  1. If I love the voice, I can love narration. But I'm also of the mind that there must always be a way to skip past it, if one wants. Also, if a flavor text is long, it can be irritating if it drones on and on while you're trying to still adventure, or worse, if it gets cut off because something else in the gameworld wants to interact with you. Happens constantly in Borderlands 2 and it's annoying as heck. I'm happy enough to have lots of lootable books, scrolls, etc. that I can store in some locker to read at my leisure. Or if not lootable per se, that the text gets added to a journal when I click on such "stuff." Unless the game is set in some sci-fi/tech type world, where voice recorders instead of books might be the norm, I tend to find written records a bit more believable, too.
  2. Nothing like setting enemies on fire with molten moon rocks from the sky to make one feel young again!
  3. Is that chick wearing a pink batman symbol as a thong? ...I don't play that game, so I can't tell what the glitch actually is.
  4. Just with that video, I'm seriously reminded of The Summoner. It's probably just the overland map traveling style. I dunno....while it may not be a typical MMO and can be played single-player, it still sounds like it has too much focus on multiplayer features for my personal liking.
  5. My belly can attest to that last comic. Altho I usually think what cats are saying is more along the lines of "Me bor'd, gib attention."
  6. I can believe that many gamers who play a lot of hours per day/week may share some personality traits/quirks, since sometimes hobbies can attract similar personalities, but I don't think I'd conclude that must mean the group as a whole has some kind of shared medical condition.
  7. Jolly Rancher orange and apple scented candles are the awesome. The smell is strong without being overpowering/perfume-y. Some smells just make one feel kinda happy...or content...or something. Also, Rosbjerg's avatar keeps staring at me, like one of those creepy pictures where the eyes follow you around the room. I think it wants my cool candles. Can't have them, nope.
  8. I still haven't played Planescape (the original CD is in a box in a closet somewhere) so my interest in funding is low ... especially when they obviously don't need my $25 at this point.
  9. I still see Kickstarter as a method for developers to have a chance at being able to fund/create games that otherwise (in today's business model) would likely never get off the ground. That is, not as a replacement for current "traditional" big business methods/games/budgets but as a needed and much appreciated addition/option. Probably not the best analogy, but to me it's like smaller local grocery markets vs. Safeway. And I think it'll fill that role quite nicely. Assuming the games end up being decent enough to keep motivating, and assuming that niche audience doesn't run out of cash to toss at projects, if vaunted projects start to increase in frequency.
  10. No slacking allowed. You're our bonus boss! Heheh, I used that sniper kitty as a forum sig. here, once.
  11. Thanks. Think I figured it out tho...they seem to have changed the page scripting or something so I have to allow more scripts before I can see the number. Strange.
  12. I wouldn't miss screen blood splatter at all (not into stuff that hits the "screen", really), but some of those effects might be something you'd miss having ... once you know they're not there, that is. Seems weird.
  13. Can anyone else not see the total amount pledged on the KS page, at the moment? No biggie, just curious.
  14. This week has been so blargh. I'm so tired.
  15. The new ones in that article seem to have more human features ... noticeable bridged and tipped nose and chinned mouth, vs. something that reminds me a bit more of a snake/croc shaped profile, if that makes sense. It makes them look ... strange.
  16. ....too much time on my hands for websurfing this morning.
  17. Yeah, I read about that ... something about local companies not being able to compete with the outsourcing Hollywood/studios like to do now, I think?
  18. Congratulations. You have survived another year, regardless of the choices you made during the last 12 months... That's always worth a celebration.. Life is one big excuse to party, basically.
  19. I used to have this recurring dream where I'm pulling worms/maggots from my face, but haven't had one in ages. This morning I was "blessed" with it again, but instead of the usual dream there were a couple of changes, which were weird enough I have to describe it here to get it out of my system: --instead of my face proper, they were mostly from the top of my head. In the dream I had this weird, flat high growth on the top of my head and when I pushed on it giant, fat, colorful fantasy maggots would surface, which I'd then pull out and drop down the sink. --On the face proper, instead of maggots, I was instead pulling out .... kittens. From under my nose. So by the end of the dream the bathroom floor was covered in mewling, cute little kittens, and as I was dealing with the maggots from the top of my head, I was also thinking about which of those kittens I wanted to keep.
  20. Last thread. Life of Pi - the tale of a boy stranded on a small boat with a Bengal Tiger named Wilson Richard Parker. Apparently I'm dead inside, because it left me profoundly unmoved. It is a very visually striking film, however (and I'm sure it was even more striking in the theater), and the meerkat bit was cute.
  21. Post limit, new thread etc.
  22. What? Only 2560? Giving up res for hair? Pshaw. ...that much of a performance hit, eh?
  23. ...omg I lost it. Where do I sign??
  24. What are "bonus bosses?" Tougher enemy battles that aren't part of the main plot? I like finding enemies in some out of the way corner, but I don't think they always have to be the hardest ones in the game. Depends on what their story/reason for being there may be and all that jazz. Some could have some epic loot, some could be more for world/history flavor. eg, I like them to be varied ... but I don't enjoy the multi-player "raid" style bosses, so since this is a single-player game, none of those please. It's fine if they have some kind of skill that gives them some health back (some health stealing say), that they can use occasionally, but scripted stages/going away for insta-full health just feels cheap. Not to mention, I prefer once a battle starts, for it to remain a battle to the end, rather than some multi-part scripted thingie with an overly talkative enemy that I have to sit through. Or whatever. "Hahaha this isn't over, you think you've defeated me, but this isn't my real form/power. I was just testing you. I'll be right back, you're in for such a surprise! Hohoho."
