into the middle of your base of sitting there and crying. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Only problem is that you're a slow start as the 'crons. If anyone hits your economy while your of fighting then your screwed because you either have to win with what you've got or try and pick up steam... again.
  18. I'm confuzzled... Mortis is advocating that games should not be judged based on their player base but on what they do. Ok agreed, but from the looks of it the game still holds up to the standards. I mean you don't exactly retain a very large player base over 2 years without having either A) a good game or B) subliminal mind control that's making people addicted without their even knowing it and causing them to think it's a very fun game. It should be noted that WoW's flaws are generally either A) player related or B) very hard to fix. The end lvl grind and the loss of content at 60 is a problem with EVERY game in the genre. Heck RPG's only get around it because they have a definitive end point. I mean you look at some of the Final Fantasies. They all have a VERY steep level jump at the end (between what the player had been fighting before and what is in the last dungon.) So the player is forced to either grind for loot, or grind for those extra levels. Usually he does the same and ends up finding some screwed up combo that makes him insanly powerful. (like W-Summon=Knights of the Round=W-Summon, Mimic, Mimic fires off about 12 Knights of the round summons in ONE turn.)

  20. Question from the 'nut gallery, Why not send a support ship?
  21. we would?
  22. I'd use my heat vision from orbit to burn the crap out of the suckers.
  23. It also makes Carnal Knowledge without a ball and chain a sin of epic proportions... thats a Bad Thing
  24. Yeah... next time your friend chainsaws a guy on coop look at him... the blood will actually splatter on the thin air to get the "drenched camera" effect.
  25. Homeworld and HW2 are the only games that got space battles kinda right. Empire at war mades for fun movie like battles. Haegamonia is all about eye candy (trust me... you terraform a planet on there and spend the next five minutes going "WHOA" at the graphics). GalCiv is an uberstrategy. MOO is Civilization in space.
