  1. NWK: It's great we agree on most stuff; but I'll concentrate on the stuff we disagree since reagreeing is boring. "disagree. i liked this feature. it might not have been implemented as best as it could have, but i thought it was a neat feature, especially considering it didnt happen TOO much. once on peragus, twice on nar shadaa, once on dxun, once on malachor (only briefly too)." I found it happen toof requently. It was ok in KOTOR1 'cause it happened once. My biggest beef, however, is the fact the game ends if say Atton dies even though the PC is still alive. That is just silly. My character is alive; but I gotta reload? WTF? "disagree. this happens in other games as well when you get "trained" by someone through dialogue." Like I said. i have no problem with being trained - ie. Handmaiden teaching you how to fight naked, or Kreai teaching you force powers. I'm talking about increasing ability scores. And, oh, just ebcause other games do it; doens't mean it's ok..
  2. "sorry I'm a girl too" I never said I was a girl. I just said don't assume I'm a boy either. I can be eitehr one or even better, I can be a robot.
  3. More serious wants: 1. HK-47 and T3-M4 to return. I think they have a lot to add. 2. The ability for Bastila, and a few npcs from the first and second games to able to join you when you reach a reasoanbly high level 9so they aren't hit by a silly mind wipe). 3. 6 reasonably sized planets - not just 2 overland, 2 underland mpas. *yawn* 4. No NPC to be forced on the player. The PC should have the option to kick party members out... but, there cna be consequences that occur. ie. A NPC who isn't happy being booted turning to the dark side or what not. 5. Able to play non Jedi classes. 6. Not forced to control npcs without PC around. And, I don't want the game to end if they land up dying solo. KTORO2 was about the Exile so why doe sit end if Atton is assassinated? LAME. 7.The ability to wholly influence npcs; and not just the other way around. 8. If the story has a plot twist; let it not be so dependent on it by making it fall apart by having the PC have to fake being stupid untilt he 'reveal'. 9. CHALLENGING COMBAT! This means npcs must use feats, skills, items, force powers, and intelligence as often as possible (within reason). 10. No more getting stat boosts just by talking to npcs. That's silly. Learning new skills, feats, or possible may occur; but ability scores don't get boosted just because you made nice with someoneone. And, for old times sake,... I don't want to be the Non Last Jedi Not Jedi crap...
  4. Who's fighting and who says we're boys? Don't ASSume; it's embarassing!
  5. "Sadly, Obsidian didn't have the luxury that several other developers have (almost everyone of them): To delay the release." Thems the breaks. "I wouldn't call a will to stay alive greedy. They are new and need to establish themselves. Perhaps you haven't noticed, but the ethics and morals of most people will often find itself ignored in favour of such things as eating." Not my fault people are weak. "So you base that on one game? The jedi knights games, for example, were no work of art. In fact, I can't recall a single game (with the exception of KotOR) since about 95 when the windows version of TIE fighter was released that was much to look at, or anything but clones of the exact same thing with different graphics." Seems to me people have been enjoying LA games for years, or esle they'd be out of business a long time ago.
  6. Mesh: Um.. She lied about many things; but not that. I don't think she actaully expresses that you *will* die if she dies; but you *may* die. Only at the end when you threaten to kill her does she taunt you with the pausibility; but with awareness you can taunt her right back that you know that's it's not likely and if it does occur it'll be worth it. <> Malaovon: Thanks. Who are you, btw?
  7. "They could've passed, but that would've been a bad idea regardless of the time fram. Obsidian is a new company, they need to get games out on the market ASAP. A KotOR sequel is too big to pass on." Game over. This proves it wa sjust about the money for Obsidian. I mean who cares if they knew the duration was too short. They were gonna do it. If LA had told them get it done in 6 months; they would ahve taken the job anyways. *yawn* Seems to be if we go by YOUR theory; Obsidian is just another greedy corporate entity. I disagree. My theory is more kind to Obsidian. When LA first told them they had x amount of time; Obsidian may have thought it was short; but felt cpaable enough to make the attempt. Sadly, not all things work out and they planned a certain amount fo things and realzied too late they planned for too much - hence the cuts, and haphazard things we see.. No great cosnpriacy; not just about money; just normal human mistakes. "LA is not exactly known for their desire to produce quality games." False. One just has to look at the quality ofg KOTOR1 to see that's not true. Not to mention, LA has made quality game either as a publisher or a developer. Nice try; though.
  8. Despite me picking on KOTOR2's (many) faults; I did enjoy the game. It had a lot of good things going for it. The greater use of skills in dialogue is one of the thinsg I really liked. P.S. Is that positive enough for ya, Di? P.S. "They asked you nicely dude... if you dont have blinde love for this game then get moving to a bitch thread" Why? Those who are overly positive surely don't seem to have a problem posting Happy Happy thoughts on the game in negative threads? Turnabout is fair play. P.S.S. I was gonna stick with posiitviety until people decided that they somehow own individual threads. <>
  9. Talking about programming errors... <> And, oh, the AI is stupid. Don't worry about it. Mines can't really kill or hamr you seriosuly enough once you reach 5th level anyways..
