That was always wierd in the first series... Apollo gets married for three episodes before Iblis killes his wench.

The thing that will probably make me like this over CoH is because this doesn't have nearly as much micro to it. Instead its MASSIVE armies going after eachother while the others of the genre (that are good, don't get me wrong) generally have a turning point of "oh damn he lost that basic unit, he's going to loose the fight" or have you hitting sixty different buttons in thirty seconds in order to win a fight (For example in Company, in order to take down a tank with infantry you have to have them running in circles and throwing stickey bombs while either you wait for support or your running to try to get away from the tanks main cannon while hitting him with a panzerschrek/bazooka) Command and conquer is generally army v army rather than Squad v Squad.

Solo your speed falls straight through the floor, but when you have a buddy to play with things go MUCH faster.

Today I asked myself why I get probably the most depressing birthday in the world....

ever tried City of Heroes? you can get from one end of town to the other in under 30 minutes if you have the right powers. With a Mage you can travel to any friendly city in existence, then a 5 minute ride to whatever outpost you want. With a Warlock and two buddies, you can go from wherever you are to your buddies, wherever that is, in 30 seconds. Or you can just bug Warlocks in random locations for it. Sometimes they'll help you, I usually wouldn't. City of heroes has two things that make it so incredibly fast if you know sombody at your destination. 1) the train will transport you instantly to your location, you only need to wait 10 seconds to catch one and 2) recall friend, will summon anyone within your zone to your location at any time. No matter what (excepting a teleport inhibitor) My character (when he exsisted) would usually have flight along with recall friend (I did end up respeccing into Superjump) that would usually make me the first one to a location then just port everyone to my location.

Lets see... last I left they had just found kobol and Starbuck grabbed the arrow of apollo (end of season one) Even then I could see the series was dropping like a rock in terms of story. I think one of the major things that hurts the show is it's lack of actual warfare. Instead we get Drama (add an accent of any kind to that). I thought this was supposed to be a Scifi adventure series. It did produce a pretty cool poster about propoganda that my english teacher senior year in High school had.

Or people are just trying to explain that which they were unable to explain before. 90% of religion is based upon the fact that the World was created THIS way and will end THAT way. Also how many genuine Miracles have happened in the past 200 years? Or excorsisms for that matter. Another part of religion is that part of the human psyche almost requires you to think that there is some great beyond that will come and be your security blanket when you get killed or die via natural causes. Heaven, Allahs Promised land, Alesian Fields and so on. Others proclaim that you will always be running around in circles trying to get into heaven and every action has a consequence. The few who don't think there is some great beyond or hell or heaven or their many incarnations generally don't last beyond year 25 becuase they see life as a fruitless struggle before their inevitable death, so why not shorten the journey by a good 70 years. Your proclamation that religions all over the world exsist believeing in a divine being is like saying that everyone likes spagettii because everyone eats. Your god doesn't exsist JUST because people believe, He exists beacuse a certain person believed he did... And used a good publicist to get the word out. Belief in somthing out there doesn't necessairly mean that theres a god, just a capricious biologist who views this planet and its environs as a pitri dish to play in for his science fair project. My guess is that until science is able to prove how the universe was created and will end well enough that it's not shouted out of a church, we won't see the end of religion. However we will in the next few decades see religions power wane because people no longer believe in the abstracts they teach. Anywho, posting while calax is tired isn't generally conducive to my reasoning, so your'll probably have one of the other posters (taks, meta and grommie take particular delight in this) come along and disect my post and take every sliver of supposition and conjecture and turn it on its head until it looks like a dragon break dancing.
