Random Loot System....
Yeah! And whats with all these dialog choices? I'm not going to play through the game again tp see what happens if you choose different things! Just stupid...

Influence system, can it be modified for the PC?
I have been following KotOR2 for a long time(before its official announcement even). I absorbed everything the devs said about the influence system, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. It is more in-depth than any game I have played to-date.

my rant against kotr2 *spoilers*
It is because I requested the thread be moved Now then I assume you want spoilers about the Sith and their extra powers and why they were a threat? *Spoiler* */Spoiler*

my rant against kotr2 *spoilers*
It is evident to me that we played an entirely different game. In *my* version force wave was still the single most effective force power against hordes of foes. In *my* version the story holes which you point out above aren't holes, and I understood everything. In *my* version the product wasn't terrible, nor was the story bad. I suggest you go buy KotORII, or if you own it, try playing it again and not skiping through the dialogs.

my rant against kotr2 *spoilers*
Wow. Did you actually play the game? One thing I didn't pay attention to was the numerical timeline of the events. I believe the game took place sometime around 5 years after, but I tend to not pay attention to numeric dates, because if you do they often contradict one another. You aren't "chummy" with mandalorians. Mandalorians do not care that you beat them in the way you think. To them defeat is a part of battle. It teaches them their flaws and ways for them to improve themselves. The Mandalorians underestimated the jedi and learned that. They claim they won't make that mistake again. They revere battle prowess over everything else. Mandalore has seen jedi prowess first hand, and he knows they have great strength in battle. That is why they respect you enough not to slaughter you. You have oppurtunities to gain respect in the Mandalorian camp and learn of their culture better. The bounty is specifically for LIVING jedi. He wants you brought in so that he can force you to strengthen the republic. It is purposefully left open, I believe. A darksider wouldn't want to blow up Malachor V, necessarily. A darksider might want the power there. A lightsider would blow it up, more than likely. This is reflected in the side's endings. I must ask, again. Did you even play this game? Malachor V was the staging point of the final battle of the Mandalorian Wars. It was a "forbidden world" for the madalorian people. I don't want to go too far in-depth as to its story and importance. I assure you that it IS explained. You're wrong, they DO have special power. However that is not why they are different. This isn't the spoiler forum, nor the story forum, so I won't spoil it for everyone. *Rolleyes*

The imaginary space aliens count as minorities since about the same time you began playing in an imaginary space universe with imaginary human beings. How do I know they're not the majority? You mean besides the fact that it is star wars canon that humans are the dominant species? I suppose I don't.

Influence system, can it be modified for the PC?
No. Without spoiling it you can drastically change a few NPCs outlook on things. I'm not sure what you've been told. However I *HAVE* noticed a signifigant change in my play throughs. As I said, a person who wants to help people doesn't turn into a serial killer. They do however tolerate it when you kill a "bad guy" to save a beggar, rather than scaring them off. Games should emulate parts of real life, in my opinion, otherwise they're convuluted. That said, who says butchering a thug who is mugging someone else isn't evil? A failing of KotOR1, and one of the WORST plot devices ever used. I'll give you a semi-spoiler change in an NPCs attitude that I've encountered. Read it if you want. *Spoiler* */Spoiler*

Influence system, can it be modified for the PC?
I don't think you guys really understand what the light side/dark side are, and how the influence system works, if this is a problem. Take a step back and think about it for a second. Lets say Knight1 wants to save people. Normally Knight1 would applaud you for donating gold to poor or chasing off thugs who were mugging someone. Slowly, through your influence, they begin to slip to the darkside. They're not going to completely do a 180 and applaud you for aiding muggers then killing the muggers and taking the loot. It would be subtle, something like killing the muggers instead of just chasing them off. I have no problem with how the influence system works now. In life you could never, over the course of a few monthes, make someone shift in personality so much that they turn from a good sumaritan to a ruthless serial killer, or vice versa.

How Ironic
Honestly I have only had 1 in-battle slow down. I have had a few apparent pauses in dialogs, where the voices don't start automatically, or when I try to cycle through the dialog choices there is a 1 or 2 second pause before it moves down or up. Again this generally only happens in those marathon sessions. This isn't the ONLY reason, but it certainly is a contributing factor. Some factors have a lot of effect and have nothing to do with hardware configuration. If your PC or Xbox is getting hot or cold, it can have an adverse effect, for example.

