The mic may be bad, but at least you don't talk incessantly every second, which I appreciate.

The Sessions - uncomfortable topic (at least I'd guess to most people), tastefully done. But rather slow. Helen Hunt and the male lead (sorry, don't feel like looking up his name) were very good in their scenes together. And if you ever wanted to see Hunt full frontal, well there you go. Altho tbh, I was looking more at her face, because there's something a little off about it these days. Not enough flesh on the cheekbones, too much makeup, too much botox, no idea.

Yeah, that was my problem with it too - well, outside of the original insane difficulty, which I hear they've totally gimped now. And the loot, which has at least improved at this point. But mostly that there was no appeal to creating new characters/starting over like in the previous games. Seemed made to have one of each character and when done with that, just sit around waiting for new content. Like an MMO. Edit: Can't really blame them for that tho - it's sorta how a lot arpg's go now. eg, BL2 is kinda the same way.

Bought season 2, 3, and 4 of Breaking Bad (had the 1st ssn already). It's on Netflix, but one day it won't be. Also, Star Trek Into Darkness is out, so I snapped that up. Because of Benedict, of course. *dreamy sigh* Now to finish watching Season 7 of Dexter. At the very very end of Season 6, hubby's reaction was a big fat grin combined with an "OOOPS!" I hear Season 8 will be the last of Dexter show? I wonder how they'll end it.

My brain is greasy fried from too many late nights. Serve it on a plate for dinner. Which means it's totally time to drive downtown to shop and lunch with some buddies right now.

Definitely would be up for adjustable font/text size, as my eyes are also older than they used to be. But I still don't like too much space between lines. I find it distracting if I feel like every sentence (in a long sequence of such) is a lone island separated by oodles of ocean. eg, too much "white space" is annoying.

I don't tend to read very many. I'll often read the first few to get an idea/see how they're being presented, but after that I'm likely to ignore them, unless something in particular grabs me (like I'll often read "monster lore/legend" ones, but find "city history" boring). The exception would be if there's some kind of mini-game challenge to finding them/reading them all. Or if the books are inventory items vs. only log text, sometimes I get a hankering on my own to collect them all, piling them up in a room or barrel somewhere. A collecting compulsion. I have no problem with them being in the game - sometimes they're interesting, and even when I don't find them so, it's not like it interferes with any of my gaming preferences if they're there. The one caveat - I prefer them to be in sensible locations. Dusty books in abandoned dungeons/castles or in libraries, or in someone's house on a shelf/table. Not just constant random things you find in the forest or in every bandits treasure bag, if you know what i mean.

Reconciling different perspectives on grieving
LadyCrimson replied to alanschu's topic in Way Off-Topic
My main method of dealing with grief goes something like this: Cry non-stop for a week Sleep non-stop for a week I don't actually talk much...altho I did used to write a lot, but I don't do that anymore either. Eventually I stop crying and sleeping and life goes on again. I think for many it's less a fear of death itself and more a fear of being alone/left behind. Watching my mother after my father died ... the being alone part was the hardest thing for her, despite being surrounded by family and friends. Still is. -
I knew the episode was going to end that way. Dang it! What happens, what happens!

We've been watching a lot of Dexter. Had only seen the first 2 seasons + the 4th, so we're catching up now. Half an hour until Breaking Bad time, for me. It's the TV highlight of the week, one of the few shows over the past several years that I actually sit down to watch every episode when it's broadcast (vs. watching later, or "someday"). Booyow.

Reconciling different perspectives on grieving

Don't really have any advice, but I'm sorry for your loss, Alan. -
On PS2 and Gamecube. Oh....ok. That stirs up a vague memory. I probably heard about it, raged about "exclusives" for 60 seconds, then promptly forgot.

Spending the afternoon playing with some kittens. It makes me feel better and as hubby says, it's hard to resist them when they're little. Such tiny squeaky meows... 'Course not. Which is why I said "not really." But sometimes you wish it could.

Sorry about the mini-rant before...I know the neighbors love their pets/aren't purposely abusive; it just always makes me sad/angry when ppl who can't afford a lot of pets seem intent on having more/do nothing to prevent ending up with a plethora of them. There's actually 4 kittens in the new crop that we've seen. One's all-black - I wonder if Mr. Black would like a mini-me?

Reading about the weeks long/big Yosemite Park fire, which is currently believed to have been started by a hunter's illegal blaze, makes me wonder if perhaps everyone should be required to take/have an (annual) 3 day course certificate of "techniques on how to build a campfire/signal fire, hopefully without burning down the forest," before being allowed a camping/hunting license or entrance into any National Park, or whatever. ...ok, not really...but sometimes I think it for a few seconds.

50/50 - I expected a bit more comedy. Seth Rogan is annoying until near the end. Other than that, an ok film. Saw the trailer/s for the next Thor movie. It looks fun. Also, this:

Removed on the US YouTube as well (not just "advisory", but removed), so I'd guess in that case it wouldn't have been acceptable on this forum, either.

There was a Summoner 2? Maybe I knew that once and forgot....I loved the first game, at least for a couple playthroughs.

Deli sandwich, white peach, small slice of brownie cheesecake. *burp*

Now that Mr. Grey isn't in the yard this year's new crop of (3-4 month?) neighbor kittens have taken it over. I didn't realize there were new ones until yesterday, actually (hubs said they liked sleeping on the fence). Today I went to look at them closer, and their condition upsets me. One seems to have fluid-sounding breathing and sick looking eyes, the other has this giant cyst/swollen tumor or something under the skin on one side of his face - both are completely encrusted with flea poops under their fur. They're both otherwise kitten-like (energy, playful) but man...take care of your freakin' cats. Or better, get the older ones spayed so you stop having sickly kittens every year. #!@$@## I just want to kidnap them and take care of them myself, if a vet said they had nothing contagious.

Is that via using only black dye? I kinda like how it looks with the Guardian Fighter's dye pack. I might have to make me some of those. http://imgur.com/a/f01gU/noscript

Maybe they once belonged to that farting, gluttonous boss's half-demon grandson.

Store run to prep for the Red Sox/Yankees series. Hubby's gonna have to do without his BL2 most afternoons/evenings, until the WS is over.
