  1. This is my point exactly. The casual fan is NOT going to care, Nuke. And besides, Obsidian is only following up on the continuity from Knights of the Old Republic I, so within that context, the Valley is perfectly fine. How the Valley doesn't match up with the rest of the EU is a topic for the Bio boards because they were the creators of the KOTOR Valley.
  2. Somehow, I don't think we'll see Revan beyond KOTOR2. Remember, the official word on his cameo in K2 was "we learn the fate of Revan."
  3. Nur's been spending all his time on Theforce.net boards lately, or i'm sure he'd have something to add on this front. To my mind, yes, it was a mistake, but it established a setting that casual gamers (who don't even know TOTJ exist) have become familiar with. To change that just for a few continuity nuts would be confusing and probably piss off the casual fans that made KOTOR such a success in the first place.
  4. "Improving Burgers at Warp Speed!" Much better than Lindsey Lohan's "It's Burger-licious" although it doesn't compare to Terry Bradshaw's "Served at the Immaculate Reception" :D I forgot about Shatner's reality show. I was talking about his work as Denny Crain on ABC's Boston Legal. It's probably one of the best shows of the new season.
  5. So, William Shatner has a brand new album out, a network television show (which, by the way, I highly recommend because of Shatner, James Spader and uber-hottie Rhona Mitra) and is the author of one of the new sayings on the Heinz ketchup bottle. Could 2005 be all about Shatner?
  6. Don't mind Laozi, he likes mentioning something about shoes in every topic. One of those little forum peculiarities that cannot be explained or understood.
  7. The casual fan (who far outnumbers the fans who have read TOTJ) would complain if it looked any different than the first game. If they had to choose between the two I'm sure OE would rather alienate the minority of fans as opposed to the majority.
  8. Yay for Green! It's my favorite color. :D
  9. To my mind, BIS's strength has always been an ability to craft really memorable NPCs and an engaging, well-written story. Working within the confines of Lucas's world, I don't think Obsidian will be able to reinvent the wheel, as it were, but I think that it should be able to transcend the 'space opera' genre it occupies, something Lucas has failed to do in two of his most recent films.
  10. I don't think that the devs would do that to players who choose to end the game LS. Besides, that kind of demolishes the whole 'redemption' theme that ran through the first game. I reckon we'll find Revan either dead/held prisoner in one of the Tombs in the Valley of the Sith.
  11. It makes sense. If the planet was attacked (by other Sith or the Republic) cutting off the spaceport would be one of the first objectives itself. It looks as though the Hawk landed directly in the valley itself.
  12. Maybe one of the mods should remove it from the front page?
  13. That doesn't mean someone within the organization couldn't rise through the ranks. Besides, it's been about five years.
  14. And with as many people clamoring for info on Atris/WHC, LA's publicity department will probably hold off as long as possible before releasing any character info on her.
  15. Try the Obsidian front page. Obsidian Entertainment
  16. Gamestop EB Games Just noticed... The strategy guide for K2 is available from Gamestop from 11/30/04. I liked the background on the characters the first guide gave, but I didn't use it at all for the walkthrough. I'm so hardcore
  17. Why then had Obsidian actually linked it on their main page? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Probably because they're such sluts for publicity :D
  18. I didn't like Bastila as a character but I admit that Jennifer Hale did a very good job. She has a lot of VO experience in cartoons, video games and commercials. She was in Baldur's Gate, Powderpuff Girls, Metal Gear: Sons of Liberty among others before KOTOR. And she's fairly easy on the eyes in real life, too.
  19. The Old Republic was still around in that time period. The New Republic was founded after the death of the Emperor at the Battle of Endor in ROTJ.
  20. Orange sabers were in the first game. It required a special crystal available in Yavin Station. New confirmed Saber colors IIRC are: silver, light blue, lemon-yellow...any others? EDIT: Fixed colors.
  21. Dates as of right now are: XBOX-North America December 6 PC/XBOX Worldwide- February 15
  22. Meh. <_< It looks like the writer of the preview got all of his information from one of IGN or Gamespot's previews and just rewrote it.
  23. Agreed. I'm not too certain about the elements of twitch gaming that Jade Empire contains. Of course, that's probably 'cos my reflexes are crap, but still...
  24. I'd settle for improved pathfinding. Certain areas in the original game were horrendous in how it took quite a bit of time to find that one exact spot for you to squeeze through.
  25. Well between the noobs and the sheer boredom associated with a information drought, expect to see the same threads at least 3 times in a weekly period.
