The things that gave KOTOR so much personality
sickboycp replied to Craftsman's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, for me, this was the game that got me back into RPGs. I had played all the Infinity Engine games in my younger days, and KOTOR reminded me how much I loved those games, while at the same time being the first good Star Wars game since TIE Fighter came out. -
Favorite KOTOR Woman (both games)

I'm going for Mira 'cos I like the background I've read so far. Gotta love a bounty hunter...even one with a conscience. -
Thanks kumquatq3!! I'm quite curious to know what the Johnny Cash-esque "Ring of Fire" refers to within the game.

I'm pretty sure the graphics in the link are still just conceptual. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they are conceptual from the magazine, not even the publishers. It's not uncommon for magazines to have their own drawings of game situations in their magazines, that are in no way related to the game in any way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The same picture was used in US magazine XBN for their October preview. I don't know whether or not the two magaines are run by the same comp or not, but I think that LA or OE was responisble.

It seems to suggest from this article that HK-50 has his assassination protocol on....and he is targeting you. Obviously he can't play a part in the storyline if you destroy him.
-
Maybe Flea from RHCP will do his voiceover in a faux-German accent.
-
Since Akari is hanging about maybe he can give an indication which mag is a bit closer to the truth. Please???
-
Thanx SilverSun. Of course, this muddies the waters somewhat. I guess we'll find out the truth in early December/mid February.

My ideal K3 would be called "Knights of the Rebellion" and is set between Ep III and Ep IV and would deal with the Jedi purge. LOL I have the whole storyline planned out in my head already. I'm just waiting for a call from Mike Gallo from Lucasarts before I go into preproduction. :D

Have you read ANY EU? The Expanded Universe of video games, comics and books has countless examples of strong female characters. It's almost become a Star Wars EU tradition.
-
Quite the opposite actually...some people's feelings on Bastila borderline on obscene.
-
Check the Hyper Mag preview from Craftsman. Last time I checked it was on this page. Craftsman has posted most of the links for updated nifo and Hyper Magazine is reputable....so though Darth Ni or Darth Nihilus might not exist, Darth Nihilis does. Of course Darth Nihilis might not be the MSG. EDIT: Link to Hyper Mag Preview

For some reason Dren Maddock has become my standard name for whatever RPG I'm playing...ever since BG. I don't even know where it came from.
-
I have to agree; I'm kind of shocked at some people's opinions of Bastila from the first game.  Of course, the same applies to some women and Carth.
-
Which should make Kreia credible then. :D And the same time, since the end of the OT, all the EU (no matter what you think of it) that has been published about SW is pushing the notion that, at least in the SW universe, there is little to no difference between men and women. There is just as many Jedi females in SW fiction (which includes the games) as men. Following that logic, there's no reason why Mira and Atris, two reasonable looking females cannot conceivably coexist in the same space. While I agree that other settings (particularly Gothic) really have no place for a large female cast, the Star Wars universe has a tradition of it, and the "strong female" archetype has a place.

I thought that Sion was the boss of the Sith Assassins?
-
IG-88: What do you get when you add a group of sentient droids and bounty hunting together? Crunchy scum-of-the-universe goodness, that's what!

The female Sith is this game is supposed to bear a resemblance to the Wicked Queen from the Disney animated movie Snow White, whom I found repulsive. Of course, this was near on 20 years ago, 'cos I don't make a habit of watching Disney films as an adult...except The Great Mouse Detective. If this is true, I think it's a good sign. OE refused to fall in with the stereotype that exists in gaming that evil women have to be hot. There are so many other directions they could take it. I for one, hope that the female Sith is of the "Marauder" prestige class, even further removing it from the "cold-blooded" woman stereotype. *shrugs* By and large, I'll judge the female Sith by whether or not she's interesting as a character. If she is, than OE succeeded. If not, well there's always NWN2.

Trying to get this slightly back to the topic.... We know that there are more than 9 possible NPCs but it is impossible to get them all in one playthrough. I reckon there will be at least one possible NPC on every planet we visit (except the last one) and the possible NPC will be pretty easy to recognize. And if we're speculating... It was suggested elsewhere (not by a dev) that White-haired chick may be the daughter of the Queen of Onderon. Sounds intriguing no? An actual Jedi Princess?!?

Caddyshack alone ensures that Rodney will make it to heaven.

My gf is a huge DCFC fan, so I decided to pick up The Postal Service for her on her birthday. Of course, I've probably listened to it about 100 times more than she has. Somehow, Ben Gibbard's work with DCFC was always a little 'we're too hip for the mainstream' for my tastes, while The Postal Service settles in a bit more of a pop niche.

Thanks Craftsman... good to know that this rumoured info actually exists. And the pic is the same from October's XBN magazine. Anyone else notice the Sith behind Atris and Sion? Is it MSG? And for anyone outside of Oz: Hyper is VERY reputable, so this info is definitely legit if they report it. EDIT: Fixed the name of the Sith Lord

sickboycp replied to sickboycp's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I have tomorrow off...for me this Wednesday is like a weekend. Besides, beer and watching the Yankees lose go together like...well, like something Star Wars related goes to something else so this post isn't completely off topic. -

Bastila vs. Atris vs. Mira
sickboycp replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm gonna give Mira the benefit of the doubt. Of course, I've always been partial to bounty hunters. Give them wrist-mounted rocket launchers and I'm hooked. This is all assuming that OE fixes Mira's model to look closer to her concept art and makes her look less....well, less like a duck.
