Hey, my post got erased! It was obvious a joke just like Eldar's comment about me was a joke! It had to be! Afterall, being claled 'French Kanadian' is a horrible insult espicially when it's true 'cause as they say, the truth hurts!!!

"Just in case anyone's interested, in the books James Bond dies. It can be done. I think without that feeling of vulnerability I lose interest in a character." Great example. A character that has nearly 20 movies, and tons of novels made about him. James Bonds has less vulnerbility than Ao does. The character survives multiple cast changes as well. Now, that's invulneribility! R00fles!

Hypocrisy. It's ok to burn a country's flag, their embassy, make fun of Christianity (with cartoons, and all other sorts of stuff); but make a few funny cartoons and people haywire. There is NO justification of this violence. None.

People who hate Drizzt either fall in one of two main groups A) They haven't or have barely read the novels - these are the people who claim that Drizzt is some perfect God creature which he is not. He makes TONS of mistakes, he loses his share of fights, etc. I urge ya to read the short story about him, and a certain goblin B) Those who feel the need to hate anything that happens to be popular because they feel the need to be different and cool.

"One of the main reasons why I didn't enter was because I felt I didn't have enough noteriety in the NWN community to garner the "popular vote." Yeah; but you'd still have the 3 mods BIO would choose themselves. Don't worry about the community; but your potential future bosses (if you had entered the contest). Remember, being a finalist in this contest doesn't guarantee employment.

Intuitive Rules - 2nd Ed. AD&D vs. D&D 3E/3.5
Volourn replied to Lancer's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
"Naturally, if you don't even have any combat, you can play without THAC0. But if you have combat, you have to deal with it somehow." Nope. Combat is very much involved. And, the people in question don't deal with it really. They simply tell me (or wheoever is the DM) what their character is doing, they roll a dice, and either the DM or the other players do the calculations - or ebtter yet we write their ab/thaco on their sheet and simply say roll the die + add that number and there ya go. No udnersatnding of thaco, attack bonus, or whatever. -
Funny. But, now you are being silly. I would never use such a small amount of playing time as a sign of a goalie's worth. Of course, the Rangers' actual back up has played about 20 games. That's not that small of a sample. And, yes, I do place stats up high. It's the best way to rank goalies 'cause like you said, one cna't watch every goalie so stats are the best way to rate goalies just like point totals or PPG are a good way to rate players (as Jagr isn't leading the NHL in PPG). But, I don't just use stats. if I did I'd be the first one bashing Ed Belfour as his stats are not that impressive this year. But, I udnerstand his team is simply dreadful. then again, I wouldn't rate Belfour as one of the best goalies this year either. Lungo is up there; but he's no elite. Elite goalies get their team into the play-offs. Hasek managed to pull it off with Buffalo. Heck, Roy won two cups in Montreal besides having a simply average team in front of him.

Intuitive Rules - 2nd Ed. AD&D vs. D&D 3E/3.5
Volourn replied to Lancer's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
"A player can't even really participate in any game without you explaining what THAC0 is." False. I've played with players who didn't know or even really care for the 'rules' in any edition or game. They played for the thoguht of being part of a group, for role-playing, for the story, or whatever. So, in conclusion, you don't need to know thaco or any other rule to play. You are, in fact, absolutely 100% wrong in your above statement. Game over. -
No. The idea that lawsuits are brought upon them. That's the retarded part. Plus, the effects of adverising is completely overrated. If they were so effective, I'd be using tampons by now. R00fles!

"even filed lawsuits against major publications: The suits alleged indirect tobacco advertising in news photos of race car drivers sporting Marlboro logos on their jumpsuits." The entire arctile pisses me off; but this part is really really really really really really really really retarded.

"Florida has won zero games with Luongo out of net." Well... maybe if they allowed the back up to play more than 380 or so minutes (about 6 games) maybe the back up would have a chance to show them something. The guy's GAA is not much worse than Lungo's though his S% is worse. In comparison, Weekes has played nearly 20 games. Of course, he has been able to win. "And when goalies start putting up GAA of 2.00 (in today's NHL), it's not just the goalie that is responsible." It's 90% goalie. Explain then why both Hask and Lunqvist's backups have GAA of about 1 full goal higher and a S% not even the same stratosphere yet they play on the same team. Espicially since the Rangers' back up was supposed to be their main starter? It's simple. Lundqvist,a nd Hasek are the reasons why the Rangers and Senators are doing so well defesnively. They make their teams better not the other way around. Afterall, if it was the teams making them better then the back ups would also have great stats... but they don't. Heck, the Rangers' bakc up is brely .500 (and counting OT losses he'd be under). Luongo is good. Possibly even great. But, he's simply not at Hasek's or Lundqvist's level. Or even Brodeur's (not that he's taken control of his game), or even that silly Calagry goalie. Lunongo is a top 10 goalie; but that's it. Fernandez (MIN), Legace (DET), and a few others are all having much better years than Lungo. And, I don't think anyone is gonna accuse Minnesota of having a stacked team.

