  1. "The Bad! -Game is far to short! 25 hours to COMPLETELY finish game (all quests, all mini quests, all everything) in initial play through. This makes the price tag on JE kinda hard to justify or swallow." I agre eit's short; but I don't vlaue games really on length; but on quality. Afterall, FO1 was really short. And, the KOTORs - if you don't count Inventory Matrix - are just a short. "- Lack of Influence system. Influence ONLY matters to the love stories. All other characters you can get full and complete story from by just remembering to speak to them often." True; though the influence system it does have for roamnces is much better than he KOTOR2 one. "-Game is VERY LINEAR. Unlike KotOR2, you do not actuall have to read anything or even really pay attention to conversations. Yes you will miss a ton of content but the game is so linear that you can NOT mess up its path or get stuck at any time. Many players have played this game like you would Halo and finished it in 12 hours." Um. This is true with any RPG including KOTOR2. You don't have to read the dialogue if you choose not do in any RPG. Nothing new here. "- Game is predictable (which is to be expected as its so linear). There is no ground breaking surprises. The clues (if you read them) are very obvious as to what their meaning is. Forshadowing doesnt exist in this game Im sad to say." Not as predictable as KOTOR2. "-Mini games are top down arcade style ship fights (like Galaga nad other shooter games). Appeals to some people but not to me as I bought a RPG not a top down out of date arcade game." Kinda agree. It's fun; but I'm not its biggest fan. "-Bioware boards. Once again Bioware shows it has the most fanatical fans out there (them or Blizzard, its a real toss up). If you have any complaints or concerns about the game, do NOT use bioware boards. even the Moderaters will bad mouth you! Just go there, post Rah Rah Rah, and leave!" Not true. There have been negative posts there not being harassed. of course, if one posts 'this game sucks or this game is too short so it must suck or this game isn't a true rpg' what kind of reaction do you expect? Besides, have you tried posting that KOTOR2 isn't deep here? Youa re instantly labeled a troll. "-Closed Fist. Playing closed fist makes you feel dirty! For any player out there that prefers playing a HERO, you will find playing closed fist distasteful to the point that many players have not been able to complete it. I personally think this is a draw back and poor design." Heh. Maybe a draw back; but not poor design. As for some negative that i think you missed, there's the patheticlly long laod times, and the uselessness of followers in combat. Annoying as heck. "Above fallout and games like that but not in the league of KotOR1 or 2." It's way better than either KOTOR, and about equal to FO; but not as good as FO2. KOTOR seires is overrated. Amd, the more people priase them the more I feel like dissing them... but, i like 'em anyways. "Overall score: C+ (would be much much higher with even 10 more hours of content in initial play through)" Quantity over quality... Hmm... Rememebr,t hat JE saves you 10 hours of playing inventory matricx with the awful KOTOR inventory. Anyways, to each their own. You are kewl.
  2. JE is 100x time sbetter than either KOTOR. It's also more of a RPG then ietehr than them. "PS: Closed fist is completely unenjoyable to play as well, you actually feel DIRTY doing the deeds, some might say this is great but I personally find this to be one of its draw backs." This is one of the reasons why it's a better RPG than the KOTOR series. That said, you are cool so your opinion is 45% cool. (It be higher but you like the KOTOR series more and that's a no no in the eyes of this TRUE RPG fan :D ). P.S. I'm onyl half seriosu above. Don't take it too seriosuly like others apparantly have.
  3. "If you hated K2 so much why dont you just leave?" Um.. I like KOTOR. I just don't think it's deep. Don't tell me what to do. You aren't my master. There's lots of things I like about KOTOR2. Stop trolling. "PS: Regarding mature, you will understand when you yourself become mature, until then you will just have to take others word for it " It's obvious you aren't mature enough to handle diffeirng opinions.
  4. LOL Haha. Great entertianment, right? Then again, the person you are referring to likely thinks DS is the deepest RPG ever. (w00t) I mena he claims that there isn't multiple ways to solve quests in JE which anyone who has played it - even those who hate it - are being hoinest know that simply isn't true. But, meh.
  5. None of thos emake it deeper. And, the KOTOR1 npcs had pats just as 'grity' as KOTOR2. Afterall, a certain 13 year old was forced to fend for herself on the streets, and had a lowlife user brother. Her 'aprtner', a wookiee, had his entire planet enslaved by greedy humans as well as his own brother who he has to end up killing... The will of the force nonsense is nothing but mumbo jumbo which may sound 'deep' on the surface; but in relaity is just nonsenical nonsense that means nothing. And, to me, it felt like SW in every single way. So, nope, just extra depth. Just differing opinions. No worries.
