As they should be. Any religion with members up in arms over something so trivial should be disgusted, embarassed and immediatly denounce those on the street up in arms.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines Quake 1 (though the two expansions improved endings quite a bit. 'You beat shub-niggurath, id salutes you!' is not an ending.) Half Life 2 (One of the worst. All that way for a repeat of HL1's ending, except even worse) Deus Ex 1 & 2 (Loved these games, but all that play time, excellent story telling for 30 second endings was weak) KoTOR 2 (Ending wouldn't have been so bad if they had tied up the zillion loose strings everywhere.)

I keep hearing of how Islam is a religion of peace etc etc, yet it seems just about every insane act of hatred, bigotry and lack of tolerance seems to be coming from it.

Beat it a few days ago and loved it. I especially loved (don't read until well in Act III) Overall the game had a great story, characters and music. I'd have to say my two main disapointments are the handling of what happened to your companions from the first game and the how the spirit eater function was handled. Its not that I didn't like the function, it added urgency to the situation, but I absolutly see no reason Satiate gives you lawful points. It made playing a Bard/Shadow Thief of Amn/Invisible Blade a pain. I wasn't using satiate to follow some rule of the land... I was using it to prevent myself from having to devour a spirit and boost my craving level. Heh, discussion on the Spirit Eater alignment changes have probably been discussed to death, but like I said I just recently beat the game and have ignored discussions on it till now. I also really wish some of the new features of MotB could be retrofitted to NwN 2 OC, like being able to see how much NPC's like/dislike you under their portrait, have text pop up telling you during face to face conversations if their feelings about you changed etc. I also loved how NPCs in MotB each had their own specific level/experience and the companions didn't ALL level up at the exact same time you did.

In regards to communism I disagree. During the 60's, the Indonesian Communist Party (ICP) were at its strongest. They were the only group powerful enough to have publicly assassinated their political foes. Countless civilians were massacred during their attempt to topple our government. People lived in fear of the ICP for their methods were merciless and brutal and it culminated in the assassination of 6 army generals. Those were dark times and I'm grateful that God somehow guided our nation to have conquered communism. -------------------------- @Guard Dog: That and the inherent bias in the western media. No disrespect intended, but with your current president's lackluster track record, I'm finding it rather difficult not to doubt the intelligence of american voters. Especially with posts such as these: Thats rich... suddenly you've turned from a copy paster with no thoughts of their own to an intelligent poster eh? Nope, you are still doing. Saying I wouldn't vote for somebody because you would is truly as unintelligent as saying you would vote for someone because they went to a muslim school at some point in their life. That really qualifies someone for presidency... and some other tool gives me crap for that post too. You make posts accusing the US of being the worst terrorist nation on the planet, sympathize with real terrorists... then make another balogny post about how great Obama is for no other reason than attending a muslim school... AND you are disapointed at two of the responses. Poor you. "That and the inherent bias in the western media." Says someone who gets their news from the local mosque and is convinced Israel is the 'Great Satan'. Or is that 'Little Satan'? I can never remember which is which...

Loved that movie when I was younger. Its kind of funny because without that single scene where Steve Martin curses out the lady at the car rental place the movie would have probably been rated PG/PG-13. It really enforced that idea when I saw it on the ABC Family Channel a year or two ago. The edit/redub of the curse-out scene was even funnier! "You ::jerks:: can't keep a car? Well you know what you are? You're a ::big mean:: person!"

If he has your vote he doesn't have mine. Thanks for the heads up on who NOT to vote for.

In NwN 2 I'm currently playing a Bard named Swift Tard who can be quite Hard to best with his Shards. Ok, that was crap, but its true. I can't speak for the PnP bard, but in NwN 2 they are very helpful in a party. The points where I really have a hard time involve one on one events, especially in the Mulsantir lodge in MotB.

