  1. The problem is you don't play a role in FF games and such. For those of you who are not fully aware of what roleplaying is, it is where you put yourself in another person/thing's perspective, and make choices that you think that person/thing would make, based on the info you have. Sure, they give you choices in FF games... but often its maybe 3, and there is only 1 outcome. Where is the role playing if no matter what you do the result is the exact same(which is usually "fight the the evil dood because he's evil!"). Stats are present in all games. Levels, phat lewt, etc... can all go and you can have a role-playing game, just probably not one with combat, nor a good conversation system. EDIT: No.
  2. Iolo, you'll save your sanity by predominantly ignoring Volourn's illogic.
  3. OMG YOU'RE RIGHT!!!! SPLINTER CELL IS THE GREATEST RPG EVAR!!!!!!111! Volourn, stop being simpleminded "but da magazines says it is" guy.
  4. Just because they're called RPGs doesn't mean they ARE RPGs. Final Fantasy, Xenosaga, etc... aren't RPGs. As good as Xenogears is, it isn't a role-playing game.
  5. I sense this thread will soon descend...
  6. No. The movies themselves aren't even always canon, or atleast suffer eradication, such as the medichlorions(how the hell do you spell that?) stuff, which Lucas farted out, then later realized it stunk. Not sure exactly ehat he did to the idea, but its not like it was in the episode I, anymore. EU(Expanded Universe) is canon, but there is a ladder of pogression of how to determine what takes precendence in a conflict. Movies being the top rung, video games probably be towards the end.
  7. This is... well... not funny...
  8. Er... sure... whatever you say... *Slowly backs out of thread, sporks ready.*
  9. Wow... if you're an american, stay in school. Spork him SS! Are you sure he's worthy of the spork almighty? I'de rather just launch a bunch of those weird popping plastic things, at him. Note: By popping plastic things, I mean those odd half-sphere rubber/plastic things which you invert (flip inside out), then set down and then they pop, leaping into the air.
  10. Is now a good time for me to revive Darth Yoda... wow that is an OLD gimmick of mine, I never thought I'de use.
  11. Wow... if you're an american, stay in school.
  12. OMG LOL PLS THX K... [LOCKED]
  13. *Cries like a schoolgirl in a hentai video.*
  14. Uhm... there are 50 states... even if they made 2 games a year, they have 25 years to run out of states...
  15. Yoda is like 900 years old in RotJ... he has earned the right to look decrepid, despite his enormous insurance scam. (Am I the only one who say the fight scene in Ep.II and thought it reeked of insurance fraud. The weee green halflin' went from limping with cane to flipping pissed ninja in .03 seconds...) Also, Star Wars lore says the emperor was so corrupted by the dark side of the force he went through bodies like we go through socks. There is a reason those cloners made such a good livin' and Sidious be it.
  16. Project Maryland better be involve the worlds biggest fresh water estuary, or I might end up eating a kumquat with a spork... No offense... kumquatq3.
  17. You could say that, Fionavar, but I'm looking at it from the far more simple "You're wrong." standpoint. If we're going to engage in a debate in regards to how, why, and who brought about "the word of God" then this probably isn't the best thread, in my opinion.
  18. Out of curiosity, Fionavar, what does that really prove in regards to the fact that the new testament, and old testament both admonish homosexuality? The fact is that Ronald's statement: Is absolutely incorrect. Romans is new testament text, and admonishes homosexuality. Leviticus is old testament text, and admonishes homosexuality. You can sit back and analyze the social climate which brought about the "word of god" until you're blue in the face(or mor green, in your case?), it doesn't change the fact that they are included. If you want to debate the social climate which brought about the rules, you'll probably find me agreeing with you(at least from what you've written thus far).
  19. Well, there's nothing in the New Testament admonishing homosexuality. There's nothing admonishing homosexuality in the Old Testament either, when taken in a socio-historical context. I do appreciate the irony in this thread, however. Have you ever read the bible? Specifically Leviticus?
  20. Fallout 3 was in development off and on for awhile. It entered serious development following the "indefinate hold" of Jefferson (Baldur's Gate III: The Black Hound).
  21. Fallout 3 tech demo someone @ Interplay leaked to some people at NMA and/or DAC.
  22. Demonking, I believe one of, if not the largest factor, is the new content guidelines which WotC has set for D&D titles. Its not the sole reason, but a major factor.
  23. Kumquatq3, pointing out bad careers since 2004.
  24. Wow Karzak, I didn't think I would have to explain it beyond that. I'll let you reread it, rather then spend any more time on this obviously frivilous argument with you. Enjoy yourself.
