I'd go through periods of combat where my guy missed almost every time and relied on my party members to defeat my opponents. Yes, I suck.

While I agree that some novels leave a lot to be desired, the fact is that they're all the same level of "canon".

....it's just a game It's not like if you play as a DS character you will go to Hell in real life. Have you ever played a FPS shooter? "Killed" enemies in video games? Guess what? Killing in the name of LS is just as bad as killing in the name of DS.

I think it'll live up to expectations. I don't think anything outlandish was promised, so it's not like there are these impossible-to-implement features that will be left out. I think most fans just want a good story combined with the rest of the features that made KOTOR I a good game. If that can be met, I don't see much problem of not living up to its hype.

Sorta like the Calo Nord encounter the first time in the cantina on Taris, except not so drastic. Maybe three hits by Malak and it knocks you down and the Bastila cutscene kicks in.

That statement is wrong. On the official star wars forum, they had a thread dedicated to this and showed the different "levels of canon". Comics are lower on the order than any authorized books in canon. edit: at the very least, TotJ are no higher up in canon than any of the EU novels, and I distinctly remember it being said that all comics are a tier down from the EU novels.

I agree. Just thinking about having the battle on Kasshyyk rather than Endor, and having a bunch of Wookiees fighting instead of Ewoks, plus the Coruscant thing just makes me more upset that he chose to go the way he did.

I believe that was a magazine preview that stated that. I don't know if a dev ever actually confirmed whether the article was correct or was misinterpreted.

I heard (although just from rumor) that it was because he didn't want Han portrayed as a bad guy shooting first. This way, Han kills Greedo in "self defense". I don't know how much truth there is to that rumor, but it certainly sounds like the kind of logic GL would come up with.

I doubt Revan's gender will make a difference on the game. Although the more "differences" the Revan decisions have on the game, the better the replay value.

Akari, Were you guys given a clear plot that you had to follow, but just flesh out the story? Or did Lucasarts just give you a very broad idea of what they wanted to see, then left it up to Obsidian to come up with the entire story and characters? For example, did they say (just hypothetical): we want you guys to make a story and game around a Jedi who was in the Mandalore wars, and we want him to encounter these specific characters (enter list of NPCs). Or did they just say: Here's what you can and can't include in your story. Go to it.

What I don't get is why George Lucas changed Sebastian Shaw's ghost image to Heyden Christensen, but he kept Obi-Wan's ghost image as Alec Guiness and not Ewen McGregor.

I kinda hope this one isn't actually confirmed or denied. I'd rather stumble across any "apprentice" when I play, rather than knowing for sure that I will get one or not before I get to play.

I agree, having someone like Vrook be behind it all along would actually be somewhat intriguing (albeit following the movies a bit too closely), but I just can't get Ed Asner's voice out of my head and I don't picture the dimwitted grumpy boss of Mary Tyler Moore as a Sith Lord. Although his daughter Jules on the other hand.....*drools*
