  1. More than half of my non-WoT posts. Sad, just sad. :D I don't see NorCal used very much myself...but it's definitely not l33t speak. And yes, in terms of topic, l33t/1337/whatever-speak is very annoying. I pretty much ignore posts typed that way.
  2. I see 48 entires in the Frappr...which I thought wasn't too bad considering the most likely to "join up" are the so-called regulars.
  3. If posts in the off-topic forum counted, my post count would probably be much much higher...so I'm not convinced that's always a good indicator. And some people lurk a long time before they make a first post. But the time period's about right IMO...few weeks to a month in terms of actual posting, assuming they post enough to be noticed for more than one day.
  4. I don't even have that much affliation with my roots. There's home movies of me warbling a little in Korean when I was first adopted by the jolly old US white folks who became my parents, but that's about it.
  5. That's how most game forums end up, eventually. I mean, it's been over a year for this one, right? Or something? I registered in...uh...March...I'm still a newb.
  6. The Big Green Grumpy - I bet there's a modern fairy tale that could be written from that. :D And yeah...all those urban legends floating around....hard to tell what's real or not anymore half the time...most of them aren't even that funny...but this one tickled me. heh
  7. I'm trying really hard not to laugh after reading that story....it's not working tho. The wild wild internet.
  8. Ack...I hadn't heard that...last I'd checked there they were still developing it. *glances through the forums* Damnit...ah well, at least there's always the fan made Heroes of Ardania. Long live the Majesty monk. And Jay Adan. And...oh, phooey, how depressing.
  9. Majesty. It wasn't actually a sim, and it wasn't your average RTS strategy game, and I think that confused a lot of people, including the marketing folks. It had this premise of being a RTS but you couldn't actually control your units/tell them what to do or where to go via mouse clicks...once you 'get that', it's a ball to play...plus all the unit types had mini-personalities, and loyalty factors (rogues could be enticed to an enemy player in MP with enough gold) and certain races had certain bonuses to you the King etc. I don't typically like RTS games much, but I played Majesty for a long long time. Edit - the Northern Expansion had some maps that were a serious challenge even for experienced players...great stuff.
  10. Just adding my .02 to the original question. I typically avoid killing/evil-doing to what I percieve as the innocent. Sometimes, as in strategy games, I even go so far as to try really hard to protect my units from demise. In DungeonKeeper I'd try to win without any of my minions dying - I'd even reload. I guess I've got this thing where I don't feel like I've truly won if I lose companions through my poor or hasty strategy. Like a commander not wanting to lose their men or something. That said, once I start to get bored with a game, I'll often turn around and start killing everything just to see what happens...or because it's funny...ala drowning your Sims or attacking people in town in BG so the peace enforcer mages will come along and you can have a really big fight. lol
  11. My genetic roots stem there, yes.
  12. I resemble that remark... I know that's one of the things that attracted me to my husband. But I wouldn't put too much stock in that as far as dating goes, because that largely comes from a common taste in humor...if you try too hard to be funny, that's often seen as unattractive. If you share the same humor tastes, the laughter will come.
  13. Happy B-day to both! And to anyone else who might have a birthday soon. That picture of Hoff is as distrubing now and the first time someone posted it....
  14. Darth Sidious stayed 'regular' looking until Mace fried his face, and he was darkside for years and years and years before that. So I'm going to have to say that it doesn't really make sense to have a sudden face lift just because you go darkside.
  15. You're not stupid. There is a minor resemblence, but I think it's mostly because my hair is currently short and the similar angle of the pictures. Angle is everything in portraits. Besides, my nose is much wider than his. See?
  16. Btw, I do think these are great shots, kumquat, thanks for sharing. Such stuff always looks much better to me as a moving picture tho - I remember a video/show called "Over America" or "Over California" or something...it was on PBS...nothing but amazing hi-res video of soaring over stuff like in those shots, without even any narration IIRC. Gorgeous.
  17. Firefox 1.0.6, no add-ons like Adblock. The sig just make the browser go kinda wonky/stuttery when I'm scrolling up and down a thread he's posted in numerous times. I think you can turn sig pics off here...I may finally do that. Edit - oh...you have to disable signatures entirely...oh well, I guess I'll do that.
  18. If you get rid of the burger signature pic that my browser doesn't seem to like very much, I'll tell everyone I know what a nice guy you are. "
  19. Skeleton Key. A little slow, but entertaining enough for an 'intelligent' suspense/horror. The publicity-touted surprise ending wasn't very surprising, however.
  20. One couldn't even begin to carry enough extra emergency parachutes to get me to jump out of an airplane for fun. I'd have to be sooooo drunk...and if I was that blasted, I'd forget to pull the cord, so...
  21. *scratches head* I don't really see it. I was adopted tho, so who knows...maybe duff is a long lost nephew, twice removed!!!......nah.... Nope. Hehehe.
  22. Maybe she landed on something similar to that pile of cotton in kumquatt's pretty-photo thread.
  23. Maybe they're shy. :D Last Frappr I did, most people were in the US. More spread out here, which is cool.
  24. My first impression was sheep...maybe a lot of wool? But yeah, the green tarps, or whatever they are, give it a cauliflower appearance. edit- typo city
  25. Dxun. I like rain and grass. Beaches are nice, but I see them too often. Old hat.
