KotOR2 Patch
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to The Guildmaster's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Its also Obsidian's fault as well. They signed on with those buggers. Gods, I hope Feargie learns from this and never do business with them again. -
They get 5 + 1/2 Level (rounded down) for base classes per level of experience. Advance and Prestige classes gain 6 + 1/2 Level (rounded down) per level of experience. So a first level soldier would only get 5 action points. When he achieves 2nd level he gains 6 more, but once they are gone they are gone till the character gains another level.

What old game would you like to see..
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Computer and Console
Handhelds are rather worthless. -
First off an action point has several uses. Its primary use is to increase one's chance of success. Before you roll to hit, make a save role, or roll for a skill check you can use the action point. This can increase the total roll by 1d6. At higher levels the player can roll multiple d6s but only use the highest die. The second use of action points is the activation of special abilities and feats. However only 1 action point can be used in a round no matter what. Temporary ability damage heals 1 point per day with normal rest. One heals 2 points a day if one is doing complete bed rest. If one is under the care of a skilled healer, which is a person who has ranks in Treat Injury and makes a DC 15 skill check for the day if memory serves), the healing rate is doubled. As for the self cost question, the answer is yes. Also about the talent question. If a character has a +2 bonus to damage attacks one who has the +2 damage reduction the damage reduction negates the +2 bonus of the other character, but you really don't add/subtract things like that in the course of the game. One character assesses all his modifiers and pits them against the other character who has assessed all his modifiers and we let the dice lay where they roll so to speak. Bottomline it depends on the individual talent and feat and how the players are using them. Initiative order does play a role in some cases but not all. Such as the Damage Reduction talent is considered always on, while a talent that has requires the use of an action point requires the player to state that he is activating that ability. I hope that clarifies some things.

While this is a very interesting discussion I am finished working on one of the Classes for the campaign. I am using a very modified d20 Modern System just to warn you. Here is the Soldier class, the fighter type for the campaign. Tell me what you think? I want there to be options for the player, depending on the style in which he wants to play.

So uh, why was KOTOR2 rushed?
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to -Zin-'s topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If the game was released before it is done it is rushed. If LA and Obsidian sent it out on schedule thenit was their schedules that was wrong. Either way you look at it the game is unfinished and both LA and Obsidian are to blame. SO far they have done next to crap to fix the game. One patch isn't going to do it. Needing a internal QA staff is obvious to any one. I guess Feargus failed his Duh check with KotOR 2. -
Did you vote for "Game of the Year"
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to mike12's topic in Computer and Console
Personally if I am going to play a game that has the name "Empire" in it it should give me large areas to explore and travel in. After all what is the point? Franlky I would have rather walked to the capital than take a flyer. -

Does anyone else share my dislike of d20?
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to Jediphile's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
Who says they mean little? They help define the character. Here is a sample of one Talent tree for the Intelligence ability: Quick Thinking Talent Tree Smart heroes with this talent tree are capable of such rapid extrapolations of logic that they gain bonuses on various checks and rolls, thanks to their sharp minds. Keen Reflex: Smart heroes with this talent add their Intelligence modifier in addition to any other modifiers that normally apply to all Reflex saving throws. Keenly Skilled: Select three of the skills listed in the following paragraph. The Smart hero adds a bonus equal to his Intelligence modifier in addition to his normal modifiers when making a check with that skill. The normal ability modifier does not apply. A smart hero can take this talent multiple times; each time it applies to a different set of three skills. Bluff, Climb, Diplomacy, Disguise, Drive, Handle Animal, Jump, Perform (any single skill), Pilot, Profession (any single skill), Ride, Sense Motive, Survival, and Swim. Perspicacious Response: Smart heroes with this talent add their Intelligence bonus to their Initiative checks instead their Dexterity modifier. Any other modifiers will normally apply to Initiative checks. Greater Perspicacious Response: Smart heroes with this talent add their base Intelligence to their Initiative checks in addition to their Dexterity modifier and any other modifiers that normally apply to Initiative checks. Prerequisites: Perspicacious Response, Keen Reflex. Here is one from the Dexterity Ability: Precision Talent Tree Characters with this talent tree are experts with ranged weapons. They have keen eyesight and are experienced at judging distance. Precision: The Fast Hero with this talent gains a +1 bonus to damage with all ranged weapons. Improved Precision: The Fast Hero with this talent gains an additional +1 bonus to damage with all ranged weapons. (+2 total) Prerequisite: Precision. Advanced Precision: The Fast Hero with this talent gains an additional +1 bonus to damage with all ranged weapons. (+3 total) Prerequisite: Precision, Improved Precision. Precise Critical: When a character with this talent strikes a critical hit with a ranged weapon, the target also suffers 2 points of temporary Constitution damage. Prerequisites: Precision, Improved Precision, Advanced Precision. Each Ability Score has between 3 to 6 talent trees like this to help define the character. -
Does anyone else share my dislike of d20?
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to Jediphile's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
Classes start off very general and fluidic, which you are not dictated class abilities. You choose them. Hit Points are handled more realistically. If you take more than equal your Constitution damage in a single hit you need to make a Fortitude save or die (GMs have the choice of starting off at Dying at -1 hit points or just have the character be dead instantly). In that set up there is no such thing as falling 200+ feet and getting up from it (unless you are very very very lucky). Also the level system is self correcting and versitile... if used correctly. -

Domn't be lumping DnD and Star Wars as being the pinnacle of the d20 System. They aren't. The best version of the d20 System is d20 Modern. You can customize your characters with different Occupations, Talents, Feats, it has better rules for Hit Points, though I do prefer the baseline 3.5e for subdual. With its Tier class system of Basic, Advance, and Prestige classes you can make thousands of unique character types. -
Very nice read.

The Fall is finally going to be released

Oh, you mean the game that will be Morrowind with Guns and have zero to do with the previous Fallout CRPGs except in name only? I'll pass on that. Fallout is dead. -

The Fall is finally going to be released
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to EnderAndrew's topic in Computer and Console
That is good news. With a lack of sci fi CRPGs I plan on getting it. -
Normally I am a self-involved cynic with nothing better to do than be unpleasant but I have some happy news and it has nothing to do with car insurance. When I started my new job back in February I weighed at a lard-arse 340 pounds. Five months later I am now 290 pounds. Losing 10 pounds a month seems a rather healthy way of doing it and I am very happy about the progress, but now its time to take the next step. Starting tomorrow I am going to walk to and from work instead of taking the bus. It would be a good 3 mile walk round trip. If I don't kill myself by Wednesday I'll keep doing it. My goal is to be around 240 around December and be at my goal weight of 190 by next summer. At that point I will no longer be so self conscious about my appearance and have the confidence to date again. WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Yes, I am still self involved cynic, but currently a much happier self-involved cynic.

KotOR II Movie/Music Patch Coming Soon
6 Foot Invisible Rabbit replied to funcroc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Only thing that I care about is the bottomline. Is the patch out? Nope. When did they say it would be out? Soon, MONTHS AGO. What is LA's and Obsidian's credibilty right now? In the negatives.
