Yeah, I'm sure it'll get easier and a little quicker once I get out of the low level range. But, it's still pointless unless, as you said, some XP were involved. Be that as it may, I'm enjoying it more this time through as I no longer have this bitch around, interupting my entertainment. Hooray!

Mass Effect 2 on Insanity. I don't even know why I'm bothering with it. How do you turn 1 minute of content into 15 minutes? Throw waves of clone enemies at the player. Damn this is getting tedious and redundant.

It must be and I'm glad because I'm so sick of the medieval/fantasy setting or the super duper alien/mutant monster thing and the Fallout post apocalyptic is boring as hell. So a big Western is welcome territory to me. Oh cool, yeah. Well what about the whole trading part of the game? Is there a decent amount of stuff to buy or trade? Weapons? Clothes? Horses? Wagons? Prostitutes? Slaves?

Cool feedback. Is the game really deep(besides story) or is there just a wide variety things to do as opposed to things being fully fleshed out?

I just started GTAIV and it's exactly what you'd expect(shocker!!). Also, playing a bit of Metro 2033 after getting bored out of the beginning stages of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. Metro 2033 has damn fine atmosphere so far.

I've never seen Fistfull of Dynamite, so I just Netflixed the sucker. As well, also just picked up a cheap copy of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, to give me a Western fix since the PC version wont be out in who knows when.

Ah those are some of the best movie theme tracks of all time. Nowadays it's just generic symphonic scores for the most part.

Outlaws was awesome. The music was such a Morricone ripoff but it just gave it that great atmosphere.

Not really. If the actual gunplay feels good and has realistic sound quality then it should be fine. But it would be cool to have a few "special invented" guns too if they're done right.

I love this setting as I'm a fan of the old westerns and such. It definetly beats another medieval/fantasy/space/post apocalyptic setting. The trailers look great. I'm loving the life the characters show through animations and fun voice acting. I'll be playing the hell out of this game if it comes to PC and is actually a decent port(although am worried there).

I look forward to Peter's prerelease hype more than I do any of his games so this oughta be fun. The look of the game is about the same to me.

Even though Jade Empire was a bit on the cheap side with the universe, the setting was still pretty fun, largly thanks to the soundtrack and cartoony characters. I liked the quests but the story wasn't so hot and the dragon lady bits were too much like Galadriel from LOTR. The combat was my main gripe, too repetitive and easy. There were too many different combat forms that all fell under the same methods of execution(light attack, power attack, block). The combat is just dull after a while but from start to finish I actually felt like I've played a game unlike with Fallout 3 of which I was left with "wtf was the point of that?" after the main "story" ended.

Who here has the GOTY version on steam? I'm late with playing this game and so do you actually have to complete the game once before the Broken Steel content comes into play on a second playthrough or somethng? I can't figure out how to continue playing after beating the main quest and have tried all options at the end. Oh..nevermind..at the lauch of the game window I didn't think to select the appropriate Data File.

Looks like he still hasn't smiled though and never will since he "never smiled as a kid". Some of the goofiest dialogue right there. Screenshots are looking good.

It seems like a decent time waster. Is that little talking robot thing not the most nerdy type of humor or what? I hope the rest of the game doesn't fall in line with that.

NWN2 and SOZ, five bucks each on Direct 2 Drive.
Blodhemn replied to Matthew Rorie's topic in Computer and Console
I haven't played NWN2. MOTB is an expansion and I need NWN2 to play it even though the official site says you don't need to have played through NWN2 for MOTB? Is that right? -
I didn't use any on the giant crab. It was kickin my ass at first but I was having performance issues. I guess since I practically put nothing into alchemy, my combat was a bit stronger. I mainly just used the map and hit the alt key to find my way around crypts and every now and then picking up a torch.

I never grinded for levels in the Witcher, but I did some grindage to get money. There a lot of little things to buy in that game that are worth a lot of money : books, alcohol for elixirs, recipes, sometimes ingredients, parts to enhance your blade, etc. I didn't use alchemy even one time in the game. That's just not my thing. Books? You could find plenty lying around or get 'em in quests.. same as all the other things you mentioned. Boring, standard stuff. Wasn't there like one armor upgrade to buy early on in the game and then nothing else till the Raven quest near the end? Maybe I missed something but I hit about all quests. It's a very stripped down game as far as good and unique equipment/items unless you're really into alchemy I guess.

Yeah I didn't like playing as Geralt. A lot of that had to do with the terrible voice acting(English) which came across as taking itself way too serious. It became especially apparent when it was "joke" time for one of the tacky/retarded lines to be read off in conversation. One Witcher experience is enough for me. There were a few nice big quests as far as decision making and consequences but the reward was little and the actual gameplay for each step of the quests was, for the most part, downright boring. The game picked at your imagination and I felt that was more rewarding than anything you got that was actually executed in game. Another game where you end up with tons of money through grinding out levels with nothing of worth to spend it on.

Well I figured out the deal with my 4 minute loading screens. I noticed that my saved games directory was none other than 12gb. I quick save left and right due to the random crash issues and come to find out there were about 600 some odd saved games if I remember right. So I deleted all of them except for about the last 6 and the game loaded almost instantly and the response time of my mouse seemed to be better because I easily killed everything from the crab onwards without dying or using potions or anything.

Um, yes? We will wait. And? Annnnnnd... you might actually have to try some real spread in the meantime instead of that yeast infeasted crap.
-
But we will wait, wont we?
-
Keyword there: wait. Haha that's all people's been doing and will continue to do so for who knows how long. I used to care about having a hard copy of my games, but not anymore. Case in point, last night I had no clue where my Stalker disc ran off to - if I would've gotten it through steam I wouldn't have wasted all that time looking for the disc or the compatible no cd patch of which I had to opt for.

It looks like a living, breathing landscape..funny that it takes toon type graphics to make it seem more alive. There's just more character there that is hard to pull off in a more realistic setting.
-
The game looks pretty good except I'm not liking how flat the character models look. I hope this game is good.. one of the more unique looking ones to come out as of late. I just hope there's a bit of substance to go along with all the flash.
