She's so angry. What I would do to punch her in the butt..

Commander hack in BF2. I can't believe the game still ran smoothly with the amount of buggies being dropped. Look at the amount on the minimap.

The voice acting, writing, setting and humor is what this game is all about. I just wish there were more things that involved the Santa Monica and Hollywood areas. I agree that the main story wasn't so hot and was annoyed that you had to follow the same path until the end before you got much or any say so. I didn't like the combat either. Good that there are so many different ways to kill but to me the only one that really felt polished was the use of vampire powers.

Other than the burning and dismembering part? Nice screenies.

If you could make any game, what would it be like?
Blodhemn replied to Bokishi's topic in Computer and Console
I would make a game that's completely abstract. No story, there's just a bunch of unique characters in a dark world that somehow altogether make sense of it all. You suffer from severe psychological problems and are rarely able to distinguish dreams from reality. I would like to use this to create moments of bizarre visual and more importantly audial anomalies. Only view is first person mode, however you can see yourself in mirrors and such if you want to play dress up. You know nothing and by the end of the game you'll still know nothing. The more careless you are, the harder it becomes to recognize your surroundings, friendly faces will distort and what you should be doing will be unclear and eventually if you're not careful you erode to a point that it's better to just start a new game. People will fear you because you're a crazy man, or woman, and you'll also fear them because to you, they're the demented ones. As far as game mechanics, RPG style conversations, melee style combat with a big emphasis on well timed blocks and counters or you can just use a gun and the character will be given some sort of mind powers as well. The interface/menus are almost nonexistent, bare bones style. Everything you need is right in front of you. Simple for maximum immersion. -
I've played some of it. The only thing I found useful is aiming the bow/hookshot with the wiimote as opposed to using a controller. It still doesn't feel as precise as a mouse though. Oh, and whatever that thing is that controls the wind, that's a nice touch. I just expected more and I guess Zelda doesn't totally lend itself to the full potential of the controller. I expect the next Metroid should really run with it. True. I just hope they have more adult oriented games this time around.

That was the first game I got interested in after the Wii was first announced, really into the whole black & white look and the setting but wtf is that alien looking thing in the screenies about? Some sort of myth during that time period I hope? My brother has a Wii(can't tell you how wrong this sounds) and I'm not very impressed with the controls so far nor with the horrible sounding little speaker in the "wiimote". I actually just use it to play Gamecube games. I'm sure they'll eventually get it right, well they already have IF you're into Wii Sports.

Wow! Nice! I noticed, while this game lacks in some parts graphically, the textures are quite amazing. Quality texture work like that is hard to come by and I'm so easily amused by it.

I sometimes do that with books I buy. I find I hate them, but feel the need to read the entire thing. Though, I've never had a book last 40 hours. Yup. I do this with everything just so I can say I hated it afterwards with full conviction. Plus, I'd probably be just sleeping if I didn't.

Dunno. I've never heard of it. So you tell us about it. It's the end of the week and I'm all googled out. I started a thread about it a couple weeks ago and in doing so I created the boards biggest failure. Did you see the new video that shows the in game footage? Or better yet, did you play Starbreeze's previous game - Chronicles of Riddick? Army of Two is like Contra gave birth to...well a future Contra.
-
It's like a 3d platformer with a "story".

The Darkness(why the hell doesn't this game get any hype?) Super Paper Mario Mass Effect Bioshock Ninja Gaiden 2 Assassin's Creed Fable 2 Army of Two L.A. Noire Obsidian Alien RPG ...
-
Yeah, I remember you saying that before. Those guys are nothing but quality. Not sure but I hope so. Hopefully they do as like with Riddick. First person style games work better on a PC and I can only imagine how bad the physics are going to wreck my PC. Another nice little note is that the TVs in the game will be playing some full-length movies(Nosferatu - the silent version) and episodes of The Simpsons and who knows what else. Concerning disc storage this may be the first time we see an advantage Blu-Ray having over DVD in games. Although it's over a meaningless feature, still more disc space = more content at less compressed levels. It's a start.

I don't know how to link Gamespot vids so here's an inferior youtube link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijdXUg1fTYM Ok just forget about the story and look at all of the ragdoll done to an excessive degree. That pretty much just sold the game to me right there. And with those big tentacle things with heads, why would you even want to use a gun? Doing the crazy sounding voices coming from "the Darkness" is none other than Mike Patton. What an odd choice but it works!
-
Yeah, I used the wall jump + Y technique and the Horseman was the easiest boss in the game for me. The one that really got to me was the giant red lizards followed by the tentacle guy that swallowed Rachel(if I remember right). I died so many times that at one point I ejected the disc, frisbee'd it across the room, took the case off the shelf, stomped it then walked out. But of course I went back for more the next day. There's just something about getting your ass handed to you for so long and then FINALLY being able to hand it back to 'em and say to yourself, "Hey, that wasn't so bad..".

That or melee combat that is as thorough or fun. That would probably be my favorite game of all time. Just how much better would the Elder Scrolls series be with a fighting system as responsive and fluid such as this???????

I'm replaying this game now, although I said I never would(combat annoyed me) and I'm really liking it much more this time around. Maybe that's because I just finished with the crapfest that was KOTOR II for the final time. The difference in the quality of quests and atmosphere between the two is like night and day. It took 20 hrs for KOTOR II to get interesting on my 2nd playthrough whereas Bloodlines is fun from the start. Though it does feel a bit odd playing as female..

Oblivion. So happy that game is no longer a part of me.

Well I never watched the Riddick movies, nor do I ever want to but the game was one of the best experiences I've had from start to finish. Incredibly solid gameplay. So I expect no less here and I've never read the Darkness comics and wont hold anything against it. The game looks to be coming along well. I'll just have to be getting that 360 thingy.
