Does anyone else share my dislike of d20?
EnderAndrew replied to Jediphile's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
Even at 150 gold per casting, I think it would still be broken. And to clarify, some people still seem to think I was suggesting Planescape go GURPS rules. White Wolf has their own system, yet got the rights to do Ravenloft. They did Ravenloft in D20, which was probably a condition of the license. If another developer (Steve Jackson being an arbitrarily random developer) were to pick up Planescape or Dark Sun, I'm sure they would be required to do the setting in D20 to keep the game compatible with the core 3E books. -

Why does the media still care about Jacko so much?

Thanks for the info. I like learning new things. I thought Hajj was just a generic term for pilgrimage.

I think Nick Stahl is a bit wooden for Angel, personally.

What is your posts per day count ?
EnderAndrew replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Way Off-Topic
Bull**** reasons they never fully explained. "We hate being called Bioware Jr, and Bioware isn't making this game, but Atari feels Obsidian's project really belongs on Bioware's forums, because more fans will look for the forums there." That was the closest answer I got, but all the old posts were deleted. Deleting all the fan suggesions is not a way to endear what few fans a startup company has. I think Obsidian doesn't like maintaining their own forums, as they considered closing them before. -
I've always loved Samsung phones. They have great looks, great features and reasonable prices. However, right now I am thinking of switching to Motorolla with my next phone solely on most Motorolla phones are easier to hack if I want to upload custom content on my phone without paying for it.

It's been about 10 years, but didn't he write the Frogs? It's a surprisingly vulgar and funny comedy.

Most of the Middle East doesn't care for the US, not I doubt most people in the Middle East actually truly support terrorism. The UAE, pushed forward by Saudi's crown Prince, tried to get Saddam to step down so the US wouldn't invade Iraq in the first place. The United States actually has a pretty good rapport with Saudi, including a military base in Saudi that doesn't gets targetted by terrorists the way our troops do in Iraq or Afghanistan. I imagine some of the fundamentalists understand that if they attacked from Saudi, we'd go into Saudi and I don't think they want to risk losing Mecca to an American occupation.

When I say AoTC on opening night, all the hardcore Star Wars fans seemed to really like it on the intial viewing. I think it loses luster however on repeat viewings.

This is truly the batle of the century, and I pity the fool who says otherwise!

I'll take Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee routinely beat people who had various advantages over him such as reach, or physical strength. Yet Bruce is probably 3 times as quick as Tyson.

It is so rare that the truly fix what is broken, that it is hard to believe that was their intention, though in this case I believe you are right. -
Obsidian better make Stormtrooper Elvis an unlockable character in Redneck Rampage 2: A Hunka Hunka Burnin' Fun!

What are you playing ? (looking forward too)
EnderAndrew replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Computer and Console
I don't think X-Men Legends is worth $30. I think I beat the game just under 8 hours. -
I haven't play Rome: Total War, but I loved Shogun: Total War. I'm really looking forward to Empire at War (unrelated RTS).

The UN (mainly consisting of US troops) went into Yugoslavia as peacekeepers offering relief. At the time, there were some 7 ethnic groups splitting up a nation in civil war, and it wasn't abundantly clear to outside forces who were the good and bad guys. In retrospect, Milosec was a galactic ****head. But most countries don't want the US jumping in the middle of their civil wars, except when they do. As it was posted earlier, no matter what course of action we take, we usually end up judged poorly because of it.

Craving a Post-Apocalyptic setting RPG
EnderAndrew replied to Lancer's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
If the style of gaming you are shooting for is quick and cinematic, then I urge against using a cumbersome rules system, though some people really enjoy systems that have rules for blinking and pissing at the same time. At the same time, in a really complex environment, a rather complex system might be more appropriate. Certain systems also have mechanics (such as the storyteller system rewarding Willpower points for properly roleplaying your nature) that require and reward proper roleplaying. -
Kudos to you good sir.

I'll stop the bickering on my end, but my father in law is from England, and I have family in England as well. My wife is going nuts since she was just over there visiting family a few months ago and she can't get a hold of anyone.

War is debateable, and unfortunate but it consists of one military attacking another military. Killing innocent civilians is seen as an international war crime, and is universally wrong. There is never an acceptable excuse for murdering civilians. The fact that you can not see a distinction between the two is pretty scary. I'm all for free speech, but this forum is a private forum. Free speech doesn't apply here. As a private forum, it is subject to rules and regulations. Filters censor out f-bombs, inappropriate topics are deleted, and certain behavior is deemed to be inexcusable. The rules of this forum clearly stipulate that racist and discriminatory behavior will be treated with a zero-tolerance policy. And for the record, every single political views test I have taken puts me at a liberal, or possibly a centrist.

And yet White Wolf has adapted their storyteller system to games like Trinity, Abberant, Adventure, Exalted, etc. I think the base mechanics can apply to most settings. -
Craving a Post-Apocalyptic setting RPG

You could use D20 in any getting, Gurps in any setting, etc. However, certain systems cater to certain styles of play, or certain settings. -
Very good point. I prefer to call fundamentalists fundamentalists, and terrorists terrorists. Don't judge an entire group by the horrid acts of a few.

No one is responsible for the actions of others as you cannot control the actions of others. Britain is responsible for their acts, not the acts of terrorists. Al Quaeda needs to take responsibility for their actions. I called to your attention how insensitive it is to defend murder, and you continue to do so. I think that is really beyond ****ed up. You blast Americans, call Marines a bunch of rapists, say most evil people are white, most racists are Americans, most Jews are racist, and that American, Jewish and British civilians deserve to be murdered. If that isn't the rhetoric of a fundamentalist hate-monger, I don't know what is. I seriously hope you are banned from these forums. You might want to check the forum rules:
