Aren't most stories "similar" in the SW universe though? Every novel, game, story (not even just SW for that matter) goes something like this: -hero is found, an unknown person on an unknown world -enemy is up to something -it is discovered that enemy has a new (insert superweapon, army, creature, magical power, etc.) and it must be stopped -hero makes friends along his/her journey -hero must decide whether to be hero or to ignore problem -hero destroys said (superweapon, army, creature, magical power, etc.) -insert some kind of twist at the climax I think you'd be hardpressed to find a story, especially in the SW universe, that doesn't include the above. Which is exactly what KOTOR had, and which is what the OT had.

Cartoonish, in that the example given (the Clone Wars Obi-wan) didn't look like something I'd want my character to look like. Now you're questioning the validity of whether saying they look cartoonish is "proof" enough that it's a bad idea? Weird, I figured that would be valid enough without giving more reasons. So I'll say it simply: I think the idea is stupid because I think it makes the game more "cartoonish" in appearance (ie. focussed on the 12 and under crowd) instead of looking like a beautifully detailed "young adult/adult" game. Also, I'd like to point out that my first response was also in direct reply to the suggestion we should "be able to make our own clothes", hence the Barbie dress up comment. I don't want the developers spending their time coding it so the players can create every single imagineable clothing style out there. I'd rather they spent their time on making sure that what's in the game works perfectly (or as near perfect as computer games can get). Making different styles of clothes are what modders are for (and if you look at some of the KOTOR 1 mods, they look spectacular), but not something to waste the developers' time on. In other words, I'd rather the developers get the game out on time with no bugs, rather than have delays all because some insignificant "extra", such as being able to make our own clothes, isn't working properly. Clear and simple enough? Geeze.

You apparently haven't bothered to read my replies. I've stated why already countless times. Most of my replies are towards people telling me I shouldn't post my opinion unless I gush over the idea, so obviously when I respond to them I'm not going to go in to detail about why I think it's a STUPID idea.

Doesn't North Bay have the curse of Wren Blair? He's the guy that took the Centennials away to Saginaw. :D (this will go over your head if you don't follow Junior hockey)

I saw footage of some of the rioting. What's with people (not just in Boston, but most everywhere) rioting and burning cars after a sports championship? Are we, as a human race, really this pathetic? Funny thing is the Red Sox haven't really won anything yet. If the Cards sweep them in the WS, then the curse is still alive and all that rioting just makes them look like even bigger asshats.

What happens to Mission?
GhostofAnakin replied to starwarskid15_19's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
My vote is she's off swinging through the trees with Zaalbar. -
It's a "suggestions" forum, meaning you post if you agree or disagree with a suggestion. I'm disagreeing. How is that hard to understand? Check every other thread. Not every response is "gosh, i love this idea!". I'm participating because, in the off chance the devs consider the idea, I want them to know that there are people who do NOT want to see it implemented. Simple enough?

I was wondering the same thing myself. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To provide you with a place to make your own pointless posts.......while you WAIT for release day! Hahahahahahahaha! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> GOOD topics can accomplish the same thing. No need for pointless topics. The reason I'm responding has more to do with boredom than anything else. It doesn't change the fact this is a pointless topic about your fascination over a pixelated female character.

Please make KOTOR 2 longer!
GhostofAnakin replied to SteveMcCool's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I hope it is done in a fluid sort of way, rather than just a tedious effort where you have to "guess" when to return to planets, and thus might have to try and see if anything gets triggered whenever your PC goes up a level. In other words, I hope it's story related, sort of like in KOTOR when your NPC's sidequests were triggered and a cutscene sorta let you know it was available. -
Barawigin (or whatever the big gun was called that you can purchase on Yavin station). And the Casus Fett pistol was pretty good.

Is KOTOR 2 a true sequel?
GhostofAnakin replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Wouldn't that just make it an add on pack then if it continued with the same character? -
Again, I have to reiterate, I have no "attitude". I'm simply stating that I think this is a stupid idea and would make a rediculous addition.
-
Dude, there's no need for that. Chill. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No need for my opinion? Weird, I guess only people who say "OMG wut a gr8 idea!" can post? I think it's a cartoonish idea and I said so. Apparently that makes my views "sarcastic" or "not needed".

As much as I know, they are. And they are called thermal detonators (rember episode VI?). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And concussion grenades. So this thread is pretty much invalid.

Is KOTOR 2 a true sequel?
GhostofAnakin replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Considering it's a brand new story (atleast in terms of who the main "stars" are), a new timeline, a new PC, etc. I voted for "yes". I can't see how it can be thought of as anything less than a sequel. -
I was wondering the same thing myself.

No, we`re trying to make our charcaters look better. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> by putting bulky armor underneath robes and other clothing? yeah, a walking refrigerator looks ever so normal. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Everyone has different tastes for clothes, so don't be sarcastic. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sarcastic? Actually I was being displeased because the thought of armor underneath a robe or other clothing looks and sounds downright cartoonish (oh wait, look at that, the Clone Wars CARTOON had it). Hopefully they'll have talking ewoks too.

My signature was because of a funny quote by Pedro, but edited after the game tonight...I'm an either or fan.

What are you talking about? What does my response have to do with baseball?
-
Huh?
-
We had the Star Forge in the first game, and that seemed to be enough for me. I'd just like to face an enemy with a vast amount of power rather than an enemy with a powerful weapon.
-
Something like that. It's the one with Durga the Hutt building a Death Star the shape of a lightsaber. But then again, a lot of the EU novels seem to reuse some variation of the Death Star
-
Does that mean we're going to have to spend a big portion of the game in FPS mode then? Because if that's the mode where we can find a bunch of stuff, then you'll never know when this stuff shows up.
-
ugh...FPS? I hate that mode.

Red Sox down 3 games to 0 and come back to win the series 4-3. Biggest choke job in MLB history.