*Chuckles* Not enough minorities? Yes, we certainly lacked our share of Twi'leks, Duros, Mandalorians, and every other species in KotOR2. I can think of several black NPCs which are featured in KotOR2. Captain Rihlsk on Onderon. The militiamen who wants moisture vaporators on Dantooine. The doctor on Peragus. The captain of the Harbinger(at least I think, been awhile since I watched the holovid). Those are all off the top of my head. Women? Kreia. Handmaiden. Visas. Atris. Handmaiden's sisters. Queen Talia. Doctor on Peragus - OMG a woman AND black?!?!? We don't know what race or species Nihilus is. As for the rest of your grievances. . . Profoundly uninteresting? If so, why do you seem to care that the mysteries weren't solved at the end? Aren't you happy that they abandoned the "profoundly uninteresting and convuluted" storyline in favor of a butcher shop? At anyrate, I can't think of any of the mysteries that went unanswered, except maybe, what happens to the force bond. Point of fighting Traya? If you're darkside it could be to takeover the universe, revenge, to learn the secrets of the academy. *Spoilers* */Spoilers*

How Ironic
I can tell you that its not a huge deal. You, strictly PC users seem to think there is a slow down every 10 minutes. I've played a total of 45+ hours in KotOR2. Number of blackscreens: 1 Number of in-battle slowdowns: 1 Number of in-battle pauses while the Xbox recomputes: 1 All of these happened in 10+ hour marathons, and all happened towards the end (actually they ended them because I realized I needed to do other things). The average is something like 1 every 15 hours, and it tends to only happen when I've been playing for extended periods of time. I would wager that on average there will be approximately the same amount of crashes for PC users. EDIT: I should add I played KotOR on both Xbox and PC and will play KotOR2 on both Xbox and PC. So no, I am not some fanboy of xbox.

V.I.P rings..
In addition to the search feature already doing this, a feature like this will lead to a lot of inter-board jealousy and people thinking that these "v.i.p." posters are somehow related to Obsidian. I can foresee a lot of instances where two people have a disagreement over something and the person who isn't a "v.i.p." saying "you just think you're special because of your "v.i.p." status." Secondly, who will decide who gets this status? Does it go to developers from other companies? Does that include their QA folks? Accountants? What about designers who recently left their company? Or people in college for game design? I said it before, I'll say it again, this feature isn't worth the effort, even though it may sound simple(creating a new user group and adding people to it). I know, I use this very forum software. The technical details aren't what would be the most difficult aspect.

"Your" lightsaber
Yes I've tried these options on my first time through as a Dark Sider. She simply mutters more nonsense, then turns her back on you and walks towards her Meditation Chamber while holding your Light Saber, still ignited. I'm going to try a few more 'Dialogue Runs' with Atris with my Light Sider and see if I get anywhere. - dr cloak <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The last handmaiden refers to the one who joins your party and she IS in the academy. You can tell which one is her because she is the only one called "Handmaiden" rather than "Handmaiden's sister."

Random Loot System....
I like random loot, it adds to replay value and when you DO finallt get unique or special items it is especially satisfying. Sorry, but going online and reading where to find the "cool" items isn't ever as satisfying as discovering them on your own. Then again I am probably one of a few who actually read the stories of EVERY item acquired in game.

Problems w/Bao Dur
There is a "semi-fix." Place the NPC that isn't responding in your party. Take control of it and have them talk to your character. I had the same problem and it is fairly frustrating. Doing this allows you to interact with them, but you can't do it on the Ebon Hawk. Well thats the best I have for you.

V.I.P rings..
Honestly, I think this is a bad idea. If you're interested in what J.E. Sawyer, or Dave Maldonado or some non-Obsidian Ent. poster has to say and wonder if he posted anything new today do a search using their username. Giving someone "V.I.P." status will lead to confusion, people will think they are somehow affiliated with Obsidian, afterall they got special ques. There are other reasons, but they're opinion and not really relevant.

1) Hit caps lock. Thanks. 2) There are traps in the arena, recover and use them. 3) Stealth is your friend.

The "Dark" Lightsaber Crystals
I know, often, once a game is released the development team takes a time off. I don't know if this is true with KotOR2, especially since it isn't out on PC yet, but it could be the case.

Anyone catch the Mandalorian/BH comment @ the end?
Boba Fett is definetely not my favorite bounty hunter. . .

The "Dark" Lightsaber Crystals
Any devs feel like responding?

The "Dark" Lightsaber Crystals
Did the devs forget to put this in, or something? I'm getting flashbacks of the IWD2 armors that didn't get put in until the patch.

Vrook problem
I don't know what to tell you. You have NO grenades or mines? No way to make yourself immune or at least resistant to his attacks? If you have a gamorean cleaver and improved critical try using that after you buff yourself. With the gamroean cleaver and improved crit you have a good chance of stunning him.

Vrook problem
I found Kavar the toughest, simply because he dealt the most damage per round to me. He was the only boss I had to employ shields against, mostly because if I tried to run away he force jumped... nevermind that though.
