I define it by how many simarlities a particular setting has to Tolkien/D&D as usually when people whine about 'generic fantasy' they usually mean that. That said, generic fantasy is NOT a bad thing. In fact, it's a good thing. LONG LIVE DWARVES 4EVER!

The East: ---------- (1)Sabres vs (8)Islanders - Sabres in 5. No contest. (2)Devils vs (7)Lightning - TB in 7. Brodeur can't score goals. (3)Thrashers vs (6)Rangers - Ranger sin 6. Atlanta will have a couple of games where they can solve Lundqvist espicially as he finds his play off legs after last years' disaster. In the end, however, Rangers even as the 6th seed is too strong to fall to Atlanta. (4)Senators vs (5)Penguins - Senators in 7. The new guns take the old guns to the brink. Experience wins out... this season. Beware the Pens next season. The West: ----------- (1)Red Wings vs ( Flames - Wings in 6. Flames only hang around due to their goaltending. (2)Ducks vs (7)Wild - Ducks in 5. Total mismatch. (3)Canucks vs (6)Stars - Canucks in 6. Stars hang tough; but Canucks have a good balance of offense, defense, and goaltending as Luongo makes his first move to embarass me. (4)Nashville vs (5)Sharks - Ooo... Toughest series to call. I'll go with the Sharks. No Nashville. Ooo crap. Too tough... Thornton, and Cheechoo are hot going in, I'll take Sharks in 7.

Congrats Toronto. NY loses; but thanks to Atlanta's victory over TB; the Rangers finish 6th. They'll play Atlanta. Part of me wishes for a rematch with NJ; but ah well. 'Tis life.

And, Sundin has 3 assists yet all people will talk about most likely is he didn't score a silly gfood. Cool match up, though, all set up by the Rnagers CRUSHING both Montreal and Toronto in the past week. R00fles!

Thoiugh, I should point that while I like Aliens well enough; it's amongst my favorites movies. Still, good, though.

Outside of his current scoring drought, Sundin has had a decent year. Evben now, he is getting his fair share of assists. I do remember earlier in the season everyone was on 'Sundin rules all ship'. Ha. People are so fickle. It's hilarious. If Toronto doesn't sign him, who are they gonna get to replace him. It's easy to dump someone. Not so easy, to replace them. Without Sundin, and no suitable replacement does anyone really believe Toronto will do better next year? Heck, the Rangers can use another top notch center. Send him to us.

"What orginal does their IP has?" The bigger question is what originality does the Aliens IP has? The thing is based off an existing license. As for what DA has going for 'originality'? That's easy. The world is new. It's also one of the very few 'Tolkienish' fantasy games that don't have divine spellcasters that recieve spells from gods. In fcat, DA's religion is more like the real world religion - solely based on faith - ,and not fact like in D&D where it is KNOWN that gods exist and they do interatc with mortals. The Origins are also vastly different than what's een. Not too many things are close to it unless you count the pitiful attempts by Troika with Arcanum, and TOEE which wer ebasiclaly nothing but mini stat boosters or less than 5 minute intros. L0L Read the linked htread. There's lots of stuff that makes DA different than from other fantasy games. It's also not based on an existing IP like the Aliens game. P.S. I'm not bashing Obsidian or their Aliens RPG by the way. I have no problem like some people when it comes to using existing IPS,a nd I think the game will be fun. I just find it hypocritical to bash BIO, and DA for being 'unoriginal' yet praise Obsidian for using an existing IP. L0LLERZ! The real sad thing is the biggets whiners are as likely to buy BIO games as someone like me who praises them. Of course, there are things to criticize about BIO. Irrelevant. Alines isn't a new IP. It's been around for 2 decades or whatever. It's beyond pale, has had it's sahre of movies, comics, games, etc. made. It's not new, or original. Doesn't mean it's gonna suck (in fact, going by my experience with Obsidian's first two games, it'll likely be fun for me); but DA just by being an original IP is more 'fresh' than a pre-existing IP cna be. People already have pre concieved notions simply based on that fact. While DA by being 'new' can throw anything BIO wnats in it - even if that happens to be new twists on dwarves, elves, and dragons. R00fles!

"You get to take on Pittsburgh while Tampa only has Atlanta." Atlanta is no picnic, and the Rangers have played well against Pittsburgh even when they were struggling earlier in the season, and beta them last weak already. Rangers will be playing either Atlanta, or NJ in the first round.

HAHA! And, the Rangers got some help in serving up a 6th place finish with TB getting shellshocked by Florida. WOO HOO!

That much is true. However, obviously, they've moved beyond that though. Time for us all to move past that phase as well. The BIO making D&D games phase is now (at least temporarily) dead. P.S. Sand, and I at least agree on a defintion for fantasy. Hehe.

While it is too early to make a final determination of quality (good or bad) for DA; it is still posisble to form an opinion based off both the writers' past experience with BIO games (likeing them or not) + the info we do know as well. Afterall, knowing this stuff is how potential customers such as ourselves determine which games to buy or not...
