That's not the question you asked, and not the one I answered. I didn't say that the new PC couldn't be a powerful Jedi. Of course he/she can. You asked if they would be MORE powerful than Revan. There's a BIG difference between the character being a powerful Jedi and being MORE powerful than Revan.

It doesn't really have anything to do with the "Revan saga" being over or whatnot. It has to do with the individual characters. KOTOR1 established Revan as a powerful Jedi. So regardless of whether the story follows the Revan saga or not, it still has to acknowledge what Revan was made out to be in the first game, since it does incorporate some of those aspects in TSL. Just look at the SW EU of novels. Every subsequent novel, you don't see the new characters being described as "more powerful than Luke Skywalker". They tell their story without having to "downgrade" how powerful the former antagonist was. I just think that as a whole it would look a bit weird when every single subsequent game, this Jedi came out of nowhwere to become more powerful than the previous one.

My main disagreement is that it would make the statement "most powerful Jedi" completely useless, since everytime a new PC comes along, he/she is "more powerful than the last". In other words, Revan was considered one of the most powerful in KOTOR, so then in TSL the PC is more powerful than Revan, and then in the next game, the PC is more powerful than the TSL PC, and so on and so on. To me, that pretty much ruins the whole aura of having a powerful character, since by the next game he won't be anymore.

It'll ruin the "Revan saga" part of it. If the new PC is more powerful than Revan, then it'll make Revan inconsequential. It might not ruin TSL itself, but if the aim of the game is to follow up on the events surrounding Revan and whatnot (which it is, since he makes an appearance). If it was just about making a new powerful protagonist, Revan should have been ignored entirely. I think TSL can be a good story without having to require the PC to be more powerful than Revan (although I suppose since there is prestige classes, we can assume he/she WILL be). Think about the movies. Luke Skywalker was able to be the hero of the "second trilogy" without it being shoved in our face whether he was more or less powerful than the Jedi in the prequels.

Didn't you get to tell Bastila that her face was all scrunched up like a kinrath pup? Haha Revan's pick up lines were worse than my own. Although he did end up with the chick.... -

This has been asked now about 5 times in the past month. -
Lucky. Where I live, you'd need 4 NEW games to trade in and you'd still only get store credit for them (between $10-15 each).

I think there's going to be various background music depending on scenes or whatnot (ie. something dramatic is about to happen/has happened), but I don't know if it'd really make much difference if we had specific music (dark music if we're DS, light if we're LS) follow our characters at all times. If anything, it might get annoying.

He sent Vader because Vader was Luke's father and the Emperor knew that that conflict would cause Luke a slip to the dark side more easily. The Emperor was a master at manipulating circumstances, and that's what that was.

I suppose hindsight is 20/20, but there are numerous things Bioware could have done differently with the Revan angle, but seemed to have, atleast in terms of variety, fallen short. -
Actually, if you want to get technical, this thread is in effect, entirely off topic since it has nothing to do with KOTOR or TSL. "

Off topic slightly, but was General Grievous shown in the trailer? I can't recall seeing him.

The one thing I'll say is it would have been better if Malak reacted to you differently based on your current alignment. In both cases, whether you had a halo over your head and had angels singing in the background, or whether you were pale grey with veins sticking out, he still acted the same towards you. Even if his ultimate plan was to betray you, if you were DS, he should have "pretended" to be humbled to see his former master still alive and try and convince Revan to come back with him to the Star Forge, THEN double cross him on the Star Forge. Something like that. Just something that adds a bit of differentiation between playing LS and DS. -
You can't really say that with certainty, considering Vader caught him by complete surprise and he had a whole half dozen seconds before being thrown down that shaft to contemplate his choices in life.
-
He wasn't afraid of him. He just recognized the type of power Anakin's son would have. If he was afraid of him, he would have just rather had Vader or his army kill him. Instead, he wanted Luke brought to him so he could make him his apprentice.

It's probably one of the Emperor's royal advisors.

Chronicles of the Old Republic

It would be cool if, like you said, they were some background stories, almost like maybe 4 or 5 pages short stories about various adventures that the main characters had before the events of TSL. Plus, I agree that some stories chronicalling the 5 years between games would be very interesting, and also help fill in the gaps about events that we might wonder about, but won't necessarily be mentioned in the game. -

I wonder if there is a limit on how strong it can get? and how it changes colour? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With more "personalized" lightsabers, hopefully this cuts down on the number of lightsaber loot you can amass. It would be neat if everyone's lightsaber was bonded closely to its owner, and that the lightsaber becomes almost useless (maybe a severe drop in damage) if used by someone other than the owner. -
So the Emperor has a lightsaber

The DS of the Force has that physical effect on whoever uses it, especially the "darker" you become. And there's not many more darker than the Emperor was. -