Girl Commits Suicide Over Internet Prank
GreasyDogMeat replied to Deadly_Nightshade's topic in Way Off-Topic
How simultaneously depressing and retarded. Sounds like something that should be on one of those daytime soap-operas. This story seems to be picking up a bit more, intervies on tv shows, bigger stories on it etc. Also, it seems that it wasn't the father of another girl, it was the mother of a teenage friend who had a falling out that set this up. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/21882976/?GT1=10547 -
Shortest FPS I've played would probably be Prey. Very first time I beat it was in almost exactly 6 hours, while the second time took me almost exactly 5 hours. (Only reason I know is because Prey is one of the few fps games that keeps track of how long you have played. May have been a bad idea on the dev's part considering it lets every customer realize the 10+ hour game they were promised couldn't possibly be beaten in 10 hours unless you took numerous breaks, leaving your character staring at a wall for a few hours every now and then.) I do like Prey, despite it's ease and short lenght. It is nice to see such an imaginative setting and so many unique features and abilities.

An episode of S&M is free on fileplanet. Haven't tried this before, but I think I'll give it a go. http://www.fileplanet.com/182132/180000/fi...33;-(Free-Game)

Somebody else liked the old sega Streets of Rage music too eh? Favorite tune was the first stage in Streets of Rage 2, 'Go Straight', and Streets of Rage 1 had some good tunes too. Perfect 'beat-em up' soundtrack. -Some of my favorites of the old 16-bit era games are the Donkey Kong series, Sonic games usually had a few good ones and I liked the Genesis 'Batman & Robin' soundtrack. Had awesome boss music when fighting the joker. Thinking about these oldies takes me back. There are some great 'improved' and modernized versions of old game music at http://www.ocremix.org/. I especially love the Donkey Kong remixes, they sound amazing. Streets of Rage also has some great remixes. -Icewind Dale had a fantastic soundtrack all around and is one of the few games where it is hard for me to find a weak track. Its actually kind of hard to choose a favorite overall soundtrack when it comes to Icewind Dale 1 vs Planescape. -Icewind Dale II had some really great songs, but, the whole soundtrack wasn't quite as good overall imho. -SiN episode 1 has an awesome main menu track and ending credit track. -Most WWII shooters have excellent orchestral main menu tracks. Few, imho, top Medal of Honor Allied Assault. -Resident Evil 4 has an awesome soundtrack. I love the 'infiltration' track and the creepy heartbeat music. -Hitman series has some awesome music. Jesper Kyd is second only to Jeremy Soule as far as video game composers go imho. -Descent blew me away when I played it years ago, both with it's awesome graphics and techno/electronic soundtrack. Perfect for a game about blowing up robots. The sequels had a few decent tracks, but I loved almost every single track in Descent 1, especially the awesome/creepy/atmospheric briefing music before each mission. Sounded like it was lifted from some big budget AAA sci-fi flick. -Crusader No Regrets/Remorse has a few awesome tracks. Never actually played the game, just got some of the music and loved the menu track and mission 1 music. -Battletoads the Arcade Game. -Most game soundtracks by Jeremy Soule. Its funny though, I thought his worst music was actually in Oblivion, despite it winning several awards for the music... go figure. -While I prefer id's online shooter's better than Epic's (Better balancing & gameplay imho), I think the Unreal series has excellent sci-fi music. -Quest for Glory series had some great music for it's time. -Alien Trilogy had some cool music, often with odd sloshing/bubbling alien noises. -Bill Brown usually does good video game music. I loved the theme/main menu music to Undying. No idea what 'spearo sparrow' means though.

Alien - Aliens (Though less of a horror movie) Predator (Great build up to seeing the creature) The Thing (This movie scared the living sh!t out of me as a kid) Evil Dead Trilogy Jaws (Even more frightening if you've seen/read what real sharks do to people) Any Abbot & Castello Meet blah movies.

Atari announces Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate
GreasyDogMeat replied to Kelverin's topic in Computer and Console
Just wanted to link this interview about Mysteries of Westgate I found while over on the bio forums. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Inter...tail&id=311 Mysteries is looking better all the time, and those water hydra things look amazing. -
Finally picked up a copy of MotB, and I'm in the process of uninstalling NwN 2, so I can reinstall for 'safety'. Can't wait to fire this puppy up!

Atari announces Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate
GreasyDogMeat replied to Kelverin's topic in Computer and Console
Did you try the free cancelled premium module Darkness Over Daggerford? It was created by Ossian Studios, currently working on this new NwN 2 premium module and it was quite impressive. It was almost as long as the expansions and was very enjoyable, so I actually have high hopes for Mysteries of Westgate. About my only concern is how these digital downloads will be handled. I'm really hoping it doesn't feature online authentication nonsense every time you want to load the module up or load a save game. -

I really wasn't fond of the internet varification process with NwN 1 premium modules and I hope NwN 2 modules don't use the same system. Even when you load after dying it would do a varification so internet access was a must. They did eventually release most of the premium modules on a CD which was a nice alternative. NwN 1 Premium Modules varied in quality. Some were, unfortunatly, utter garbage. I have nothing against dungeon crawls, I loved Icewind Dale and still play it, but Infinite Dungeons was mind numbing repetition combined with ridiculous monster groups, lame random quests and horrendous load times (6+ minutes in larger dungeons). Shadowguard & Witches Wake had some great starts and settings but ended just as you started getting into them. I'd have to say my favorites were Pirates of the Sword Coast (great sense of humor, variety, locations, characters and had actual endings) and Kingmaker. Wyvern Crown had some good moments too, but just didn't strike me as much as the aforementioned shorter (but also complete) modules. I'm glad the first NwN 2 premium module is coming from Ossian, as I think they did a fantastic job on Darkness Over Daggerford. I wonder why DOD was cancelled as a premium module, as it was better than almost all of the Premium Modules put together imho. There was another planned Premium Module that was cancelled, Tyrants of the Moonsea, but I can see why it was cancelled as it was the third in a trilogy (Siege of Shadowdale - Crimson Tides of Tethyr and Tyrants), and was a bit harsher than most official NwN content. The trilogy is actually quite good though, with Siege being the weak point and Crimson Tides being the best imho. -
If they are on a personal break... food/bathroom/whatever, are they still absolved as the lady in the video appears to be doing nothing but picking up some food. This guy can deffinitly get annoying though. One video he says "YOU BROKE THE LAW" about 10-20 times over and over in an annoying loud voice. Alright pal, we get it, get the badge, report it... move on and SHUT UP ALREADY!
-
Basically, this guy walks around the streets of New York city looking for traffic cops who break the law. There are other vids as well, just search for 'Jimmy Justice' He catches a traffic cop who parks in front of a fire hydrant DURING a fire, then confronts her. "Are you on drugs?" So, is he doing a good thing? Waste of time? Does he go too far? Not far enough? Think its fake or the real deal? Personally, I like what he's doing. If I were to do what these traffic cops are doing I would be paying HEFTY fines. I do think he gets a bit too angry about it... get the phootage, report it... move on. I'm not sure if its real or fake. On the one hand, he certainly has good luck catching these situations. On the other hand, I'm not sure someone could/would go to the trouble of getting actors, fire trucks and police vehicles to film these confrontations. New York sure has a lot of bad traffic cops...

Science can't decide which is better for your health... Margarin or Butter... so I'll hold my decision on global warming. Both sides have a lot to gain for pushing their own agendas. I don't put much stock in the Nobel 'Peace' Prize. Mother Theresa? Sure. Yassar Arafat? What? NO! Bin Laden will be up for a Nobel Peace Prize next.

Quake Wars. Loving it. Perfect balance between the weapons and classes... unlike *cough* that other class based mp game. About my only complaint, similar with NwN 2, is the lack of ragdolls so bodies stick out of inclines. Planning on getting Mask of the Betrayer, but no stores close by seem to have it. May eventually order it. I went to the official MoTB web page and I love the new music... or atleast the 6 new songs they let you preview.

When Bioware started releasing games first on X-Box with KoTOR I started losing interest in them. When they abandoned d&d/d20 rules I lost even more interest, then came Jade Empire ... so at this point it doesn't matter much to me. EA might actually help Bioware... or not.

Bah, just went out to check if any local stores had Mask of the Betrayer in. Nada