  6. "Care to name an example ? " One can rub a mysterious fact into her father's face instead of trying to comfort him with the same fact. This same one starts off the game as baiscally sweet and naive and with the right convincing on the player's part can twist her very high ideals into darker versions and very logically yet still 'in character'...
  7. Yeah, I agree with you about the genie and Kang. Theyw er eenterianing. i love the genie's comments when you enter his store though. LOL Of cours,e he's not really a genie. per se. And, lol about the Kang twin story. :D Hey, it's just like RL. Sometimes, you bump into some with the same name!
  8. The player can influence the npc; not simply the npc influencing the player. The only thing is; not every follower cna be influenced.. I think it's just the romances...
  9. "KOTOR II: a better game--more mature story." Why do propogate this myth? How is KOTOR2's story so much more 'mature'? I mean R00fles!
  10. Yes, Death's Hand is one of them. The other is Wild Flower's second demon if you push for him to come out and then side with him at the start of ch4. This leads to WF having a very sad final ending. Poor goodies get screwed in the follower side as there are no 'good people' only followers.. <_<
  11. I like IWD1 yet couldn't even stand to finish IWD2... "And no, I don't hate you." Damn. I gots to try harder.
  12. Then there's the half done influence system (which in soem cases is done better in JE where you can actually influence crtain followers)... et.c et.c Like above, KOTOR2 is a good game. That's it; that's all. Just like KOTOR1.
  13. KOTOR2 was just a schildish, if not more so, than KOTOR1. Seriosuly, I wanna destory the Force 'cause it's evil and I hate hat hate it 'cause it hurts so much. Talk about childish. If I want maturity I'll play FO, PST, or JE.
  14. Yet he gets credit for the disgusting writing in KOTOR2. Booooooooo!
  15. Gamespot is retarded. In his own interview that you quoted; he added quests, and interaction. Let me ask you something. How did he manage that without at least doing *some* writing?
  16. Play them! Play them all!
  17. You do realize that the writer and designing positions sometimes, if not often, overlap?
  18. Not even close. It's not even in the same stratospehre. KOTOR1 & KOTOR2 are what I'd call 3rd stringers.
  19. "Just remeber the Jaheira romance bugs" I remember others suffeirng from them; but not me. I did her romance right out fo the box with no patches and no problems. " ...that game had bugs...but not a lot compared to its size" Yup. No doubt the game had bugs; but nothing epidemic considering its size.
  20. Yes. And, no, I'm not gonna explain why. I've done so too many times already. And, if you like the game, nothing I say will (nor should) change your mind. And, it'll make you hate me even more. :D
  21. "BG2 (just look at the number of fixes in Baldurdash)," BG2 wasn't buggy. Baldurdash is full of crap. I played the game multiple times, and quite frnakly its lists of bugs are either rules changes or simply not bugs. "NWN (after 65 patches, It still has known issues)" First off, don't make things up. Secondly, NWN still has bugs; but it's a much more complex game than KOTOR2. Afterall, 99% of NWN's patches have nothing to do with the main game. "Kotor1 (which after 3 patches still has a game stopping bug in the middle)" KOTOR had bugs; but nowhere near the level of KOTOR2. That's a fact. "especially since the number of CTD's can be counted on one hand in four games)." Bug wise, CTDs is not KOTOR2's problem. I, too, have not had much CTDs in KOTOR2. No wors than KOTOR in that regard. It's all the OTHER bugs that ar ethe problem.
  22. Sucks to be PC only. I'm glad my horizens are wider than yours. I'm not a console bigot.
  23. Certain parts of it, yes. The best parts. (thoguh tthe whole game was awesome)
  24. Eh. I haven't played any of the EA games on PC. Sports games aren't meant to be played on consoles; not on PC. Bah. I played hockey. I'm better playing road or floor hockey though as I suck at skating...
  25. How was it deeper? Becaue Kreia yelled for all to hear:"I will betray you but there's nothing you can do as I'm glued to you even though you firgured out my plot the nmoemnt I wasn't really dead." WOW! No. It wasn't deeper. Both KOTORs were middle of the road when it came to depth. People shoudl realzie one thing - KOTOR2 is a wannabe PST; but it isn't PST. It fails in its lame attempt of dpeth and it embarasses itself and its writer. He should stick to writing PST, and FO2 depth; not pretdn depth like in KOTOR2.... or, evemnw orse, IWD2 depth. LOL That is all.
