These last few posts are why Bastila shouldn't appear in a NPC role at all. Instead, they should just make a brief mention of her off on some mission or off somewhere perfecting her control over Battle Meditation. There's just too many "fans" that will be disappointed regardless of how they make her.

I don't plan on reading an entire 15 page thread just to answer my question, so here goes: what exactly is wrong with the valley in KOTOR? What differences are there that are so blatantly obvious that it puts some people's panties in a bunch because of it?

That might be one of the reasons why Lucasarts hasn't allowed either developer to include a similar toolset to NWN. The fact that NWN can be played online and among more than 1 person is something I don't think LA wants KOTOR to be. Although I wouldn't mind some single player campaigns made by modders, Lucasarts probably doesn't want that kind of thing.

A toolset might be nice for those who mod, but that's not me. However, I'm not against one for other people to use since I'm all for downloading mods that others have made.

I voted no because I have no idea what the NWN2 engine looks like and because I'm not inclined to use any toolsets that come with it.

Not necessarily, since you'd have to talk to Yuthura anyways. She just mentions it when you start to become "friendly" with her.

I hope Obsidian can somehow include some of the more interesting sub-stories from the first game into TSL.

It still could be Anakin/Vader, since he was the one who had, in effect, purged the remaining Jedi and ended their Order.

Why is Malak listed as a 20th level? I just don't see him on par with the likes of Yoda or the Emperor.

The XBox seems to be to blame for a lot of KOTOR's shortcomings, in terms of graphics and environment sizes. Will Bill Gates' evil never end? :D

Maybe Bastila will show up and lecture you on Battle Meditation. I hope not, but that might be a likely scenario if she does, in fact, make an appearance. Force Crush would likely be a Sith Lord taught skill.

I'm not sure that can be avoided with a turn-based combat system. I think Obsidian has said they're trying to cut down on the "lag", but I don't think it's possible to eliminate it completely.

Agreed. That would be like comparing Fallout and Doom3 and saying Doom3 is better because the graphics look better.

The moves. I don't care how good the music is, if the moves look crappy, the lightsaber duel will look crappy.

I think Revan will be among the more powerful Jedi of his era, but I don't think he'll rank up there with the most powerful of all time.

That wouldn't be hard to do, considering GL cuts himself off from anything in the SW universe other than his 6 movies. As for the thread, I'm with those who think it's about the Anakin Skywalker prophesy.

I'll just have to respectfully disagree with this and state that people obviously have different tastes. But IMO, NWN was boring and I uninstalled it after an hour of playing. KOTOR, on the other hand, was good enough to keep my interest for 6+ play throughs.

I don't think it'll matter. Spoilers will pop up regardless. Mods can't watch over every thread 24 hours a day. There's going to be the occasional idiots who want to be funny and ruin it for everyone.

Actually, if one of your skills (either persuade or maybe intelligence or charisma) weren't high enough, he wouldn't even do that. He turned on me when I told him to kill Mission on one of my DS play thrus.

If they do include a wookiee, hopefully he'll be more interactive than Zaalbar. I think one of the main reasons I never bothered using him was because he just didn't talk. Atleast the others, the more you talked to them, the more they told you about their past. And while I realize that the whole Kashhyyk thing told us about his past, it would still have been nice for him to communicate more.

Why do I punish myself this way?

Because I don't want the game spoiled for me?
