  1. This. One and done, then start a new game with a different character.
  2. I didn't like ME2's main quest. ME2's sidequests (or personal quests for each party member) were its strength. So in terms of main story, that's why I think ME1's main story is the best of the three. In terms of overall game play, ME2's sidequest makes up the difference to put the two games about on par, IMO. I also thought the characters were a bit deeper in ME2, but I think that stems from the personal sidequests. We got to learn a lot about their pasts, or their families, or whatever, because of them. Playing hypotheticals, my "perfect" Mass Effect game would be some kind of amalgamation of ME1's main story, ME2's sidequests, and ME3's combat.
  3. I don't know if this idea would work for this kind of game. Seems more suited to an action game. *shrugs*
  4. There are some things that should not be left up to the fans. The title of the game is one of them.
  5. While I'd be for the idea if time/money permits and it doesn't detract from other features, I don't know how difficult something like this is to code. So I don't know whether there's much point in Obsidian spending their time and resources on this feature when it's likely that the majority of players won't tweak the sliders and will just play the "default" settings.
  6. The tutorial should be optional. Nothing as annoying as having to play through a 30 minute "tutorial" level each and every time you start a new game.
  7. This is exactly why I tend to just ignore the crafting part of any RPG, for the most part. Most times, in order to make decent weapons you either need a million of something, or you need something so obscure that it takes you forever to find it. All that hassle and the weapon you craft is available at a local merchant for X number of gold instead. So it renders crafting irrelevant since anything I can craft, I can just buy, and without the hassle of having to run all over the world trying to find that one rare item. And secondly, if by chance I do find that one rare item and craft my weapon, as you said, the weapon becomes obsolete so quickly when after leveling up a couple of times, you find a weapon that surpasses the crafted item quite easily. Once again the crafted weapon is made obsolete, and once again it feels like I went through all that hassle of finding rare ingredients (or grinding for common ones, but in the dozens) for nothing. So especially when crafting involves a rare item, please make that item actually strong enough to use for the majority of the game.
  8. It would be kind of neat if it coincided with the release of the game. Like, the episode the week before SoT is released, the boys on the show talk about how they're looking forward to the release of SoT. See? Free advertising!
  9. It's almost like the game is conspiring against me. At one point the *only* elemental weapons I had were ones that did fire damage. This was at the point where I was up against a bunch of enemies (and a boss) who is immune to fire.
  10. I haven't come across a single corrosive gun. Marcus sells crappy weaponry, too. So I have to wait until I luck out and an enemy drops one.
  11. Project Eternity is the codename for the project, kind of like Jefferson (ramza will appear now). They'll likely unveil the real title after the kickstarter period is over.
  12. Considering the cost involved in making physical copies, boxed versions will likely only be for those who pledged that tier of reward for the kickstarter. At best you might be able to order a boxed version from Obsidian, if they decide to have an "online store" (they don't already, do they?). I don't think it's very likely there'll be boxed versions available at game shops.
  13. Just under $50 thousand away from $2 million and meeting the next stretch goal. Should surpass this mark by either Thursday or Friday.
  14. That seems like a lot of extra work when the majority of gamers will likely just use the "default" settings that come with Easy, Medium, Hard.
  15. But what about me?! My needs are important, too.
  16. 2013 doesn't sound like a very good year to be a gamer.
  17. Finally finished that quest to rescue Roland. Is that ever a long quest. It was also quite frustrating because I kept running out of ammo, and to backtrack to find ammo allowed them to re-power their shields to full. So I'd have to whittle their shields down AGAIN and hope I had enough ammo to put a dent in their health before once again fetching ammo.
  18. At first I was going to vote yes, but then I read this and though, it's true. If it was just your PC's weapons you had to worry about, it might be okay. But having to manage the weapons for six characters would become quite the chore, IMO.
  19. I voted some, but am now leaning more towards none. I wouldn't mind hearing a basic overview of the world, or some of the factions vying for control over said world, but I don't want to know details that I'd otherwise learn as I play the game. And definitely no spoilers for major plot points or major characters who appear.
  20. This is kind of where I was going. It's one thing to have a bartering system if the PC and companions come across an isolated tribe that is quite primitive, so maybe that's the only thing they're used to, and the PC and companions have to barter shoe for fish type deals. But generally speaking, most established and civilized populations will have some sort of "gold" monetary standard in place to buy and sell goods for.
  21. I think a pure bartering system would actually be unrealistic. Unless I'm way off, I don't think Project Eternity is going to be about a bunch of tribes trading a boot for a stick. So, like most civilized populations, being able to trade gold for goods makes sense.
  22. Claudia Black and Jennifer Hale.
  23. Here's the thing. I loved asking people in Planescape: Torment about random things. I loved hearing their view of Sigil, the Lady of Pain, Pharod and whatnot. It gave the world and the charachters depth to me. I don't need every bit of dialouge to further my charachter or the NPC. It's not necessary. Sometimes I just want to do small-talk. Sometimes I want to hear about the world through an NPC. Please, Sawyer. Don't take this away. Especially if this game is a spiritual successor to the IE games. I'm in agreement completely with both of these. Just putting that out there in case the devs pass through this thread. Edit: I should probably read more than just the first few posts in a thread. I see Josh has posted and made my second statement above unneccesary.
