2nd period collapse of epic proportions!!!
-
"Canadiens! It's an "E" damnit!" French is overrated, and I type that while being French biologically. "Montreal has only scored 4 first period goals this month. The vast majority (80-90%) of their goals have been in the second and third." Not like the Ranger shave given up all that many 2nd and 3rd period goals, anyways. Did you see Lundqvist's GAA for the past 38 games? WOWSERS! "You know Volo I think it may be better for the Rangers to play jersey in teh first round. No Madden and Elias means even less scoring from the Devils." I'm not worried about the Devils' scoring skill. It's their evil goalie I'm worried about. Heh.
-
I just hope they avoid the Devils. I don't worry about the Sabres or TB/Atlanta (their other possible opponents) as much. Save the Devils for the second round when the Rangers have some more confidence. They can't get swept again, and Lundqvist certainly has to play better than he did last year in the play offs or else he might start getting the label of 'regualr season goalie' which I hope he doesn't. He gets 3 chances to prove me wrong. R00fles! P.S. Good luck to the Kanadians scoring more than 2 goals tonight or even scoring in the first period at all since it's been 10 games since the Rangers aka Lundqvist have surrendered a 1st period goal. L0LLERZ!

Nothing wrong with that, i think. As lonfg as there are choices, and consequences. Though, imo, it should take awhile to deal with your fellow Islands. I like the 24-48 hour idea. Make the island rather large too so you aren't bumping into each other every 5 minutes. Not to mention add in animals that must be avoided, or even agroup of 'watchers' whoa re on the island making sure the game goes as planned. Lots of interetsing thinsg cna occur to keep the Island interesting before the grand finale.

G3 > G1 + G2 But, you'd probably disagree because it's me. Heh.

"But that degenerates to a very basic idea of killing bad guys" Not neccessarily. Under the right circusmatnces, and a high speech skill; dialogue can be used to 3either convince the ones who set it that theyw ere wrong or get the public at alrge to turn on them. Some people have tunnel vision and cna only see violence. See outside the box.

He's hot; but did you check out Lundqviust's stats. He's been hot for like 3 months. 8 goals in 5 games is pretty much what he's been giving up for those 3 months. "Lundqvist won five starts in a nine-day span from March 17-25, allowing only three goals in the five victories while stopping 132 of 35 shots, carrying the Rangers past a half-dozen rivals and into sixth in the East. Yeah; but with only around 100 + a handulf of other npcs in the 'game world'; you really cna't have the amount of combat a typical action rpg (even a rpg focused one like JE). Or even the amount of combat a so called full on RPG like FO, BG, or NWN2 had. Even if you throw in animals as extra fodder (or possibility to befriend those). Still an action rpg could work. My point though, you could make a rpg out of this scenario if it was wished. The action rpg would posisbly sell more if the populist theory is to be believed; but I don't think thsoe who'd be interested in a BR tpe game would be into it for the action part for the most part; but the psychology/choices in tough situation part.
-
Doesn't even have to be ana ction RPG. In fact, it could be rtaher possible to make it so the PC can avoid most combat much like in FO. It be hard for the PC to so espciially if they meet an npc with violent tendencies; but they could always have the option of running, hiding, or gaining help from a fighter who would join them.

"Sounds more fitting for an FPS than an RPG. The concept lacks in story and focuses on combat. Ultimately," I completely, and utterly disagree. I think a scenario like Battle Royale (though I haven't seen it; but I'v seen certain movies that had the basic premise) would make for a great role-playing game. I think Jast bended to your will way too easy. His (or her)'s idea for a BR type RPG is fantastic. Let's first squash your silly idea about what RPGs are. A. You say this would lack a story. That's bullocks. The story here is not epic heroic quest; but one of survival. A RPG doesn't need a super duper tight story to be ARPG; just a solid foundation for role-playing your character. This game has it in spades. B. Focus on combat. Not really sorry. First off, the idea that hints at that a RPG can only be a good RPG if there is no or very little combat. This is bogus. The amount of combat is irrlevevant in determining if a game is a RPG. The only that matters to a RPG is role-playing - choosing how your character is gonna act in the different situations they are in. In this proposed game, the PC will be able to decide if they'll 'play the game' as ordered and start killing the others. Or they could try to team up and get off the island and get back at their captors. or even eventually making a plea to those who put them in the situation in the first palce. Plenty of oppurtunity to join up with others, become a lone wolf, hide out, etc., etc. Add that to a solid stat/skills based system; and this good be a terrific rpg (or even action rpg if you prefer the combat to be real time) to determine what your character is capable of - perhaps he's a brute who is physically fit; but has a rather low IQ so he can be manipulated. Or perhaps, he's a rather intelligent; but devious punk who enjoys causing pain to others. Or, perhaps, he's a charismatic leader type who can possibly convince the others to work together (but not guaranteed to succeed and 'wooing' everyone since not everyone could be convinceable). Add on to this, the numerous chances for multiple endings, multiple ways to interact with other characters, this could be a super duper awesome classic RPG. Game over, FAKE RPGers, game over.

