  1. Could someone explain (to a non-native speaker) why the original limerick was considered offensive? If i understood it correctly, not the transgender guy was killed, but the joke is actually on the idiot that couldn't deal with accidentially ****ing a guy and then he killed himself. So the joke isn't anti-transgender imo, more like anti-'straight guys with extremely insecure self-image'.
  2. Blunderbuss really starts to shine later on, with Marksman, Gunner & Penetrating Shot. Since more than half my party uses firearms, crossbows or similar weapons, i also have my chanter sing the reload/ranged speed chant. Also, the Paladin has a +6 ACC aura -> hits and crits for insane focus gains (& good damage)...
  3. Don't feel sorry, no intention to update. No gamebreaking bugs (for me) & i don't like several changes/nerfs (why nerf the chanter? He had one single medicore chanter-specific talent, now he has one single talent nobody will take...)
  4. I agree with the rest of your analysis, however iirc. this modal also modifies accuracy by -10, which is almost never worth it. My Shieldbearer of St. Elcga Paladin has a talent that modifies flames of devotion to add +10 deflection to the party without a malus (only for 10 seconds x2 however, but i think the first 20 seconds of a fight are often most important).
  5. Thats a new one, the game wants you to kill those people... I usually blame the voices - actually very fitting in this game, being a watcher / awakened... (cannot contribute killing opportunities since i'm still on my paladin champion playthrough, belkar has to wait a bit)
  6. Oh nice, glad he changed that, i'll have to update! Bttw, did he also fix the lvl1 ability duplication bug?
  7. did you use GGP for Durance? FindCharacter GGP > Companion_GGP(Clone)_3 (example, might be different) ChangeCharacter Companion_GGP(Clone)_3 Priest Don't think so, your watcher abilities don't have prereqs. Edit: If you later look for Griefing Mother, search for GM
  8. Well, then you failed on your rampage and didn't kill everyone, and deserve your reputation. Thats why you kill the mages/priests first (and surprisingly). And burn the village after your ramapge. But yes, D&D has so many magic CSI options, it's not really possible to hide your deeds, so i guess the global reputation can make sense in Faerun.
  9. True, but the paladin will increase DPS for the rest of the party: allies get +6% to hit, +5% to crit all the time - in a 6 char party, that should easily be enough to balance the scales. If you have 2 paladins, you can benefit from 2 auras at the same time (better DR AND better damage for the whole party)
  10. Yeah, this is the problem with the lack of a global reputation. If you butchered all of bergost in BG (or even just a few random people there), almost everyone who sees you (or at least guards) will try to kill you, as they definitely should considering how you're a crazy mass-murderer. In PoE, nobody seems to care much outside of the region where you do your slaughtering, which quickly becomes implausible as your innocents kill-count racks up into the triple-didgits. Well, if you kill everyone in bergost, your global reputation shouldn't really suffer imo. No witnesses left to tell the story...
  11. Well, i can agree with him being fanatic and not caring about his allies as long as he also kills you and fullfills his goals . but i really think it's an AI problem - probably also happens in other fights, but its likely not that bad due to limitations on the #of spells & diffrent spells, but he can cast fireball at will, and does so, all the time. Also, this kinda is a boss fight, and him shooting himself all the time is somewhat anticlimatic.
  12. I had several perception 19 checks so far. Nothing esssential, but they do exist.
  13. If reaction time is an issue, try the slow mode in combat (press S) and pause often. Stunning your whole party is uncommon, do you have problems with a specific fight or a specific type of enemies ?
  14. The character of Raedric is not stupid, so hitting himself with fireballs all the time is not fitting. It's an AI bug related to the correct targeting of AoE spells, but if fixing AI is too hard, an easiy solution is a spell that only affects enemies.
  15. Yes, Defiance Bay has several quests that can be solved without fights. Following the main quest however will involve some fighting. What fights are broken for you btw.? The only fight-related bug i had was a persistent druid spell.
