Doh! I guess the poll should have said Feb 15, then eh? -
On December 6/Jan 15 I'll Be
sickboycp replied to sickboycp's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Which is why the poll is for Dec 6/Jan 15...it covered both release dates. At least both anticipated release dates. -
I'd actually just prefer getting something for free with the preorder like someone suggested in the merchandise poll. Gamestop is already getting enough of my paycheck as it is. I mean, I do need money for graduate school. :D :D I don't really think there's any need for a special edition.
-
Just figured to see how many folks will be home all day playing K2. My game is preordered so I'll probably get it on the 7th or 8th, which is fine with me, because option a sounds pretty good until then.

Okay... 'fess up! Who voted for Atris doll and the Sion doll? I need to know who to avoid on this board
-
This is pure speculation (like 99% of board content)but I think the prestige classes will add different sidequests that equate with the different responsibilities that each "job" has within the Jedi or Sith order.
-
I'm actually curious to see how you actually physically acquire your prestige class. Does a Jedi Master/Sith Lord show up at a certain point and let you choose or is it shaped by the skills and force powers you choose. Wouldn't it be cool if depending on your choices, if Revan were the one to "officially" grant you your prestige class?

Even tho the devs don't read this anymore, I may as well ask again: Among the new models for PC heads, are we going to have any more models with beards? I wanted to play as a Grizzly Adams jedi in K1 and the absence of beardies shattered my dreams.
-
Give me free two-day shipping from Gamestop and I'll be fine. BTW, Topaz, are you trying to fit a reference to Xenosaga in every topic somehow? :D
-
Has anyone else been totally blown away by The Postal Service's debut album, Give Up? Electronic beats, yearning haunting vocals, somehow both desolate and hopeful at the same time. And don't get me started on their cover of Phil Collins's "Against All Odds." This is, IMO, the best album released so far in the new century.

Final villian is it Revan?
sickboycp replied to Master Cypher's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The Masked Sith hasn't been identified yet. He/She is a seperate entity from Darth Sion, the Sith being held together by The Force....heheheh...wouldn't it be cool to somehow disrupt his concentration and he turns into dust? And the white-haired LS Jedi woman is commonly known as Atris after a dev mistakenly posted her name a few months back. Of course, this was retracted and remains unconfirmed by any of the people in the know. -
I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I've enjoyed the Old Republic era so much since the TOTJ comic series, so I reckon I'll probably read both of the books when they come out. Of course, that means getting them from the libary rather than paying $19.99 per book.
-
I'll play LS male with a DS male Revan just because I want to ensure that Jolee and Mission have no chance of appearing...unless I could kill them again.
-
I'll try and dig up the link for you. It was from an interview with DK that I read somewhere...might have been the Del Ray web site. Regardless, I'll send it to you in a PM when I find it.

Drew Karpyshyn (the head writer for KOTOR and one of the hardcover authors) actually wanted to write the novelization of KOTOR (he did the novelization for Throne of Bhaal) but LA wasn't willing to let him do that because of all the different endings. However, they did give him an okay to include suitably vague references to the events in KOTOR in his novel. I don't know whether or not Hand will do so as well, but expect at least a cursory mention of at least one of the characters in KOTOR in Karpyshyn's novel. And of course, I imagine that LucasBooks will use that to try and pimp the book to everyone who has played the game.

Ughh...why would you want to? Of course....if wrinkled pale skin and red eyes are your thing, more power to ya! :D

Darth Revan vs Darth Vader
sickboycp replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Wha? I thought you said in another thread that Bastila would easily defeat Anakin Skywalker (the buffed-up version of Vader.) In the game, Bastila comes out and tells Revan that he/she "is stronger than I am." If Revan is indeed stronger than Bastila, then according to your logic he/she should be able to have Vader as a light brunch. -

Funnily enough, a debate like this runs among the Jedi through the EU portion of the SW universe. On one hand there are the Jedi who advocate more offensive measures, a sort of "keeping the peace by having the biggest weapons approach" The other hand are the more conservative, traditional Jedi who argue more about a balance to things and not using the Force offensively. They feel the Jedi from the first group are skirting dangerously close to the Dark Side. Of course, in all likelihood the truth lies somewhere in between.
-
The Jedi Watchman was established as being part of the SW universe in the TOTJ comic series. Apparently, they had a responsiblity either to protect an entire planet, or a star system. I don't know exactly how they'd implement something like this in TSL, but I'm anxious to see how it would be done. I'm actually probably going to pick this class on my first playthrough.

I agree in part: however, Luke only used choke to the point that the Gamorrean guards backed off; at no time did he bust out the Force Lightning. I think Lucas intended that when the powers are intentionally used to kill/harm...that's dark side. It could be in how the powers are used. I also think it might be a good idea to create a penalty for LS characters for taking DS powers. In the first game, it just cost more Force Points. I'd also like to see you pick up DS points if you use a power like Force Drain or Plague or such powers.
-
That's pretty much the purpose of lightside powers: They are by and large curative and defensive. I expect we will see something like the following: Force Regeneration: Allows you to regenerate HP Force Revive: Revives a NPC with full or partial health. Force Absorb/Repel: Allows you to absorb or repel certain DS powers. Light side powers cannot harm another living being directly. (but they can harm droids) So obviously the LS powers will seem a bit weak at first examination.

Is this forum really functional at this point?
sickboycp replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Maybe we can have a "Star Wars EU" board or a "Star Wars off-topic" board along with the others, because so many of the discussions ongoing right now seem to be centered around the EU. That appears to be the price for absence of any new information. -
The deal's already been signed: Two hardcover books will be written about the Old Republic during the TOTJ-KOTOR era. One will be by Drew Karpyshyn, who was the head writer for KOTOR, and other is by Elizabeth Hand. Karpyshyn's will appear in the middle of 2006, Hand's in late 2007. Which would fit well in with the timeline for K3, should it come. EDIT: Fixed release dates...added comment about K3.

I think the devs have stated that no matter what, there will be certain areas/lightsaber techniques/sidequests that are only available to certain classes/prestige classes. Which is a good thing in regards to replayability.
