  1. Disarming traps will also net some XP. The biggest chunk is from quests however, so you might have a harder time if you skip too many sidequests...
  2. I think realism in a fantasy game setting is more about immersion & what would make sense in this world - less about "it could/would happen like this in reality". His requests seem reasonable imo.
  3. Don't need it personally, but sounds reasonable & shouldn't be too hard (maybe ask the IE Mod Author if/how it can be done, he already changed how mouse over works) A script to globally change weapons to fist slot while in towns shouldn't be hard / much work & adds immersion -> i'd also like to see that happen. Well, immersive but i already hate the running speed, walking would drive me crazy. Since there are walk animations in the game already (as seen in cutscences etc.), it shouldn't be too hard to implement or mod... Good idea, but i think we'll have to wait for the expansion for such a major overhaul.
  4. m 18 c 3 d 3 p 18 i 18 r 18 works well with fighter, barbarian and paladin, or any ranged character (ranged rogue, ranged ranger, caster). I would take cipher, they seem to get the most interesting class-based dialogue options. Be hard to hit, hit hard yourself. Hitting hard is imo. better than hitting often due to DR. Being hard to hit is imo. better than being durable. Medium stats don't unlock much dialogue, so getting really high makes more sense than being decent in an attribute.
  5. Did you surprise the thieves in copperlane already (unmarked building close to the Dozens HQ)? If not, get the letter and you should get additional dialogue options from this...
  6. Well, i think this might even be somewhat productive. Only some people discuss, but many people read -> If only some of them can draw some new information regarding bio gender / social gender ect., i'd consider it a win.
  7. She cannot get a period or carry out a baby so far, but she could (if she wanted to) change her body including female hormones, primary & secondary sexual organs, change her facial structure to be more feminine etc. Or she can change other aspects, like how she identifies/calls herself etc. Don't really see why such freedoms should be denied to her, i consider freedom of (self-)expression and freedom of speech one of the great achievements in recent history.
  8. Many psychiatric syndromes are just differences from the norm, and are more or less a "defined" illnesses despite being just a deviation from the statistical average. There is an ongoing change to weed those out and only call an sth. an illness if it causes actual suffering. Homosexuality was only declassified a disorder and changed to a sexual variaton in 1973 by the same group.
  9. Another word for birthname, but it includes the fact that the name was changed (it would be inappropriate / could be considered an affront to use it despite the change)
  10. Any opinion will be offensive to someone. Some people think LBGT-lifestyles are offensive, some people find drinking alcohol is offensive. I hope you don't want to reitroduce prohibition or forbid/censor LBGT. I hope you don't want to selectively censor everything you don't like/approve of, and cry "Censorship!" only on issues you do like. One can limit freedom of speech regarding hate-speech, like #killallmen, #killalllesbians, #killallhumanslargerthan2mcausetheyaretoofrigginbig but thats a slippery slope... Context. It's a thing. Exactly. I say #killkillallhumanslargerthan2mcausetheyaretoofrigginbig i think of it as a joke to make light of the whole situation. Someone else might take it very serious, due to personal abuse, religion, or whatever reason. Same text, different context. But, should i be forbidden to use this stupid hashtag just because someone might take offense?

  12. It might suggest Obsidian just didn't notice it could be controversial. Which is a fail in their vetting process, because the current discussion is bad PR & hurting the game - no matter what specific opinion you might have on the subject. Companies that give in don't get any respect. Yes, and companies that don't give in also don't get any respect. Their vetting process failed simply by missing a potential controversy that cannot have a positive resolution for everyone: no matter how it is handled, people with a different opinion will be upset.

  14. Or it might suggest Obsidian just didn't notice it could be controversial. The current discussion is a PR fail, so their vetting proces failes - no matter what specific opinion you might have on the subject.
  15. I believe it has something to do with the dialogue response you choose initially as well. If you respond with something outside the tenants of the faith of Skaen, the pool tells you it can't make use of you. (or something like that). Thanks, i'll try different options in my 2nd playthrough
  16. Actually, there was a choice. They asked me if I wanted to change in light of what happened. I chose to change it so that they can concentrate on the game instead of this PR nightmare. They weren't going to change it, they asked ME if I wanted to. I can find another platform to write my controversial crap, and I will. They, on the other hand, did the right thing and allowed me to decide the fate of the epitaph. I chose to turn into something that made fun of the bitch-bastards that were complaining. They went above and beyond what I would have expected them to do. Now that we've got the real facts from Firedorn himself can we move on? Thank you for reposting this, moving on.
  17. One level doesn't mean that much imo. Custom companions make up for it with good stats, good ability selection, and better synergy. If you are a completionist, you will hit the level cap at the beginning of chapter 3, anyway...
  18. I couldn't sacrifice anyone (no companion, no custom party member). Maybe too many points in benevolent/no points in cruel?
  19. You are stuck with the recipes you know from the beginning. The only recipe you can find is the one you get for saving the Cook in Gilded Vale.
  20. Might i ask why? It's a lively discussion, some over the top reactions (OMG censorship, never buy again etc.) as always, but no/barely criticism of the LGBT-community, no god invoking bible-belters etc. For a discussion on a message board, it's quite civil imo Edit: Just saw your response to Darji, and i don't agree. I think a big majority of the posters are quite civil and try to agrument, not just argue. Refreshing, especially compared to flame wars on some FPS or RTS boards, or on YT.
  21. There is no transgender mentioned in the original poem. Yeah i guess transgender was just an assumption. Whatever the reason for the mixup, the joke's on the guy who ended his own life cause couldn't deal with the fact he had sex with a man. I mean, thats sad. If that happpened to me, i'd maybe ask myself if i was BI somehow, or if i should drink less, but i certainly wouldn't kill myself....
  22. Hehe, well said. I think the problem wasn't one to begin with, but if the devs are more comfortable with the changed version, thats their choice. A game doesn't have to be a platform for controversies the authors don't intend (even if the controversy itself seems ridiculous). A game is no public forum, and if the authors themselves make changes (no external agents), its certainly not censorship...
  23. People in English native land don't have hardships so they occupt themselves by making them up. Well, we have those non-problems in europe too . Just wasn't sure why transgender people would be offended, doesn't seem like a hate speech or a hate-joke (if thats the correct word)
