Movies you've seen recently
The Judge - 7.5/10. Has some weak points (a little too long, for one) but decent drama film. Robert Duvall still one of my absolute faves. Kill the Messenger - 6/10. Starts off well and Renner does a good job, but eventually the "maligned hero journalist vs. evil big newspapers and government conspiracy" started to enter into Oliver Stone territory or something. Which had me looking up Gary Webb on the laptop while the movie was playing...which turned out to be more interesting. ;p

What are you playing now?
Early Access, Medieval Engineers - I am so tempted. Build for hours, destroy in 10 minutes! But maybe it'll be a little too "techie" for me...*finger hovers over the buy button* ... can't decide. Still haven't really played with Space Engineers, but I'm a lot more into building castles/buildings/catapults then I am vehicles/ships/sci-fi machinery...

What's on the idiot box... Part 3
Apparently, an infinite amount of them. They've been doing them in droves for decades and decades and decades. It is interesting how the dramatic crime/mystery show has been such as staple and so popular for seemingly forever. Different eras do them differently, but they're still basically the same concept. Guess humans just love a good detective mystery!** **long live Columbo!

What you did today
Housecleaning day, which means I spent most of the afternoon scrubbing the bathroom. They need to hurry up and invent the self-cleaning shower/tub. Will now use that clean bathroom to shower before I go run out and paint the town for a couple hours. Or at least the dance floor. Then later, maybe a movie. "Nightcrawler" perhaps...I like Jake Gyhilalalhal-howeveryouspellit.

Cheatcodes for Project Eternity
After multiple "legit" runs or at least many hours of something, I'll often enjoy some console command cheat messing around when available, when I want to geek and test or just plain goof off. Or as mentioned, if it helps with a glitch issue. Single-player games I see no issue with leaving such in. Affects no one else and up to player if they want to cheat/use them. So nice that some are in there.

Firefox and GPU heating
I have GPU temps showing r-side of the taskbar with the clock and such. Habit from playing games and doing video rendering during heat waves...

Skeletons army animation
Could collapse/crumble to dust, so to speak. It does look a little weird but not something that bothers me much.

My objection to that image is just visual. Where's the blonde hair, at least, for one. Take away that trident and the new guy could be a grungy tattooed Viking/tribal dude or something. Just doesn't fit to me. Not that I've kept up with recent comic versions of him, although I know he's had various appearance changes I think (longer hair, different costume styles).

Firefox and GPU heating
--Don't know about the clock speeds, didn't check that earlier. --I clean out the case/gpu of dust 2 to 3 times a year, it's pretty clean-ish. --Firefox 34.0.5 (last one b4 35, which is actually the latest latest, but I like to wait until I can d/l the executable rather than the little installer) Me to myself: "I don't see how that could be related to the browser, but it has been a few months since I updated nvidia, so what the heck." ... (do so) .... "Well I'll be dipped in ...." GPU staying at 36C again ... and the weird thing is, now it's staying cool even when playing videos/Netflix, too. I do remember some long long past version of Firefox was when I noticed GPU temps rose during FF-video plays, even w/their hardware acceleration off. I've udpated nvida drivers many times since then and browser-videos still raised GPU temp all this time. So all I can think is that Firefox's hardware acceleration disable function hasn't been working properly (for me) and nvidia finally did something that changed that? (I made sure it was disabled looking at the about:config settings, btw) (edit: or the other way around - nvidia's drivers didn't recognize it properly for ages...) Anyway, thanks Humanoid, GPU driver wouldn't have occurred to me as a fix at all. Note to self: video drivers should now be updated when anything weird is going on with anything, not just video games...

That's supposed to be Aquaman? Are you serious? I mean, I can see updating him so he's not like he was in Superfriends or something, haha, but ... yeah. That's not Aquaman.

Hah, that's great. Makes me want to run out and buy some silver Sharpies...- Firefox and GPU heating
So I installed latest Firefox today and first thing I noticed is the Cisco codec auto-plugin. Got rid of that for the moment, doubt I have a need for it. Then I noticed FF increasing my GPU temp by 20C even when I have it open to nothing but a "blank" page. Used to only do it when playing videos (reasonable). Yes I have the hardware acceleration setting disabled. Can't figure it out or if I can stop it from happening. Don't like that it's happening. (GPU monitor claims usage is almost non-existent to zero and CPU temps go up a little too but nowhere near as much). I don't think my GPU should be running 60C just to browse a forum/do a websearch. Anyone else have this w/FF? Is it just the way FF is now?- Diet and exercise alone are no cure for obesity, experts say

Maybe it's not so much a backlash re: being fit as it is a backlash against being told what's bad for you all the time. eg, some may have pet peeves re: backseat health advocates/health news at this point and just tend to lump "fit people" into that category whether they deserve it or not.- Diet and exercise alone are no cure for obesity, experts say

Is it wrong that I want to make a Pillars of Eternity all-Supernatural chr. portrait party? Dean = Fighter Sam = Chanter Castiel = Priest Charlie = Rogue- What's on the idiot box... Part 3
Better Call Saul 3rd episode - yeah, not quite as good but still entertaining. I keep wondering if they'll (eventually) bring back other BB chrs like Fring, to show how Mike goes from retired cop/parking attendant to working with/being so loyal to him.- Recorded playtime in the save files?
Unless one likes to play sp games with Steam offline mode ..I still use the old-fashioned method where I look at a clock before I start and look at it again when I turn it off each time. But yeah, I can understand wanting a more accurate timer. One of the funny things for me however is that I tend to wander off for semi-long periods with the game still running, so even then it's not very accurate.- What you did today
Turn on cable, turn to one of their all-music stations. Oh look, one for the '80s, cool. ..it's playing Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation from 1989, then some funky Paula Abdula song. ...nope, not my 80's. Back to my ultimate Police CD box collection.- Character signatures for all!

I need more mining/building/surviving or sandbox fun, but nothing else appeals. The Forest - too unavoidably combat/horror oriented Rising World - not far enough along yet Frontiers - Skyrim/daggerfall sandbox? ... hmm...nah, not going anywhere yet. Others - zombies, zombies, no building, no crafting, to far into rpg'ish territory, 2d/platformer, etc. ...is it hard to learn enough to use Unity? I should make my own game. Edit: Hm. Looking it up, maybe it's doable (for me) with some study. No no not to sell, just something stupid for me...- What you did today
Back on my IPS monitor. It may not be the bestest high quality IPS monitor, but ... I'm spoiled now. I love my IPS monitor. It's a little backward-tilted still (stupid cable placement) but it'll work. As long as I don't have to stare at that horrible other thing I have. Time now to curl up with Sherlock Holmes (not literally) and fall asleep.- The Funny Things thread