  10. "So? It's a ridiculously short time to develop a game regardless of when it was decided. I'm quite amazed Obsidian managed to do what they did, given the situation. If I tell you that you have until tomorrow to develop cold fusion, is it your fault if you fail?" a. They knew the deal when they signed the contract. if they thought just over a year was too short of time to develop the game properly they coulda *gasped* passed or convined LA intelligently they needed more time. Instead, they pretended it was enough time - just read their posts pre release. Never once do i remember them saying the duration was too short. b. Are you forcing me on pain of death; or was it my choice? If I chose to signa contract knwoing when you required the cold fusion; yes; it would be my fault. "Heh, so you figured out that she wanted to have revenge on Atris, Sion, Nihilus, the Jedi Counsil and she wanted to destroy the force after leaving Telos?" That's right. I also knew exactly what everyone would say to me word for word.
  11. There will be. $$$
  12. No, it ws Obsidian. The game was always scheduled to be released between December and this month. The schedule wasn't really changed. Why are people making that an issue?
  13. "Almost true, you knew that she was evil almost from the start. But her reasons eluded me until the ending." Meh. It was obvious. Her motivation was hate. Pure (or unpure) hate. HATE. HATE. HATE. What I laugh at is how the PC is forced to act 'surprised' when she betrays and slaughters the last 3 Jedi Masters. I mean, seriously, that was no surprise. R00fles!
  14. Wow, you totally missed the point.
  15. Huh? KOTOR2 had a "plot twist". Problem is it was obvious and evenw orse you could do even less about it than KOTOR's. Afterall, you had to pretend that kreia was on your side.
  16. I think I'm mostly with the KOTOR characters though the Kreia-Bastila and Kreia-Jolee battles are close. If it wans't for Kreais' total domination of the game's story and obviousness of it; I'd likely have favored her slightly...
  17. Uhuh. That's right. LA went out of their way to FORCE Obsidian to get rid of this feature. Haha. For some reason; I have my doubts... <>
  18. "Okay... now I'm impressed!" Eh. You gonna make me even more arrogant. <> Espicially since I cooked that silliness up in 5 minutes.. Anyways, as for the poll, Visas just didn't impress me. She was supposedly a Dark Jedi at the start; but she *never* struck me as one. She always felt to me as an unwilling slave; not some faithful servant to her ex master.... Handmaiden r0xs.
  19. "Wow, that would've been cool...albeit a writer's nightmare." Nah. Speaking as a wannabe writer; it's a wet dream to be so cruel. Though; players could get real upset if you kill their favorite (which would likely be the ones they have high influence with) so you'd have to be careful with it. Maybe, have her kill the npc with most or second most influence (random chance), and also possibly turn one or two of the least influenced npcs against the PC. Think of this scenario: Light Side male PC with the Handmaiden as a love interest with high influence with Bao Dur and Atton; but low influence with Mandolore and HK-47. When the PC is doing something solo (aka the chase through the poisonous bar) is when Kreia makes her move. Using sneaky force powers and some sith slaves she sneaks onto the ship. Most of the npcs are not there (doing whatever they do when the PC is gone); but the important ones happen to be on the ship. She kills Bao Dor (killing a highly influenced old friend of the PC), leaves Atton battered and bruised after torture (so he can tell the PC specifically what happened as to make it clear to the PC that it is HIS fault it happened), and takes the Handmaiden hostage to be used against the PC at a pivotal time later on in the game. During this time, she uses her persuasiveness to convince that the Exile isn't as honourable as he thought (due to low influence with mandolore by the PC this should be eaisly) and rewires HK-47 to think of the PC as a assassination target. Mandolore leave back for Dxun to prepare his Mandolorians to join the Sith assault on Onderon (or even Citedal Station) making Mandalore one of the 'main villains'; but believeably so as Kreia promises his soldiers glory in battle. HK-47, meanwhile, is instructed to strike at the 'right' time... Ok, ok. That makes all sound over complicated; but that's me being all over the place. End of spam.
  20. "Kreia (unless you're Volourn)" Eh. She is nasty. I also like the character. I just think she was hammered home too much.. I think the best bet would be the player having a way to be able to kick her out fo the party which, of course, would make her real mad and the pain would really start flying. ie. PC has had enough of her antics so they kick her out. Sadly, this damages her plan and she now goes about 'punishing' her 'pupil' by slowly picking off the PCs - likely targetting the ones that the PC has the highest influence with to really hammer things home teahcing the PC about loss (and what happens when you piss off old crones). THAT would be cool. Much better than foricng the player to follow a linear story even though the player knows Kreia pretty much the one pulling all the strings.
  21. My wants are simple: I don't want to be the Not Last Non Jedi Jedi. That is all.
  22. "hell I played KOTOR some 60+ times before TSL came out)" BLANK me up with a spagehtti driver! That's all i gots to say...
  23. "Sion is hunting you because he believes you are the last Jedi it's even in his dialogue." Scion doens't count. he's retarded. Only a lameo wouldn't know about the other Jedi. I did the T3 thing. All it does is brighten up the baloney into even more fakedness.
  24. Once again, it was known by many folks that other Jedi still existed. The question is how can anyone who has palyed this game continually defend this lame aspect of it. You are not the Last Jedi. You ar enot even the Last Known Jedi. You arne't even a Jedi. And, most o fhte big wigs actually know this. But, hey, who am I to repeatedly trounce on others fabled myths..
  25. Did, it does nothing but make things even more stupid.