"Die." You are worse than the whiny ones wishing death on Europe over comics. You wish me dead over preferring one engine over another. Isn't wishing death on another poster grounds for a banning or at least a warning? R00fles!
-
"IMO Hasek and Lundqvist both have much better teams in front of them." Not true for the Rangers. Want proof? Check out the Senator back up stats, and compare with Hasek's. Then do the same with Lundqvist's back up. Really big difference. Lundqvist simply makes the Rangers' defense look better than it actually is. Senators are a great team. The Rangers pretty much rely on two players who make the rest of the team look better then they truly are. Hence, why even though the Rangers ar eplaying well are likely not going to go past the 2nd round. edit: Oops, seems I rememebred wrong. Hask's back up sucks as well. So yeah, Lundqvist and Hasek both make their teams look good not the other way around.

Besides, it's called backlash. The 'cool' people HAVE to hate all things popular. It's a rule. I mean, some people even HATE icecream! WTF?

"The absolutely best hockey is played in the Olympics and not the NHL or any other league." No. Kinda hard to believe that when they have 10-0 games. Even the worst teams in the NHl don't normally suffer that kind of loss. "how about NOT playing 82 totally pointless games before the playoffs!" Not pointless games. the Olympics ar epointless as it's a bigoted event all about bashing other countries and the right to claim x country is better than y country. "Lessen the amount of games to 60 and I am sure you'll see a real decrease of serious injuries during the season." Uh. Obviously. Less games = less chance to get hurt. Duh. "It's not the Olympics that are hurting the players, it's the constant pressure to perform day in and day out for almost a year in the NHL that's the culprit." NHL is more important than the Olympics. for one thing, they get paid REAL money; not fake money. It is their job afterall. The Olympics give nothing to the players. The NHl does. "I'll be the first to say Luongo is better than Belfour." Possible. " IMO he's the best goalie in the league" Your opinion is wqrong. That's Hasek. Even the Rangers' rookie is much better than the overrated (yet good) Luongo. "Jagr is too good this year." Only because Jagr is the Rangers' offense. Alfredsson is just one of a bunch of gtreat offensive players on Ottawa. Yeah, yeah. Rangers have other gifted point producers like Prucha and a fe wothers but they live off of Jagr. This is why Jagr should be MVP if he and the Rangers keep up their good play.

People who threaten violence over cartoons are scumbags. Religion is irrelevant here.

"Isn't the game balanced for a PC and 1 henchman?" The OC was. SOu was too. hOTU was balanced with 2 henchmen in mind. If someone were going to remake BG2 they'd likely balance it with PC +5 others in mind to remina accurate with the original game. Some people pretend to know games but they don't apparantly.

"Of course he 1 henchmen limit would definitely put a damper on things." What 1 henchmen limit? There is NO limit. At all. Zero. Nadda. Zilch. P.S. The Infinity was/is awesome; but it's dead,d ead, dead. LONG LIVE AURORA!

"What innocent are you talking about? Do you mean the elf girl that seeked revenge on the basis of a misunderstanding? I was happy she got killed anyway, since she had turned to the dark side of the force" A good goblin. It was in a short story in 'Heroes of Faerun' anthology. Very good story, and a sad ending to boot. "munchkin dark-elf" He's no munchkin.

Those weren't Obsidian games. Different games, different company, different rules.

"(KotOR 1 has sold 2 million to this date)." Over 2.5 mil at last count. Anyways, interview sounds awesome though I'm sure Hades will hate it as it pimps the fact their goal is to frustrate the gamer which means when they error on difficulty; they'll likely error on the side of easy. It does show that Obsidian knows what they're doing unlike a certain other game company that had ties with BIS/Interplay. R00fles!

"PST had the same combat style as Bg and IWD." No, it was different. It had FFish spells, it had FFish equipment making the characters in combat the same. There's also the fact that PST's combat was EASY. And, don't tell me the focus of PST wans't combat because it's irrelevant as PST had quite a bit of combat and 99.9% of it plainly sucked. Same combat engine sure; but horribly used. Even IWD2 had wayyyy better combat.