Bah humbug.
-
That's luidcrous. if it was canned for that reason; that's just dumb.
-
Did you play NWN2? That was avery linear game... Hmmm...
-
It would have been neato to se eit release just to see how it turned out plus to read all the whining how BG was 'consolized'. R00fles!

Hopefully, this will put to rest that silly rumour that obsidian ever purchased the IWD license. that was nonsensical from the get go. As for the IWD3, I'd buy it, and likely enjoy it; but it's far from being 'must have' list. Better off just making abother D&D dungeonc rawl. It's not like the IWD name guarantees millions of sales.
-
It's selling decently; but not liek the Wii or XBOX 360. Not too surprising. I think the price tag is simply too rich for many people's blood. You could buy at least 2 Pee Pees for that amount.

"Isn't that what has happened anyway with the overly-aggressive intervention in Iraq?" Encouraged them to do what? What exctly has the US encouraged their enmies since the Iraq War/ Say mean things to them? "The only "friend" that is left is Great Britain in case you haven't noticed thanks to Bush." O RLY? You are wrong. the US still has LOTS of friends including amongst them are GB, Kanada, Australia, France, Japan, South Korea. They have tons more too. "Al Qaeda is making a major comeback," Define major. I doubt tyhis is true. Youa r elikely mistyaking AQ with the Taliban. Two completely different groups, and the Taliban aren't making a major comeback. Just a harder push likely out of desperation. " the civil war in Iraq is getting worse," It couldn't be worse than what it wa sunder Saddam hussein. R00fles! " and Iran are now taking soldiers from other nations. " Which has little to do with the Iraq War or the US. "Well, this is between Great Britain and Iran." GB is an ally. If they go to war, likley both our countries (US and Kanada) will join them. That's what friends do.

The Rangers win AGAIN. They might lose one of the games to Montreal; but not both. Outside of the first couple of months of the season, Lundqvist has been the best goalie in the NHL, and is MVP. Though he won't win either award.
-
"No game since BG2 has had that depth and NWN2 is considered the deepest since that time." Bah. The NWN series is dmuch deeper,a nd complex than either BG. It's no contest. Just take a fighter in either BG, and comapre it to a fighter in either NWN1. In BG, all they can do in a fight is basiclaly swing their wepaon. In NWN, they bhave TONS of options. A fighter in BG isn';t much different than another figther outside of which wepaon they use. A fighter in NWN can be vastly different than another fighter. Anyways, to the topic. I'm mildy dissapointed only ebcause I had high hopes of Obsidian making awesome games. Instead, what I got was satisfactoryily fun games that in general were no better than the originals. Sequels should ALWAYS be vastly superior to the original. Fun games, though, and that's cool.
-
"NWN1's "circling fights" animations are teh sucky. I prefer new ones. They fit to NWN2 although they definetly wouldn't for game like KotOR" u r krazy NWN1's combat animations are 1 million times betteet han NWN2's attempt. NWN2's combat animiations are so boring, I belive it really hurts the game's combat. i find NWN2's combat A LOT more boring than NWN1's despite the fact they basically have the same combat system (still NWN2's combat is still superior to other games). As for story, NWN2's story is pretty sucky. Worst part of the OC outside of forced npcs. Thankfully, other things made the OC fun. But, story wans't one of them.

And, only 1 point out of 6th! The Rangers are ON FIRE! I thoguht they were gonna lose today; but nope; they won!!! P.S. That's why I said 'near'.. as in their enemies might be neart them in the standings; but they wonb't catch most likley anyways. Hehehe.
-
"500+ hours" Thousands, actually. Heh. With NWN2, I've used it for maybe 100 hours including the OC and my pathetic attempts at making modules. R00fles!

"Would it really be worse? We wouldn't have wars, the environment wouldn't be collapsing, and we wouldn't have innane material object to obsess over and clutter our lives." Sure, it is. the majority of humans would not last long without some menaingful interaction with others. Some have skills that other sdon't, and vice evrsa. It mixes, and works for the most part. There'd be no wars because there'd likely be no people to wage them. the environment had its own problems 9and, collapses) well before humans got any power to effect it in any way. Innane material objects are awesome. It's better than a life where all you have to do look forwrad to is the next day. I want more from my life even if it includes wasting time on the internet boards discussing about wasting our lives away. R00fles!

"We let in four unanswered goals in the last period tonight. Bad luck." Allowing four goals isn't bad luck. It's called being outplayed just the like Leafs outplayed the Sabres before then and tonight. Congrats Leafs. Too bad the Rangers are near uncatchable!!!
