  1. Very cool. Now all we need is a central server...
  2. Yes... and no matter what you do, basically, you're on the Republic's side untill after the Leviathan... But what side you are on doesn't necessarily determine whether you are DS or LS. Canderous, HK-47, Visas, Atton are all more or less DS - yet they still fight for the republic.
  3. Well it still doesn't explain why he didn't just prey on Visa... But as a whole, I very much liked the idea of 3 Sith lords (even fighting amongst each other) instead of just the one.
  4. No. They gave Revan a new background, that's all.
  5. Revan all the way. Exile could die a horrible and painful death between KotOR II and III for all I care.
  6. [quote name='Bless
  7. But what do you suggest then? That each and every one of us sends LucasArts an email which they will just delete without reading it? Or that we stalk Lucas himself? Or a third option?
  8. The council erased Revan's mind, but couldn't "form" it as they wanted it to be. But Revan was their only hope, so they just hoped that Revan would not fall to the dark side yet again. Revan wasn't DS from birth or anything, but fell to the dark side sometime during the Mandalorian Wars for reasons not quite known. So it wasn't the person Revan who was evil to the bone, but rather an event or a series of events that turned Revan to the DS. Like with Bastila.
  9. Only allignment problem I've had is that when T3 is full LS, he's shown on screen with the red, dark background...
  10. KotOR I: You need to go to 4 different planets in search of 4 <insert objects/persons> in order to gather enough information to go to a previously unknown world to settle it all. KotOR II: You need to go to 4 different planets in search of 4 <insert objects/persons> in order to gather enough information to go to a previously unknown world to settle it all. No, the stories aren't *exactly* the same. But close. I think ShadowPaladin is just being overly obsessive with the exact wording of saying so. Give up already, I think it's clear to anyone else... Not that I complain about this kind of story. It works fine for me. I just don't think it's fair to bash one game for using it and at the same time praise another for doing the same.
  11. What are you talking about? Are you serious? I completely agree with Jambo. If KotOR II sells better than the first one, as you hope, then what would be LucasArts reasons for *not* just doing the same thing with the next game? If they can sell half a product for the same amount as a whole product, you really think that they will bother to spend the extra money and time doing the full product? I think you are very naive and illogical. I think the only thing to do is have people do poor reviews and discourage people *not* to buy it - while also encouraging LucasArts to have the game fixed in exchange for new and better reviews... In a perfect world, LucasArts would say "We are ashamed of this broken game, let us fix it for you" - but obviously, they don't care about their fanbase and only about $$$... Check out this petition to have them fix the game.
  12. I think it's hard to compare movies to games... but the KotOR games are definately more dark and supernatural than the movies. The force is more powerful in the games, and especially TSL is in my opinion far from the movies. In fact, I'd argue that the SW setting put aside, it have very little in common with SW at all... The story is simple too complicated, too "serious", for the rather laid back and adventure-ish SW style in the movies.
  13. True, but you don't fight HK droids until the second part of the factory, which would have been after shutting down the reactor. And before HK-47 can shut down the reactor, he has to get a droid (name starts with P i think) to operate on his memory core, enabling him to harm other HK units. I think. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh? That may have been a part of the original plot, don't know - but in the droid factory savegame I have, all it took to shut down the reactor was disabling the comlink, so that the other HKs couldn't contact you and remind you that shutting it down was against your programming...
  14. Meanie head... So why nihilus was so weak... Uh, actually I think it was said so many times in the game... Oh well, bloody hell *shrugs* I might as well answer. It was because exile is the wound in the force and these new sith "eat"(bad english, sorry) force through force sensitive person and got stronger this way, but with exile they could not do this. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Then why didn't he just feast on the Jedi companions you had with you (assuming that you had at least Visla with you)? I too was dissapointed. This was a Sith as powerful as a God, nearly. Yet you defeat him just like that... And your end-boss is a really really old woman, who throws living lightsabers at you... lame.
  15. The droid factory, cut from the game, is basically HK-47 shooting down HK-50s... but maybe that's part of the reason Obsidian cut it, because that didn't fall in line with the "I can't hurt my brothers" thing... Or something. Can't really judge an unfinished module, of course.
