  1. To return to an earlier point, it is often implied that moderate muslims need to speak out more against 'Qaeda. I have a different perspective. I'd like to see more moderate atheists speaking out against 'Qaeda. I'd like to see a mass consciousness of, and sense of commitment to the fight against 'Qaeda. Not from muslims, but from the Western intelligentsia. The people who write constantly about how it's really the West's fault that 'Qaeda exists. That we are at fault. I don't say that we don't act stupidly and even selfishly. I don't say that we are some righteous definitive way to be. But that should not preclude us acting in a much more coherent way against these bastards.
  2. Could you elaborate? Sounds like I could absorb some of that lesson.
  3. Brown toast, butter, gentleman's relish, black coffee, apple.
  4. Sorry. I was only laughing because I'd have lost 50 quid. Not saying you're wrong.
  5. Year Zero anyone? Like Hurlshot I've got no time for people who say that religion has no positive side. Several of my personal role models had their behaviour shaped around religion. The absolute definitive point here is how many hundreds of years Islam had nothing to do with this kind of mass casualty terrorism. Whereas Western anarchism and latterly communist ideologies had bomb throwing since the 1800s. What the Qaeda franchise is all about is Marxist/Maoist methodology. Undermine the state through acts of terror. Shake people's faith in the system and let them see 'alternatives'. The greater the atrocity, the greater the statement. "Pay attention to us, fear us, we are alien and unstoppable." Pathetic bastards.
  6. Well, there's obyknven annoyance, and there's the kind of annoyance that moves Industry.
  7. Is that Cthulhu on the tip of that staff there?
  8. No way am I falling for the old "free code you can plug into the single biggest critical system in the World" doomsday shamozzle.
  9. It translates as 'I don't date bald nerds'? ;p
  10. A bottle of Spanish shiraz. Chicken stock gruel for lunch.
  11. Plastic surgery? LOL. I'd have bet you 50 quid those weren't fake.
  12. I'm not sure this is the right milieu to use. Have you read any Lindsay Davis?
  13. Then what do you blame? Islam fosters these extremists. Every time moderates don't call them out, that puts them exactly line with the people who blew up the school. And believe me, I'm not calling out Islam specifically, but religion in general. Islam just happens to be going through the most growing pains right now. Furthermore, islamic extremists don't want me to characterize their religion, they want me to convert. Who do I blame? I blame the methodology and individuals who use extraordinarily simple precepts to turn despairing young men into emotionless killers. THEY are the true arseholes. I had an argument (good natured) with an ex-RSM of the British Army. He remarked that Che Guevara was a real leader of men. I said that it was very easy to make men follow you. It was substantially harder to have anything to your name worth following. A pleasant discussion, with murderous import.
  14. Teenage FPS shooter fans please note: the real deal does not claim even SEALs are best at everything. YOU are not best at everything.
  15. You mean the way our own Christian religion spawned the crusades, the Spanish fascists, and the IRA? EDIT: Every single time you blame Islam for Al Qaeda you do a disservice to millions of peaceful Muslims, and much more importantly you do exactly what Al Qaeda wants you to do. That puts you on the same side of the line as the people who blew up this school. How does that feel, sparky?
  16. Sweet steam-powered Jesus! Gentlemen, I have been conducting research, and can assure you that in my considered opinion 'Kato' is no gentleman.
  17. Somalia and the pirates are an annoyance to everybody. A multi-billion dollar, environmentally serious (due to extra emissions on transport) hazard.
  18. I suspect that small scale actions like this are tacitly accepted by the Security Council members. I've heard a lot of scuttle about the Chinese in this area.
  19. Hard to tell for certain without seeing her move, but her adam's apple, 'chest', shoulders, and hands are consistently feminine. The feet might be inconsistent. But on balance I'd say it was a woman.
  20. Despite many years of seeing such attacks, this takes the absolute biscuit, cake, and associated cutlery. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2013/10/06/uk-iraq-violence-idUKBRE99504U20131006 A suicide bomber has detonated a truck borne explosive device. His target? A primary school. Early indications are that at least 15 are dead. I cannot imagine a more perfect example of the deranged and nihilistic agenda of Al Qaeda. Nor a more powerful counter-argument to those who say we must accomodate and negotiate with them.
  21. The wine and curry did the trick. I feel evil, yet curiously well disposed to everything. I will now go to sleep.
  22. I'm going to be really snooty and suggest that if your chicken was cooked properly you wouldn't need cheese to make it taste more moist. *hides*
  23. I'm slowly reaching the conclusion that Malc should just take his company for every penny it has.
  24. ...why are you hashtagging a forum post?
  25. Joking aside, Prosper, I think someone needs to say that big companies just don't/can't accept open applications or input like you've been doing. It's pretty obvious that you really want to work creatively. But I would respectfully suggest that maybe you'd have more luck just applying yourself artistically in more traditional media, like sculpture. Just my opinion. Hope it helps.
