Crappy games tend not to have too many fan made mods. MW is the exemption; not the rule.

Interview at EA: Tips on recognizing bugs?
Volourn replied to Oerwinde's topic in Computer and Console
2004 was nowhere near the best in the NHL series. Nowhere near. 200, for exmaple, was awesome. So was '96 IIRC. And, besides, all they had to do in 2004 is add to an already great game. Maybe if they hire the one who started this thread, they'll have Q to make sure 2005 is fixed. -
The characters had depth? Really? Kreia had no depth. She was one dimensional. Inetrsting character; but not deep. Wanting to destory the force because of unwarranted pure hate is not depth.

I did like KOTOR1. I like KOTOR2 almost a smuch. big difference is I didn't expect all that much from KOTOR1. I expected ana wesome game in KOTOR2. It didn't deliver that. It just delivered a KOTOR1 with easier combat, better sue of skills, buggier, and writing that while soemtimes brillant was often horrible and lame.

Learn. Before I started playing the NFl games way back whgen they first came out; I wans't a big fan of the NFL either. The game is what got me interested in the sport... -
No. I got more than what i epxcted with KOTOR1. I'm not the biggest fan of SW; but like BIO games so i evetnually gave the game a shot thinking it might be ok; but not great... was, I surprised... I epxect Obsidian to make a game in KOTOR2 that completely improved KOTOR1 in EVERY way. Sadly, I was wrong.

Fifa's fun. I liked NHL 2004 more too; but 2005 wasn't dumbed down. NBA was horrible as it has been for eyars. NFl is awes, and keeps getting better everywhere. Sometiems theyc na be worse; but never stagnate. Theya re always twisting and trying to improve on the past. Of course, sometimes it backfires on them and they "accidently" get rid of the good stuff.. -
I was satisfied; but I expected more - espicially with the dialogue. So overrated...

Their sports games aren't dumbed down. Nice try, fool. Go play DS and MW and come back to tell me that CRPGs are dumbed down or don't sell. -
Volourn's Final Jade Empire Review: I Am The Law!
Volourn replied to Volourn's topic in Computer and Console
Jade Empire isn't China. Why are people expecting China? Did people do their research. And, anyone who likes KOTOR more than JE on anything other than non weapon skills really needs help. JE is 1 million times better than KOTOR. -

You musta just missed it. I always had Dawn in my party so i cna't say if you need her or not for sure. It alsod epend what you do with Zu too. Don't forget about that woman in Tien's Landing who teaches you Spirit Thie. She had ties to Zu and the misisng baby. perhaps you missed soemthing there too. -

This is supposed to be a spoiler thread for those who have played/finished the game can disucss it. if people don't wanna read spoilers they can avoid it. There's always my 'early review' thread or they can start a new one if they wish. Anyways... "Refresh my memory. I might have just not caught on to Dawn Star's background." Dawn Star is Master Li's daughter. if you recall, the Emperor (the eldest one) had them 'killed'. However, Lu was one of the Lotus Assassins sent to kill the daughter. He couldn't do it so killed the other assassins instead and sent Dawn to, of all places, to the Three Rivers School. You learn this in the LA stronghold. In fact, you cna try to use this information against Master Li in both the ch6 final, and the ch 7 finals. However, he has one of the coldest reactions a man can have to his family I have ever seen in a game, movie, or tv show. If you can turn Dawn Star to the CF; she throws it harshly into his face as well. Good fun. -

WOW! Great post, GOA. I agree with most of your complaints even! "first couple of chapters built her up to be like the main sidekick for the PC, and built up her story to make her something important, but unless I missed something major, I never saw her background explained fully. There were hints (such as the chat between Sagacious Zu and that chick you meet at the Tea House in Tien's Landing), but her storyline was sort of dropped once Silver Fox joined the group. It almost felt like Bioware initially wanted Dawn Star to be the main love interest, but then said "nah, we like Silver Fox better so we'll use her"." You needed to do some more digigng. Her back story is in the game, and its very pertient to the main story. I could spoil you if you want... -
NWN sucks. Don't bother. Buy Witcheta Chronicles, instead, when it comes out.

Because MS wants people to also buy the xbox 360 eventually but people aren't gonna give up their older games just like that so the best way to get them both ways of all sorts is to make x-box 360 backwards capatable. I bet a good number of PS2 sales over GC and x-box was the fact that it was backwards compatbaile. I'm sure PS3 will be as well so if MS wants x-box 360 to compete on a level playing field they better buckle up and give the customers what they want in both ways. Game over.

"BTW: Why should developers Create games for Obsolete console's after the better console is there anyway???" Because the consume rbase for a new console will *always* be smaller than the customer base of a console that's been out for years. And, not everyone can afford the $500+ price tag of a new console. Period. If you are a game devloper, and you have a choice of: x-box market of 10 mil or x-box 360 market of 1 mil during the first year; you better believe that the x-box audience is gonna get the games. R00fles!

"Lucast Arts was responsible for the quality assurance of this game (making sure it works well)." Not quite. They're both responsible. Stop passing the buck. Afterall, every single bug in the game is Obsidian's doing. And, besdies, Obsidian knows they did wrong - hence why they got smart and are hiring an in house QA team for NWN2.
-
"Dragon Age will be out way before NwN2. It sounds pretty promising." No. NWN2 is 2006, and DA is 2007 at the earliest... Anyways, I'm looking forward to NWN2, DA, JE2, Madden 2006, and the best game ever Witcheta Chronicles 1.

"Actually, they could as well just release NHL 2004 in a new, shiny box, call it NHL 2006 and I'd still buy it, play it and be totally satisfied. Ignorance is bliss." Take yer blatant sarcasm elsewhere, please.
