What fundamental force power would you want
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Mind control/Persuade is "technically" an LS power. Ofcourse you could use it for evil but referring back to Star Wars, Obi Wan uses it to peacefully get past stormtroopers and stops a guy selling Death Sticks, while Sith in general wouldn't bother; they just threaten. Hmm, sensing/seeing through walls and stuff is useful, but seeing the future would probably make me into a mad disturbed Anakin guy. I voted Push/Pull cos it just seems to be the most practical, and they made a bigger deal of it than jump or speed so I guess I just picked up on that and did the whole imagination thing of just waving my hand to push or pull (like what your character does in Jedi Academy). -
I found the whole early bit of the game confusing and I seeing the "Recent History" quest disappear (and me being no more enlightened), ended up being a bad sign of what was coming later on. I don't they actually say what happened between K1 and K2 besides from what you find out, but things like seeing the NavComputer locked and stuff are supposed to be the drop clues for you piece together a story. With regards to HK, maybe they left him alone since he was "inferior" model.

People have already told you how it works, so I'll just give you what I thought of it (I'm a big fan of JK series, even though I suck online, so I just stopped playing MP). Jedi Academy Single is more like an add-on to Jedi Outcast, and the story means nothing (at least it makes sense and sticks to the point...). I basically consider it a "Movie Simulator", since, well, I guess that's what the game moves are modelled after. I've already said my bit K1/K2 earlier, but I'll just add that K2 had good ideas, but in the end it was poor execution. (and yes, I voted on the end result, not what could've been)

This is probably why I like K1 better than K2. The only story with the characters was turning them into Jedi. In K1 you had character quests, decent romance quests, and no stupid influence.
-
In K1, the story had a twist In K2, the story got twisted

It could've been a guy from LucasArts too. Either way, they must've really liked the Matrix cos as Agent Smith had some pretty wacky goals, so did Kreia.
-
I personally liked K1 better but this is a bit like the Matrix movies. Some people think K2 is better, some people think K1 is better, probably cos the story got all warped and the ending was screwed up even more by cut content. Some people found the typcial K1 story boring, I'm one those who don't mind those. Both games are good, K1 is better.

This is probably more from playing Jedi Academy than KotOR, but I suppose it still applies. Which of the fundamental force powers would you want? These are the powers that are improved regardless of LS/DS in Jedi Knight/Academy and I suppose the same happens in the movies but not as explicit. (with regards to Push/Pull, I'm referring to the quick reflex action ones, not like pulling down celings like Dooku)

I've got Uni exams now so I'll be stuck studying for the next few weeks  , but I've decided to put out a very basic, error-prone, "must-crash" test version, which has a preliminary version of the KotOR II Pazaak Game interface (unfortunetly not the deck config screen yet). Since I won't have to time to work on it until exams are over, this basic test version will give people the chance to try out the new K2 look and post any comments or suggestions. http://www.k0m3k.htmlz.net/pazaak/PurePazaak_Test.zip (please read the readme too) If haven't been on the Obsidian or BioWare forums long enough to know about the Pazaak stuff, go to: http://kotor-theme.50megs.com for a quick intro and screenshots (I don't recommend building up a player file on that test version because it might not work in the final thing, whenever that comes out).

I'm leaning towards the Master for a short while like Episode 2 and Jedi Academy.

Stop the whole Exile + Raven fighting the Sith.
dufflover replied to MTJ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
All I'll say is that I found Obsidian's "Matrix-style" story of bigger, deeper threats (True Sith) and prophecies or mystical myths (force wounds/killing the force) rather ... welll crap. I do want to see Revan again (with Bastila ), back in normal space with normal enemies. -
Star Wars III, hottest actress??
dufflover replied to jedione12's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
(w00t) btw, it's "Across the Stars" - minor point If this is a "vote" where's the poll? (me > Portman) -
The "Kreia, are you Jedi or Sith" cutscene
dufflover replied to Artem's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
To say Kreia had to turn into Darth Traya (and deliberately go "bad") is a pretty lame deal. I just considered her a crazy old coot who had wild fantasies of trying destroy the force. Now whether it would've been in the SW Universe was obviously never tested but to even consider doing it is crazy enough. In the end, I have no problem with Kreia being a Sith - just not a normal one. -
Star Maps Or Jedi Masters
dufflover replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If you're quick enough you can create a poll after the post is created. In the end - Star Maps. I expected that after getting the masters, the LS path would have them in battle vs Sith, not necessarily in your party but you get idea; think start of Star Forge level. too bad it took a weird turn and never eventuated. Star Maps led to something where as finding the Masters didn't lead to much - didn't involve anything about stopping the Sith. (don't get me wrong, the game was still fun) -
A (pretty obvious) bug

Probably would've been able to get more info sending them a PM. Anyway, I'm not suprised at no updates - do you really expect updates every few days... I've never mucked around with modding or the module files and stuff but I think the idea is that you download them and place them into the game folder(s) and then you cheat to access those areas. These module files are what was done of the Droid Factory/Planet.

In KotOR I've always played Male/LS first, then DS (male or female). Male/LS usually gives the best initial play through with the most story and gimics - I could just be too into the fact that Star Wars is the story of how LS eventually wins. DS was easier cos of the extra credits here and there, but I think the reason why I find LS more fulfilling is because DS options tend to chop quests short by taking the "easy" way out.

Whatever you want it to be. Probably just the last name you give him in player creation. Not giving him a last name is just part of making the fact that they never say your name seemless.

Would you buy KOTOR if it wasn't Star Wars?
dufflover replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I voted Yes but it's a pretty big what if. however, I probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place because I hate RPG's (and SW has been the only exception). -
I've only played one game and that was Male so I've never had Disciple in my party, but from what I saw he reminded too much of Prince Charming from Shrek 2.

I found Mission's brother!!
dufflover replied to Arathorn_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I knew that guy reminded of something...heh, they even made his character just as desperate. -
I'm satisfied with it on a whole but wouldn't agree with the way it was handled/directed (storywise). Ofcourse you can rarely please everyone so I'm not mad or fustrated but I would be more suspicious of Obsidian games now cos of their style.

Pre-Game Thoughts and Imaginations
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
When I heard that a Jedi would be guiding you, I thought it would be Atris since the white hair made her look old (I never even considered a snowy enviroment look) . For the Sith Lords, I imagined that each had their own Sith force and main ability (or class). The pecking order I was thinking of was: 1. Visas, a sorta easy-pushover intro boss, since she looked the least menacing 2. Sion, a real strong fighting person "Guardian" style character 3. Nihilus, the main central guy in the pic with the mean mask. Harder than Sion and with more focus on dark force powers. (never even considered Kreia cos I didn't know about her)