  16. Some very talented artists on this board, it seems.
  17. Impressive. Very talented work.
  18. Yeah, Korriban was weak compared to the way it was represented in the first game. The colony/Sith Academy thing was far more interesting than this dead planet/weird cave thing... at least that's my opinion.
  19. Indeed, I too felt that the game was too short for this many characters. I didn't advance far with my dialogues towards any of them, and I didn't even realise that I could turn them into Jedis...
  20. She's annoying, and she talks too much. And it was a bit too obvious, already from the start, that she he had her own agenda, and would likely betray you sooner or later. If I could, I would have left her on Peragus...
  21. Still, this could just refer to a dialogue option where Kreia talks about Handmaiden's mother.
  22. The whole endgame was an insult to everyone who bought the game. It made so little sense, and was waaaaaay too rushed. Why was Mira, 'the huntress', important for Kreia to stop? She didn't do anything after defeating Hanrarr... and why was she the only party member Kreia mentioned? What happened to Bao-Dur, since he spoke to the remote in a hologram? But as to this Remote/G0T0 sequence, they should have cut that as well - to avoid all this confusion and speculation...
  23. Made up or not, it's probably not far from the truth...
  24. I totally agree. I don't care much for the TSL characters, they don't have the same appeal and feeling as in the first game.
  25. I was left extremely dissapointed by KotOR II (which I completed earlier today). The obvious and many many bugs put aside, the plot was simply not fullfilling enough; it had tons of holes, as we all know, and therefore falls to the ground. And not only did it have lots of holes, it also had lots of elements that made no or little sense. And the all-too-obviously rushed and unsatisfying ending angered me. And the game being very short compared to the first one didn't help either. Why did Darth Nihilus need a Sith army to "eat" Telos? If he was as powerful as he was made out to be, being a consumer of worlds and all - with Godlike powers - then why did he need that? In fact, I find it outrageously silly that a character in the game was this powerful. And even more outrageously silly that you are able to defeat him in a lightsaber duel this easily... I mean, this guy consumed a whole planet with force sensitive sentinents. And a bunch of Jedis, too! Silly... Speaking of silly strengths, why is Hanrarr able to beat most - if not all - Jedi/Sith characters in the game? Why is Col. Tobin tougher than a Dark Jedi? Why is Kreia able to kill 3 Jedi Masters without them even being able to put up a fight? Especially the latter annoys me. These guys weren't just Jedis, they were Jedi *Masters*! They were Yodas! They were strong! But yet they were slain just like that? Very dissapointing indeed. Generally, most of the TSL characters seemed too rushed and too uninteresting compared to their KotOR I counterparts. I just didn't care about any of them in the same way. In the first game, I desperately tried all doors on the Leviathan, when Bastila had been locked in with Malak, trying to rescue her. Neither Visla (or whatever her name is) or Handmaiden (what the h... kind of name is that anyway?) gave me that feeling - far from. Even Canderous lost his edge... and I got HK-47 too late in the game to really have any use of him, nor a chance to interact with him much. The planets... well, Peragus was annoying me greatly. It was too long, and too linear for my blood. Taris was HEAPS better. Most of the other planets were quite good though, with the exception of Korribaan - wich was pretty good in the first game, but lame and uninteresting here. But the planets were generally good, once you got rid of Peragus... *sigh* Though I missed Tattooine (which is always a great planet for use in SW :D ) and Manaan... but eh, can't have it all. Having said all this, I must also add that I like all the new game features. There's generally more options, and some great improvements here and there. The influence system was a great idea, but should have been executed better. Though I miss the "transit" function... I also enjoyed the way the quests were made; they were plentyful, and for the greater part interesting. The various big battles where you chose a side were fun. Quest messages were for the most part helpful - except for the late game, where they completely siezed to exist... All in all, I feel that we need - that we *deserve* - an enhancement pack, restoring much of the cut material. I doubt many of the LucasArts emplyees would enjoy buying a new car, only to see key parts of the engine missing... would they not demand a repair?
