  1. Well, in Kotor2, there were a few moments that got an emotional reaction out of me, but it wasn't romance. More like...sad empathy. I mean, like when Atton's jealously watching Di/Exile meditate, or when Di is pleading with the Exile not to go alone. But actual romance...nope...not there. I do remember tho, in Tombraider6, how freaked out/sad I was about Kurtis Trent's story arc/ending...Very freaked out. So there was a game that made me feel like the characters themselves had a connection or something. But they use a lot of well-scripted movies to get such things across - since the gameplay isn't RPG. Worked for me that time tho.
  2. I have yet to encounter any in-game romance arcs that really felt like romance to me. Course, I'm not a terribly romantic person to begin with.... Mostly, I just get 'attached' to a (male) character or two and the romance is all in my fevered mind. In BG1, I was quite enamoured with Xan. He cracked me up. :D Anyway, I'd agree, when they're there, script-wise, they're usually rushed/lacking, scripted like bad romance novels...but if you end up liking the character, you don't mind too much I guess. Games are kind of a limited format for romance, IMO.
  3. DungeonKeeper2 full theme at top volume. Whooohooo
  4. Wha? Huh? ....oh....that's just Mical again... "
  5. "Hi ri am bo hill o ro ho Hi ri am bo hi ri ri u Hi ri am bo hill o ro ho"
  6. You do indeed have Nickyism bad, Silvershadow... :D
  7. I saw an ad for something on TV, where they trumpted there would be a performance by..........Duran Duran. And I thought to myself....won't they ever give up?...
  8. This should probably be in the Spoilers section. As to the question...all I have to say is that to me, the ending (story-wise) was lackluster. Felt incomplete, unfinished, and emotionally unsatisfying. I didn't think it was horrible or completely wrecked, it was just...unsatisfying. The switch from being a 'party' with companions to suddenly being solo and having no clue, no idea, where the others are was too abrupt. You spend all this time building up your characters and turning them into Jedi etc. only to find that it was all for 'nothing' as you don't get to use them in the final battles. Some kind of better explanation/reason for that would have been nice, at least - as some of the ununsed cutscenes of the NPC's wondering where the Exile went etc. would have provided. Edit - I know the whole 'exile has to do things alone/stand alone' arc, but that isn't my point
  9. Are there other NPC's in your way? That sometimes happens...even if they look like they're not in your way, they're still blocking pathing somehow, and the keyboard keys won't respond cause of that, until you do something else to unconfuse the game first. Or something.
  10. Yes, I confused myself as well, apparently. It's the heat, I swear.
  11. What?! Don't tell me you hated Flock of Seagulls, man! ...ok, I did too.... edit - bah wrong tense
  12. Re-reading Mid-Flinx by Alan Dean Foster. I love that series. Pip the mini-drag, yo-ho! Foster does a few short-novel series that I enjoy a lot.
  13. To be fair, I liked the Hoof well enough in the Kit-show. I don't think he's seXy tho. Not my type.

  15. I remember Benson/Soap too. They cracked me up. Since we're off the tropical topic now, did anyone mention Family Ties yet?
  16. I'm going to start a Di fanclub. We'll rule the world and make them quake with our smiles.
  17. Of course it is. I was talking about facial structure & lines, not hair. :D I'd go off on an essay about how the current human skull is only capable of producing mild variations on a certain number of general 'looks' but I'm sure that'd bore everyone...including me....hehe
  18. That's a pretty weak excuse for a rebuttal. I know who Bruce is. I also know someone named Alan King. Who was insipired by Danny Thomas. Which isn't really important - no one has to like Leary, or anyone else...but just because one doesn't like something someone may have done years ago, doesn't make 'em 'talentless', or brainless, or not worth liking, in everything they do all their lives. But whatever. Maybe you're a see things in black & white kind of person, or similar, and that's cool.
  19. This thread has really grown since I last gazed at it. There are some artistic gems admist the spam... :D I wish I could draw.
