A. Those things have nothing tod o with rushing. B. Those issues were nowhere near as bad as they are in KOTOR2.
-
"I'm gonna post an almost Visc" Yo Drak, what's up? Someone forgot their reading glasses to day. Read that line again. This time use your brain cells.
-
"Now picture that with having an argument about the best course of action eye-to-eye ith your mage, in first person view." I'm gonna post an almost Visc: If BG3 can only be played in 1st perosn view; I will *not* buy it. That is all.
-
"There's also the matter of the right place to complain. If there was a meeting of people that liked their car and it was working fine, would you pick that place to voice your problems? Of course not. You'd go to customer support (ie, the tech support forum)." The message baords - all of them - are the PERFECT place to voice complaints and concerns; not just the tech support forum.

Can we truly judge Obsidian based solely on KOTOR2
Volourn replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Of course I'm gonna judge them solely on KOTOR2. Afterall, I cna't really judge them on their 'other' games can I? R00fles! -
"It shipped broken with regards to spell casting and even now (hotu) it cant switch between melee and ranged weapons." You've been caught. HOTU,a nd even SOU it does switch weapons. Nice try though. Shadow Troll. "Still keep the laughs coming it's obvious you have given up on being taken seriously and just play your new troll role these days." Taken serious by who? You? Sorry, but I don't worry what someone who thinks 3rd person games will be dead soon takes seriously. Keep up the entertainment. P.S. Staionary AI in KOTOR2 simply does not work. Period.
-
Problem is that the KOTOR2 npcs don't relaly listen. They pretty much ignore most of your commands unless your directly control them. The only AI set up that seems to work reasonably well is the Jedi AI one. That gets a from me. As for FO; read the first page.
-
"There mere fact that there was no stationary and ranged AI in the first game just shows what a crock you speak." Huh? You had ranged AI in FO. As for stationary AI; they had it as much as KOTOR did for sure. At least FO npcs don't sit there when their thumbs up their behinds. "Next you will be saying the NwN AI is better" NWN's AI is 100x better than KOTOR1 or 2. There is no comparison. Only someone who thinks 3rd eprosn view is going out of style would be dumb enough to suggest otherwise.

"Crappy storytelling because they can't think of a new primary twist other than "YOUR LURVE INTEREST TURNS EVILE!!! ZOMG!!!" Really? You better replay BIO games again. This isn't even close toa common theme. Only NWN OC, and KOTOR1 had this and they didn't even have to be your love interest. But, hey, nice try. The various stories of the games are different though they do share similarities. That doens't make them carbon copies though. Still trying to figure out how you can post that Troika pushed advances with their games yet BIO didn't. That's a R00fles and a half. And, no sorry, funny faces in BL and getting closest to the D&D rules set in TOEE is not pushing nothing. The fact you think BL has better combat than FO kinda weakens your opinions in this thread. Offense intended.

I'd wager it be KOTOR3. If not, it likely be a new Ip by them....
-
No wonder we all have egos who think our opinions #1 - This is the board boss' way of feeding our egos even more. Hahahahahahahahahahhahahaha.
-
Outisde of the (now fixed) spelling mistakes; I agree.
-
"The AI is better than the first game you just have to know which settings to use where." No, it isn't. Not even close. And, it doens't matter what setting you use. They alls uck. Half the time, npcs just stand there jerking off; the other half they do nothing butattack unaware of brains. FO's AI is better. Easily.

"Jades certainly not generating the same buzz as KOTOR or KOTOR II did at the moment (over here at least) " Huh? It's always in the 'Most Wanted' and 'Most Anticpated' columns for 2005. Previews for it are a dime a dozen. It's everywhere. The onyl palce it hasn't been advertised is tv. "Dragon Age is almost going to be a competitor to NwN depending how things work out." A year a part? I think not. besdies, BIO makes money off of NWN2 anyways. "I think the game of theirs that 'pushed' the most, even though it wasn't in the RPG genre, was MDK2, with it's weapons creation system and story in a shooter. " You on crack. BG is what put RPGs back on the map; not FO. Though Diablo helped in its non RPG way. "Most of Bioware's RPGs from Baldur's Gate onwards have been rehashes of the same story with setting/NPC plot differences. Most of the tech in their games I'd seen used before in other games." Absolutely false. They have similaries; but only fools would actually think they're simply 'rehashes'. "had to say anyone in recent years had 'pushed' the genre it would be Troika, but they screwed up pretty dang bad, as well as not putting the polish into their games they should've. Meh." This is wher eyour opinion falls apart. the only thing Troika pushed was buggy games, and heck, Obsidian seems to have followed the trend. Hoepfully, Obsidian won't follow Troika's trend of blaming the publisher. R00fles! SP: Many D&D games bombed. Why do you think the Gbs eries stopped? "I'm overjoyed they are dumping the diablo gameplay of NwN but stacked up against a D&D game," Hilarious considering the fact that NWN has the deepest gameplay of *any* of BIo's games. R00fles!

You insider? No? Then you don't know that for sure. The end.
-
Huh? Yes, they do.
-
Yeah, if Dantooine was DESTROYED in KOTOR1 than how the spaghetti did we get to go there in KOTOR2? No. logic. found. R00fles!
-
Um. No duh.
-
-
Um.. When planning future gamnes; you have to be able to preidct what will be "in" in the future. Obviously, BIo feels that in 2007 non 1st person games will still be "in". You need the reality clue.

Review/Rant/Hopes for the future
Volourn replied to chibijulian's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Intelligence for skill points makes a lot fos ense. Afterall, intelligence is what dtermines one's ability to learn. You could be the most dexteriosu being in the world; but if youa re retarded youa ren't gonna learn how to pick that lock properly.. -
Uh.. All neat info; but what does that ahve to do with what I posted? I think it's obvious they are focusing on NWN2 which is to be expected.. Afterall, BIo still does things for NWN; but I doubt NWN is their main focus - JE and DA are..
-
Avellone posted once about Kreia being a rip off of Palpatine.
-
"It's quite likely. What you love or hate dosnt come into it, its what the market dictates." You better inform BIo that all games will be first person and get them to switch DA to 1st person as I think they seem to be ignoring what the market 'dictates'. R00fles!

A Big ********* To Obsidian and LA

"I doubt Bioware would have done any better, the story for sure wouldn't have been as good." No proof, troll.
