  1. there's about as much chance of that happening as you no longer being a grumpy old man.
  2. I doubt it. The SW databank just elected to go with a set ending, and shouldn't have an impact on the game in the least. It was done more for SW continuity than to dictate how TSL will play out.
  3. OF COURSE, it had nothing to do with it... before Kotor2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, it was more of a question than a statement. I don't know much about Nar Shadda's history, so I was wondering whether it had any significance back then to either the Sith or the Jedi.
  4. I liked the one implemented in KOTOR.
  5. Depending on what different crystals do, and what new "advantages" they present, I'll probably either go with a single lightsaber, or two single blades.
  6. Was Nar Shadda even rumored to be included? What's the significance of that world, besides its ties to the Hutts? I didn't think it had anything to do with the Sith or Jedi, or the Mandalorian wars.
  7. I wasn't complaining. I was explaining my point of view. If you're going to respond, then atleast know the difference between a complaint and an explanation.
  8. Boycotting hurts Obsidian just as much as it hurts LucasArts. Therefore, boycotting the product won't really hurt the one that deserves hurting. Spreading word of mouth will. It'll let anyone who doesn't know, just what kind of company LucasArts is. What effect will that have on KOTOR sales? Probably none. KOTOR will be a success regardless of how much bad publicity they get. But what it does do is keep it in the public's mind what kind of company LucasArts is. When LucasArts releases a game that's not so well liked or hyped, it'll rely on name recognition to sell it. That's when bad reputation comes into the equation. People will be less likely to give them the benefit of the doubt if they know the kind of marketing and business tactics they use.
  9. That first sentence is 100% accurate.
  10. Sorry, but they're not all billionaires. Not even (most) of them. There are about 5 or 6 franchises that actually generated big bucks, with the rest either breaking even or losing money. I blame the 5 or 6 owners with the big pockets, but at the same time, all the players keep coming across as greedy because they can't accept a clamp on their salaries that are, by in large, way too high.
  11. Except for the fact that it's your own interpretation that it was anti-feminine. Revan could have been female. So therefore, a female saving another female proves that part of your theory incorrect.
  12. At the very least, I think we see firsthand whose PR department actually respects and pays attention to their fans.
  13. In your opinion. Too often your posts are just your personal opinion, but you state them as fact.
  14. IMO, the players are still at fault. Here's why the argument about "it's the owners who paid them the rediculous amounts of money in the first place" doesn't hold water. One word: Collusion (sp?). If teams DID get together and agreed not to outbit each other, the players and players' union would be crying collusion right away. Players know they can get teams to bid on them and bump up their salaries because they know that the owners can't get together and say "you know, lets all agree not to give this guy more than $3 million" because then the player and his union rep would be crying collusion. I'm sorry, but salary caps work in basketball and football, so until someone can actually explain why hockey players should be any different, I'm going to look at them as greedy bastards. On a sidenote, Bob Goodenough is nothing but a self-serving egomaniac who has been giving the players bad advise. He doesn't care about the players or the state of hockey, all he cares about is his reputation and keeping his "unbeaten" streak in terms of never giving in. If the players agreed to a salary cap, then in essence, Goodenough "lost" and he'll never allow that.
  15. Shouldn't this thread be stickied so that we'll have the "official" word up at the top of the page for everyone to see it?
  16. Thanks for commenting on it. It's atleast good to get some kind of official response from those involved, rather than the silence thus far that's lead to constant speculation on our part. It's a shame for Obsidian, since this obviously caused a lot of backlash and that's not something a new and growing company would want or need on their first game title.
  17. I guess I should have paid more attention to the dialogue instead of clicking to "fastforward" through them.
  18. Where was this prophesy stated? Is this in one of the previews for KOTOR or something, because I've never seen it before now.
  19. Unless it's changed since they last responded to this, I believe the Morgan man stated that it wouldn't be any more or less difficult than KOTOR 1. A vague answer, but basically saying if you found KOTOR 1 hard to mod, then KOTOR 2 will be as well. If you found KOTOR 1 easy to mod, then KOTOR 2 should be as well.
  20. I thought you were saying the documentary on the DVD was called Empire of Dreams, because that's what the person before you posted about (that he'd buy it just to see the documentary). I'm lost.
  21. This is exactly why companies DO lie to their customers. Because people will rationalize it and give excuses for the company instead of actually saying "you know, what they are doing is wrong". Of course companies are going to keep lying to the public if half the people have this "oh well, all companies lie" attitude.
  22. It was already shown on A&E, unless it was a different documentary using the title "Empire of Dreams".
  23. The simple answer is that it is the season, and the year asscoiated with it is the year the season starts. as far as why companies use this system... I don't know. maybe because if you said "winter 2005" people would wonder if that means Jan-Feb or December. but then I have never understood why the calendar splits the seasons either. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My guess is for the exact reason that's happening now. LucasArts can now use the excuse of the "prolonged" calendar to suggest they never intended a december release, whereas if this absurd calendar didn't exist, they'd have no excuse.
