Since the concept is that spambots can't "read" pics, I really don't get how making the pictures all blurry and convoluted helps prevent spambots from understanding what they are. Blah. Edit: ok, I read wiki & apparently some bot tech can read old style captcha now or something. Still, it's getting ridiculous.

Rejected Rejected Repeat 10 times, each time lag-loading for 20 seconds between "rejection". !&@*# this, guess they don't want my money. *flounces off to watch TV instead*

The Drizzt Do'Urden Film and Video Game
LadyCrimson replied to Cutlock's topic in Computer and Console
The only thing I liked about the Doom movie was that segment that was very video-game like, because it made me laugh. The rest...meh. I should say, too, that most of my liking Tombraider was Ms Jolie. She just fit as Lara, imo. -
Browsing Steam's game library through the steam launcher window (not a web browser) *3 items in your shopping cart* *Purchase for myself please* ---Please login--- (even tho I had to log in already) *type in my login info* ...then similar to Tale, stuck forever. Edit: Now I'm stuck on their stupid captcha, where the pics are impossible for even a human to read.

*Google* ...wait, he made a "worst movie of all time" Alone in the Dark movie, with Christian Slater? I MUST FIND/WATCH THIS. -

Tombraider wasn't too bad. And if you like horror the 1st Resident Evil was tolerable. But yeah, agreed....video games turned into movies are typically terrible. Not to mention, never feel like they have much to do with the actual game. Maybe that's part of the problem ... they keep trying to make the movie fit the game's plot vs. writing an actual good movie script that happens to have known game characters in it. -

...No. Just no. -
Thanks for keeping us updated, Fionavar. Glad there's some seemingly good news in there. Edit: side note - hubs and I seem to have a new fave topic of late night discussion...the Big Brother tech subject. lol

Green Lantern isn't nearly the popcorn kind of movie Thor was. It has its nice/fun moments but .... yeah, not what I want from a comic hero movie I guess. It's hard to take it as seriously as it wants you to when there are bad/abrupt edits (that took me "out" of the film mentally) and one out of the two "bad guys" makes you laugh in the so-bad-it's-funny way. Also, part of the ending was too ID4 like visually...enough so that for long minutes all I could think about was ID4. But it wasn't terrible/bad. Reynolds looked good in that suit and he fit the role's defined personality/issues well I think.

That story has no serious proof to it...some guy posts on a forum then never posts again. Journalists today... Regardless, I can see it might be possible with that kind of app. Which between that and the normal GPS, is another reason I don't yet have one. ...same thing with GPS chips in cars. My old non-GPS car has 35K on it and I'm going to drive it until only duct tape is holding it together.

Stupid old houses and their crappy weak-sauce plumbing. And whoever put in the pipe under the sink didn't use any sealant type stuff (whatever they call it) on the plastic to metal joints/threads. Rust ahoy & *snap*. New plastic pipe joints needed. Hehehe At least the laundry sink drain doesn't affect the kitchen/bathroom this time. ...cooking up some beef/cabbage/rice stir fry and then time to watch the undead.

Don't know about pixel density but yeah, I was thinking it'd be better if it was taller in ratio to its width, so the image wouldn't have as much potential distortion. Don't know how that monitor actually deals with things, but I do know I can't stand "stretched" video.

Went for Thor...much more entertaining than I expected. Not one I'd probably watch a 2nd time, but for a first watch rather fun. At least the guy playing Loki was pretty ham-a-licious. I like Ryan Reynolds too, but the previews for GL, with that weird plastic-shiny GL suit and all the XMen-like CGI makeup made me go "eww." But I did read it had a nice "who is he/background" sequence so I may watch it next weekend.

Ah hell....tarna. Wishing him all the luck in the world.

I'm not into multiple monitor setups, but that I could get into. Edit: Oh wait, here's someone playing using 3 of those curved displays. haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix0m31q4xLw

wtf? ...playing nothing, as usual. Until Path of Exile .9.3 is available anyway.

Will definitely be thinking of him.

Drive Angry about as bad as expected, but that Fichtner was funny. Which is better, Thor or Green Lantern? Can't decide which to watch now. hehe

Completely agree. I mean, they could fabricate more plots up, but there's a point where escalation would be just too much/comically silly. It's over the top to begin with (in a good way)...but it could easily become over the top in the bad way. Horrible Bosses - one of those that I meant to see in the theater, but like often happens nowadays, never got around to it. Fun movie. Not quite as "darkly comic" as I was hoping for, but still pretty funny in most places. Can't wait for season 2 of Walking Dead tomorrow night. Until then...about to watch Drive Angry, because Nick Cage in over-acting ham mode always makes me laugh. Plus I hear William Fichtner is awesome in it. I didn't realize Cage had IRS/bankruptcy issues...I guess that at least partly explains his grab-the-cash bad movie choices lately.

Hope tarna is doing well. ------------- The good thing about having a spouse who's an electrician/techy: he can bring home outdated or non-working stuff that people give up on/don't want and fix them almost good as new. Free stuff! (LCD monitors, iPods, pc's, appliances, you name it) The bad thing about having a spouse who's an electrician/techy: he brings home too much broken stuff that sits around for months/never gets around to. Only three years and already can't reach the ceiling hole to get into the attic crawl space because that closet is crammed full of....parts.

There's the geeky part of me that wants to play/check out this game, but after WoW I just don't want to get potentially sucked into another pay MMO. Seen some gameplay footage and the UI/certain aspects does remind me of WoW...but WoW didn't have lightsabers.

Seeing camo-army dudes encountering a Jawa sandcrawler is beyond strange. I wanted to say this earlier, but forgot to: Don't know what your connection speed is, but if it's fairly fast I think it's more that photobucket sucks rather than Bokishi's screenshots are too huge. Or your computer is slow for some reason. They "lag" a lot more on my older, crap-graphic card XP machine than on the i7 for example, even w/the same ISP speed.

@mkreku - perhaps you have some kind of combat animation bug? Or some kind of combat setting could be tweaked? Just a random thought, don't have the game. ------ Keep thinking about reconfiguring FNV to play again w/the new DLC's/patches etc. but the motivation isn't there. I guess I really am played out on that one.
