  1. super, rediculously powerful, unstoppable, maxed out stats, near invincible, as close to god-like as can be achieved, etc.
  2. Unless Mike Gallo and Lucasarts (the one's responsible for RELEASING THE GAME) do a 180 in the next month (which is when the US version is expected), don't get your hopes up and don't listen (read) any other sources' opinions. Stores are given release dates, but they're just tentative dates that hold no actual bearing on when the game will actually be released. It's almost like a placeholder for marketing purposes so that the store's head office can begin planning for the release of the game. But just because a store has a date listed, doesn't mean that's when it will be released.
  3. I think the problem with those who don't see a problem with the TSL PC being more powerful than Revan is that they're only looking at the small picture. Maybe I'm just not explaining myself well enough. Who knows. I think if people forget the name "Revan" and instead focuss on the REASONS behind the explanation, it might sink in. It's not that I don't think the PC should be more powerful than "Revan" per se, but that the PC (who just happens to be Revan) in KOTOR1 was thrust down our throats as an uber powerful Jedi, someone that comes along once in a generation. So now, if the new PC is more powerful, then that "once in a generation" feel is ruined. It also has a snowball effect because then when KOTOR3 rolls around, this new PC will be "more powerful" than the TSL PC, and so on. I think that's the part people don't seem to get. They just see this as "should the TSL PC be more powerful than Revan?" instead of the more apt question "should the PC in every subsequent game be more powerful than his predecesor?".
  4. Good thing I've never seen it. Why on earth would they take a setting like the D&D genre and turn it in to a comedy?
  5. Does that also mean that mods will be allowed to ban people who insist on posting spoilers in non-spoiler forums just to be "funny"?
  6. More than likely, it will. I'm betting that KOTOR3 won't be released as soon after TSL's release as TSL was to KOTOR1's release.
  7. I was just responding to the post I quoted, suggesting that "SW Universe" laws would be exactly the same as "our" laws, and thus any taboo subjects that exist in our world would automatically be the same in the SW world.
  8. Uh, hate to burst your bubble, but apart from the name, the new character is in a sense going to be an "existing" one like Revan was, since it's already known he's served under Revan. In other words, it's not just some random civilian who happens to stumble upon a threat to the galaxy.
  9. They made a cool hockey stat simulator back in the late 80's. "
  10. It's because you talk funny.
  11. I take it no one wants to respond to my point about each subsequent PC being more powerful eventually making the games seem lame? Because that was part of my reasons for being against the PC being more powerful than Revan. If the TSL PC is more powerful, then no doubt whoever the PC in KOTOR3 will be more powerful than the TSL PC, then the KOTOR4 PC will be more powerful than the KOTOR3 PC, and etc. IMO, that would start to get lame if each new game has to top the previous one in order to tell its story.
  12. #1 reason to stay in school kids.
  13. Just commenting on this specific point, but while Revan's victory over Malak was a "player controlled fight", in effect it was a story-related victory as well, since the official continuity of the KOTOR saga has Revan coming out on top. So we'd have to assume this means that he's "meant" to defeat Malak and all those Jedi. The only thing the player controls is how easily and how fast he does so.
  14. Neat graphics, but I don't think I'll be getting this game. For me, story plays a huge part in a game, and since it's the video game representative of Episode III, then the story will be known.
  15. That's if you use our laws. Considering the ages of different species are so vastly different, perhaps it's different in the Star Wars universe. For Yoda's species, maybe any female under the age of 100 would be considered "jailbait". "
  16. Hand to hand combat all the way, baby!
  17. I'd be disappointed at a sub-par story and weak NPC interaction. Both I believe will be there, but both would rank high on my list for things I'd be disappointed about if not present.
  18. I remember hearing something similar as well.
  19. So I take it you turn off the sound when you watch a movie as well?
  20. LOL I see nightclever's making a new friend.
  21. You don't know that for sure. George Lucas might change his mind and make Windu turn in to Darth Vader. Afterall, it's a black guy's voice that Vader has, right?
  22. The new PC can be an "uber-powerful" Jedi as well, without having to be rammed down our throat that he's more powerful than Revan. That's all I'm saying. Less powerful than Revan doesn't = weak Jedi All it means is exactly that. He's just not AS powerful as Revan. It can be a Yoda/Mace Windu thing. Yoda's arguably more powerful, but that doesn't mean Mace Windu is a wimp.
  23. Glad to see I'm not the only one who would be a little disappointed if the new PC was dubbed as more powerful than Revan. IMO, the new PC doesn't have to be more powerful in order for him/her to be the hero of TSL and confront the 3 Sith Lords. I just don't want every single new PC to become "more powerful" than the one before him/her. I think since KOTOR went out of their way to portray Revan as a uber-powerful Jedi, then the series should continue with this fact in mind and adjust their characters accordingly. I'd be more than content to have my Jedi be powerful enough to face the Sith Lords, but not so powerful that Revan's legacy is tarnished by it. Look at the movies. Yoda was pretty much considered the most powerful (in terms of command of the Force) Jedi Master, yet Luke was the one that took on the Empire, Vader and the Emperor. The movies didn't have to make Luke more powerful than Yoda in order for him to be the saviour of the galaxy.
