  1. Hehe I like the 'vrooom' sound in the background. Soothing kittah to sleep!
  2. I like how the article states the guy admits that "collecting data based on well-being was not an exact science." r00fles. Well, perhaps from a mass-population psychology point of view it could be interesting but...
  3. My understanding is that while the video card is typically the major thing, if one's CPU is too 'old' then well, it can't take advantage of the advanced card so much (bottleneck). So CPU can be a factor. But if you have a fairly 'modern/speedy' PC and an older card, the card is then the bottleneck. Depends a bit I guess.
  4. Interesting combo. :D I'm thinking about what a pretty day it is outside now that it's not 110 degrees. And that the pool is 85F w/out a cover on. Warm.
  5. *stares at the pictures* *stares some more* Time for motherboard companies to redesign their boards, soon, perhaps?
  6. Hang in there Hades. One of my friends had similar weight problems and when she decided it was time to change things, it took her a year and a lot of struggle but she dropped maybe 70-80 pounds. While she hasn't been able to lose all the way down to her goal weight yet (like you her goal is a bit over 'optimal'), she's kept that first 80 off and is probably in better aerobic condition than many skinnier people. She walked so fast I couldn't keep up with her on foot (she's a fair deal taller than I am), and the few times I tried to keep her company I had to ride my bike. :D
  7. While I appreciate the friendly help being given to a new/returning member, this thread is running off-topic from it's purpose and may get pruned soon...
  8. Thinking about some issues that hamper me from doing things; ie too much meticulous perfectionism that makes me give up on hobbies out of frustration of not being able to achieve what I think I want, fast enough, when it perhaps doesn't really matter in the first place...
  9. Edit: oops wrong one...
  10. I find DS more interesting but I tend to go LS more often for character/NPC interaction reasons.
  11. Disciple over Atton this time just because....well, typically he was a slightly better melee fighter than Atton.
  12. Insomnia & Desperation by Stephen King. Not very good but anything works in a power outtage pinch. Last week I was re-reading One Day At Teton Marsh by Sally Carrighar. Old book with a bunch of interconnected short tales told from various animals points of view.
  13. There's no emotional-tugging human drama in wondering if a machine is going to survive a battle or not. At least I'd assume that's the exec's reasoning.
  14. I'd tend to agree with Steve's post on the main causes for the rise in figures. And if there is an actual small rise, the reasons could be...well I don't really have an answer for that beyond the usual 'humans are violently repressed' for lots of reasons sort of stuff. Some take it out on animals because they think doing so is 'safe/ok' cause they're not human.
  15. I'm thinking about how frustrating it is keep that bit o' extra weight off as I get older. I've also been thinking about my father again, which I tend to do whenever I see a picture of Christopher Reeve post-riding accident. Plus my husband looks really cute with greying temples.
  16. That review makes me wonder if it really does feel like The Summoner. I liked that game. This goes on my 'check it out someday' list. Thanks.
  17. I liked Stronghold Crusader better than Stronghold2 - I think the old did better at skirmish/siege maps - but it's a still a good game. Some of the camera angle stuff is a bit awkward and archers are (still) way overpowered but...building the defenses is a lot of fun.
  18. It's fine for me too. They'll stay pretty big relative to the rest of the screen, however - they don't get miniscule w/more resolution. Still, if they're really huge, that would seem unusual to me. Maybe attach a screenshot?
  19. TVGuide gave the Hoff a Jeer for being mean on America's Most Talented. Maybe this explains his videos...
  20. I'm thinking about how I need to clean out the fridge, toss away some stuff, and replace it all again. And about what to have for dinner. My life is so mundane. :D
  21. I absolutely loved Fargo; I love W.H. Macy plus I found it hilarious. I didn't 'understand' the humor in Raising Arizona at all, despite having a friend who loved the movie try to explain it to me. It was just a really weird, off the wall movie that kinda bored me...
  22. MultiiMedia is so vague. I hate vagueness. :D Sounds like it would likely work tho. Thanks, I'll look into it more.
  23. Thread pruned of some off-topicness.
  24. I think Bastilla wins in this round.
