Looks like we have three identifiable Sith Lords as well. MSG is in the background of the picture, Sion is in the foreground and it looks as though our third Sithy(as the Taris drunks might call them) in the middle of the picture. Bah! And i swore I'd stay away from groundless speculation. Oh well, I guess that's all these boards are anyway. <_<

Um...Carth mentions that they were waiting in the hyperspace route. If the Ebon Hawk comes out of hyperspace and finds the Leviathan just sitting there there is absolutely no way they're getting away. As for tracking it, You've been seen on 3 of the planets where the Star Maps are and Taris. It's pretty obvious where to look for the Hawk And as for not sending a master.... I think Malak's attention was attracted very easily when 1) he knew Bastila was on the Ebon Hawk, and 2) Calo Nord told him who (Revan) rescued her on Taris. I don't think the Jedi Council bargained on Malak finding out who you were so quickly. EDIT: Spelling and a minor point about the Leviathan

I wasn't. All the movie posters have had the same look, why wouldn't game sequels art look like the predecessor? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Absolutely. It definitely recalls the posters used for the OT, and, at least for me, that's not a bad thing.

I've always had a problem with the Leviathan too, but my complaint mainly centers on how insanely easy Malak was to beat. Give us a cutscene fight where he mops the floor with us the first time out, says I.(like they did first time you meet Calo Nord) As regards to the idea of making the encounter randomized, you have to figure that the Sith know you're going after the Star Maps and are probably getting pretty worried after you recover 3 of them. They are going to go after you, and it's very unlikely that the Ebon Hawk is going to be able to break the tractor beam of the Leviathan. The Sith ARE definitely going after you...not just maybe. It makes sense to me that you're going to be a guest of Saul Karath at some point.

The DS is intended to be "easier" to be the quicker way, and the powers we've seen seem to support that. Of course, saying that, I imagine the defensive and curative LS powers will be beefed up as well to match the DS's new offensive powers.

Trying to steer this slightly closer to topic waters, I imagine that if there were any twists in this game, they would most likely relate to the MCA quote "Bad things happen to good people." in regards to the game. Any ideas what this could mean? I have a few, but they're all horribly cliched and I have a better opinion of Obsidian that to think they'd use them.

Grey Delisle She's quite beautiful, a fantastic musician and also happens to be the "official" video game voice for Amidala and Princess Leia, so I'm hoping LA will give her the call here. Also, Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche. Pinky/Morte and the Brain. That's all I have to say.

When will we get more info on TSL?

LOL Obviously, you aren't familiar with LA's PR department. Although, I must admit I've been pleasantly suprised with the restraint they've shown so far Around this time (two months prior to XBox release) for KOTOR, much more was known about it. For K2 there's what? About a half dozen new force powers confirmed, three NPC profiles and two planet profiles. And that's almost too much for my tastes. I bet the next two months will be a busy time at Gamespot, IGN and the LA website though. -
I dunno if the devs even read these things anymore but it's worth a shot: Do any of the male heads have beards? There was definitely an absence of beardies in K1 and I hope it's fixed!!
-
That 'thing' is also on the cover of this month's XBN. I betcha it's a Sith Lord.
-
I'm more interested in the 'other' relationships that are promised in this game: you know, the master/apprentice thing, friendly rivals, allies that you don't necessarily like but do respect...that sort of thing. The romance was fine and dandy, but I'd prefer the depth of character interaction be spread around. Cheers!

I think it's quite likely that the major promotional push for K2 will come starting in October. Right now, Battlefront is LA's top priority (since it comes out 9/21) I look for the LA PR department to kick into high-gear for K2 soon after the furor around Battlefront has died down. I think that K2-Xbox is Lucasart's only major holiday release so obviously they are going to want to push it as the "must-have" Christmas game for Xbox owners.
-
Yes that is why there is a PC version as well. I see Obsidian is keeping up Black Isle moderation tradiction .... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you'd read the post above Adria's you'd see that someone asked if K2 was going to be released on GC or PS2. I believe that was what she was responding too.

Also, wasn't it specifically mentioned in the June EGM article that other than downloads (and inevitable patches, especially if it is a Dec. release date) that there would be absolutely NO ONLINE SUPPORT (ie multiplayer, co-op)

Or take Planescape: Torment, Chris Avellone's most famous game. (PS:T Spoiler below) That ended with The Nameless One regaining his mortality, but doomed to spend eternity on the Lower Planes fighting as a nameless soldier in The Blood Wars. Chris Avellone has gone on record several times in interviews for TSL saying that he's a big fan of bittersweet endings. I wouldn't be surprised (in fact I expect it) if we saw something similar here.

This stock answer's driving me crazy! I almost hope Lucasarts keep the earlier release date so we can just get all the new information a lot quicker. -
I'm watching France self-destruct as I type. It's quite funny really...and it may throw Group B wide open (except for the Swiss) Though I must say I think the Croatian Olympic Diving Coach will be giving Rosso a call to see if he's interested in going to Athens. EDIT: D'oh! Poor Igor Tudor. He's not having a very good day.

Personally, I'm for romances if AND ONLY IF they fulfill two conditions in a CRPG. 1) It adds to character development in a natural, unforced way. 2)It doesn't seem like a high school romance (see any Bioware romance for an example) There has only been one game that succeeded in this for me, and it was (surprise, surprise!) Planescape:Torment. The Nameless One's romance with Annah (and to a lesser extent FFG) was done extremely well. It was understated, it worked well with the characters, and it didn't really place them in any forced, awkward situations that sent the PC on a meaningless sidequest. MCA should save the high school romances for the high school cRPG that he's dreaming of.

First the thing about LOTOR movies that it was based on the books so your 'reusing content' doesn't hold water. KOTOR2 is based on the SW universe, not the first game- a brand new story, characters, etc show this. Secondly, Bioware created Sleyheron as a brand new planet. Unlike other places (like Dantooine to use your example) have a documented EU history that Obsidian could work with and build upon. The only source material for Sleyheron is probably the writer's notes and designer's concept art. Besides, we know there is only going to be seven worlds. Two of which (Dantooine and Telos) already have roots in the first game. Adding Sleyheron would make make almost half of the worlds that are visitable based off of KOTOR1 concepts. As Drakon already noted that Bioware gave several pointed ideas what Sleyheron looks like through Yuthera. As a designer, I personally would find that very limiting. Besides, it being in Hutt Space means it won't be too affected by events in Republic/Sith space (ie not much difference) Wouldn't it be more interesting to see Obsidian come up with something new? The project as a whole is already a Bio hand-me-down. Do all the concepts have to be as well?

I think it's pretty clear that GL realized he messed up with the whole Ewok/Wookie thing. After all, Wookies are in the house for Episode II, apparently a few Wookies that will make Chewbacca look like a baby!! Or one could be cynical and say that having exhausted the possiblity of little and cuddly, George is exploring the marketing of big and cuddly.

My prediction for tomorrow: England 2 (Rooney, Scholes- he has to score soon) Switzerland 0 France 3 (Trezeguet, Henry (2) Croatia 1 (Prso)
-
But enough of a difference to start entirely from scratch like someone suggests?
-
Five years is a different time period?
-
It would be somewhat interesting, except for the fact that it was originally supposed to be in KoTOR I, and I would prefer Obsidian to come up with some of their own worlds rather than use the scraps that Bio couldn't fit into their game.