  16. While i and many others enjoy the tactical challenges of the old IE games, as well as PoE, i also have several friends that are playing them exclusively for the storyline and adventure parts. @OP Try to get a full party (6 characters) as soon as possible. Get additional adventurers in a tavern if you cannot find enough companions. Areas are not scaled to your level, if you have problems avoid difficult dungeons at first and complete other quests first. Dungeons to avoid until you get a full party: Raedrics Hold, Temple Ruins.
  17. drop con. You loose hp, but only about 25% iirc. So you can take one or two hits less than normal. However, all those points go to other attributes, so you will also get hit less (if per or res), or kill your enemies faster (might or dex) -> which also means you get hit less (dead enemies don't hit you). Had no problems with con 3 on hard (paladin). if you play a character that doesn't rely on int too much for durations / area, you can also drop int. Keep in mind, as long as you don't drop two attributes that contribute to the same save, your fort/ref/will saves will be as good as thoses of a char with average saves.
  18. Keep in mind the high resolve option might not necessarily be the best way to deal with the situation. You are supposed to make a deal with multiple parties involved in a quest, you could convince one side to give in - or you could try to find the underlying issues and find a solution beneficial for everyone (or at least most). E.g. the miller quest, or the salty mast quest. That said, i think i got most out of perception, closely followed by resolve. Intelligence came up, but not as much as resolve and perception. Few high dex checks. No con checks (dump stat for my char), but several might checks (also dump stat, so i don't know if the results would be interesting). Skills: Several lore checks in act 2, and now some lore 10 checks at the start of act 3. Also some survival in act 2. No checks for athletics so far. Other skills are too low on my main character.
  19. Wow, impressive, i had to reload several times - with a full party (on hard). Congrats!
  20. Greetings, although i really like the Lord Soth vibe, giving Vampire Raedric the fireball spell (at-will) doesn't actually help him, since he hits himself and his allies too. My paladin and my fighter have very high reflex saves, he only missed or grazed them, but mostly hits himself and his vamps. Without that spell, the fight would have been really hard (esp. with all those charm spells from his allies, hitting even with the priest protection spell vs. charmed/dominate). So in an upcoming patch, please give him an Foe only spell instead... (played on hard, don't know if this bug also appears on other difficulty levels)
  21. Well, i'm currently in chapter 2 / Defiance Bay: there were several Resolve & Perception options 18+ so far, and two for int 18+. Dexterity 18 was mostly a waste, the highest one i encountered was 16. Mostly those attributes added additional information and insights, only the resolve options resulted (rarely) in a better quest resolution.
  22. Focus gain is directly related to damage dealt with your weapon, but blunderbuss should still do enough damage and high dex means more frequent attacks. I think the chanter has a nice chant that decreases reloading time and increses speed. So yes, Ciphers are the kings of debuff-control -> should work great...
  23. So, basically everyone is dead: - Everyone except throne room killed. - Accepted assassination mission - completed assassination mission - throne room: stole something -> hostile -> killed everyone in throne room - nothing lives in Raedrics hold anymore -> So i wondered, does this cause (gamebreaking) problems further ahead in the game. I'm a bit too happy about my victory to reload otherwise...
  24. The paladin was a really great idea! Played her till lvl 4 now, and she is surprisingly effective, granting an constant aura for +6 to hit to my allies and her shielding flames adding +10 deflection twice per encounter (for 10 sec). Also, she is really quite hard to hit (deflection 75, ref 78, wil 73), it almost feels broken - unless someone targets fortitude (12 currently). And she interrupts enemies all the time (dual wielding dagger and a larder door = shield with bash ability). Damage isn't that great however, but thats where my companions can shine. So, thank you, i'm having a blast (and all my favorite dialogue options, too)... .)
  25. Thank you all very good points, i'm leaning towards a paladin now. I think the ranger interrupt build idea would also be lots of fun, but i get a ranged ranger companion shortly before defiance bay and i didn't find a paladin so far. Don't know about the chanter, i like to use my strongest abilities at the start of the battle, and summons etc. only appear for clean-up duty...
