  1. LOL I'm an adult with no social life (well, except when my friends make me do stuff) and an abundance of free time, but I just can't play through KOTOR that many times and I consider KOTOR my favorite game of recent memory. Once I'd exhausted most dialogue options and variations of play throughs (male, female, LS, DS, different combos of both), I just couldn't play through any more knowing exactly what was going to happen next.
  2. Geeze! And I thought my 5 times completed, 7 times semi-completed was a lot. How can you guys play it so many times?
  3. First time I've seen that. Interesting link. Good find.
  4. That is correct. They plan on writing one or two novels set during the Old Republic era, but I don't think the books will necessarily be about Revan and the KOTOR game as we know it. It will probably closer follow the comic series.
  5. 5 times beaten, 7 times played through to after the Leviathan.
  6. Do you have any links or books/comics to back up your comments though? I don't mean offense to it, but from everything I've read and heard, there was/is/always will be only ONE Mandalore, and from him came a group known as the Mandalorians. I've never ever heard it called a title such as Sith Lord or Jedi Master. If you're basing it on conflicting information between KOTOR the video game, and KOTOR the comic series, then that's incorrect since there are a LOT of errors between the two that are known. Perhaps HK's recollection of who he fought or who Mandalore was is one of these discrepencies?
  7. I thought that the guy called Mandalore was THE leader, and his warriors were named after him. I didn't think it was a title such as Sith Lord or Jedi Master.
  8. Wasn't he defeated by Revan before the events of KOTOR? Wouldn't him returning be a continuity error? Or is this one of those Star Wars "a certain point of view" things, where "defeated" just means he lost, but wasn't killed?
  9. I think a Sith or Dark Jedi would take a defeated Jedi's lightsaber as a "trophy" of conquest. Either way, it'd be a neat little addition. But it might be too difficult to determine what "loot" falls into the "quest related" category and the "personal gain" category. Too much grey area, IMO.
  10. That's what I was thinking. I'd guess that, atleast with respects to blasters, an unarmed "specialist" would be able to dodge the blasts until he/she is close enough in to do damage in combat.
  11. I don't think it's the Mandalore, himself. I think it's just a Mandalorian.
  12. I think what they mean is that there will be more than 10 in the game, but some of them won't be available to you depending on your LS/DS alignment. For instance, if you're playing as a LS character, you'll never have certain NPCs available to join your party because they are strictly DS. And vice versa for DS play throughs. In other words, big time replayability.
  13. the Force, even. Unless Akari would rather have the foce with him. "
  14. Actually, I'd say Lucasarts ranks at the bottom, in terms of sources of useful information we've been given. After Akari, I'd place internet rumors and magazine previews FAR ahead of what Lucasarts has actually given out.
  15. I must be blind. I can't find those AIM icons.
  16. Thanks Akari. Your responses have been very informative, especially considering how much lack of information we've been given from Lucasarts themselves, despite the game being released shortly. (sends a PM to Akari with his address so Akari can send an advanced copy of KOTOR: TSL )
  17. That would actually be intriguing. Something like: if the item is "quest related", such as a notepad or information or even components to improve your lightsaber, then a LS Jedi can pick it up without DS points. But stuff like credits or blasters, stuff a Jedi doesn't "need" (they carry lightsabers after all), anything that can be used for financial or personal gain would warrant DS points.
  18. The republic in the films is also the old republic. In ANH vader or that Moff said that after they dissolved the senate that the last remanents of the old republic are gone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Effectively during ANH, there was NO Republic left, as the Emperor had disolved the senate. That Republic they were referring to was the Old Republic (or otherwise just known as the Republic). The New Republic is an EU thing, after RotJ where Mon Mothma stood as the Chief of State. The ongoing debate thus becomes whether the Republic (that stood during the first 3 movies) is the same as the Old Republic, referred to in KOTOR days. Most believe it is.
  19. I voted for more sidequests, even though the likelihood is very, very small.
  20. Pics look pretty good. Are those XBox screenshots or PC? I'm assuming XBox.
  21. At the risk of being a Star Wars nerd here, I actually disagree with that too. It has been said (most recently in the Clone Wars novel Medstar: Battlesurgeons) that that's the problem with the Dark Side. Those who use it, in their own twisted mind, don't believe they're being evil. In their own twisted logic, they believe they're using the power to keep order in the galaxy THEIR way. From the outside looking in, obviously they're being greedy and power hungry. But it's believed that in reality that's not how they see it. And thus why it's so tempting to fall to the Dark Side. Because the person at the time believes that they're doing so for a "good" reason.
  22. The evil C'Baoth was a clone. So maybe the cloning part of it has something to do with that. The real C'Baoth was a Jedi Master.
  23. Forget Star Wars? This IS Star Wars. That argument is like saying "forget the fact that in Star Wars you can travel through hyperspace. Think about real life instead" with regards to why space craft blow up in space.
  24. Uh? Didn't you see me specify the words "PHYSICAL APPEARANCE"? I didn't say that non-Force users don't BECOME evil. I said that their physical appearance isn't affected by turning evil. And that's what the original poster was asking.
