I want the series (well, this whole plot anyway) to end in K3.
-
Yes...an Atris true to the concept art. btw, anyone consider making an index 1st or 2nd post with links to the posts with art in them?
-
Well it would've been designed and produced along side the game so could just be stuff that was changed. Another possiblity is that with the short time they needed to have *some* screenshots done by a certain time, so they quickly put together a scene.
-
my guess would be LS Exile vs DS Revan, like how Katarn went to that Sith world place, and went missing, turning out to be sucked to DS.
-
The speculation (and it's only that) is that Exile and Revan fight each other, so I say Huge Battle. Seems like this is based on an idea of an Episode 3 showdown of it's own.
-
On a sort of side, are you going to use in-game or concept art Atris? Hmm, maybe I should put those KotOR Avatar/logos back into my Pure Pazaak project...you obviously think they're a good idea.
-
I have my final exam in a couple of days so I can continue work on "Pure Pazaak" again. This is probably a little unorthodox, but I'd just like to get an idea on who has an interest in the project at any level; could be people who currently the play the split versions of Pazaak Arcade and Online, or people who want to only try the merged version, etc. This obviously isn't anything as complicated, grand and demanded as the TSL Restoration project. Even if only a couple of people register they are keeping a regular (or not so regular) checks on it's progress, I will gladly finish it, but the idea is that if there is more interest than I anticipated (I won't say what I think...), I'd have motivation to do it, and there'd be merit to release more test versions along the way before the finished thing. btw, some people (probably most from the BioWare forums) would've tried it and perhaps had problems finding people. There have been many suggestions and the most promising one is the Pazaak Cantina Forum suggested/run by Kar-Lo Dunn (and any others who help him). As you can see not much is happening yet, especially since "Pure Pazaak" is not out and "Pazaak Online" is a bit of an antique until I upgrade it into PP. Also, thanks to everyone that plays, has played or even just tried it! btw, for those who are interested would you care if you had KotOR avatars or not? (like in Pazaak Online)

Not going to happen. LucasArts nixed it. I too am assuming you refer to the ending when you say "Wrecked Story" and didn't think anyone still thought that was possible. Ditto, but now LA have to decide how to distribute an easy 1GB+ of data to God knows how many KotOR players without killing the Internet and their own bandwidth. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Some of the options are talked about elsewhere are distributing to other file mirror places (which is done now with smaller patches anyway) like Fileplanet and Filefront. I know this is similar to just pushing off the bandwidth problem to someone else but well, gig of data will take a gig of bandwidth. At least this shares the load a bit. The other option, and quite frankly the best option, is BitTorrent - designed to distribute and ease bandwidth problems. I know Torrent is the nemesis of the MPAA, RIAA and Software companies so I don't expect much, but you can't ignore the fact that others are using it successfully too with those things like IMPS: The Relentless and Revelations fan films.

Most 3rd year University students would have a pretty good idea of what they want to do and would be well on their way to learning it all, but I'm not too sure of myself anymore. I'm a 3rd year "Engineering/Science" combined degree student, and for each part I'm doing "Computer Engineering" (like Digital Systems and electrical based technologies like Networks, etc), "Computer Science" science major and "Mathematics" science co-major. All the software things we are taught all programming principles and mainly generic software skills, like software design techniques, programming structures (trees, lists, hashtables, etc) and optimizing algorithms - all very useful in any software project but I've looked ahead and the only thing related to games specifically is the subject "Artificial Intelligence" (mostly pathfinding). I've also seen how a Games Programmer is also a pretty under-respected/paid job, but at the same time, I enjoy programming more than anything else, yet I can't seem get my head around say modding or writing my own simple game. Where does it look I'm headed? (What's worse is that only "Software Engineering" students get to do the final year real-industry/client projects - I can't because I'm "Computer Eng", and while I like graphics cards , I'm not too interested in hardware in general. Edit: There is a place in Melbourne here called the Academy of Interactive Entertainment which is a game focused school, and the final project there is a game. I'm not too sure what, say a Maths major means for careers, but the problem with the AIE is that it would be too narrow

Note: Don't bother expecting an official content patch OK, so we're waiting for the patch to come out - I'm curious as to what feature people are wanting or needing most. Now I know everyone will want to have everything, and this poll won't reflect it - but I suppose it shows what people find most annoying. Like people who have very few game bugs might find the clipping and distorting music more annoying. Do not worry at how the patch will be distributed either, so if you have a slow connection, don't vote for say Bug/Quest fixes only because it wouldn't be practical downloading a gig of movies or whatever. Vote for your #1 but feel free to post your priority too. Mine would be: 1. Bug/Quest fixes 2. Music 3. Movies (who wouldn't want higher Q, but I don't see a big need to) Try and resist talking about specific problems (unless you are absolutely sure everyone has the same bug). ie, keep this from becoming Tech Support thread. Whoops, forgot to add an OTHER option, even though I can't see any yet
-
They should just release three separate packs. One is the normal game patch with the bugs/quest fixes. The other two are movies and music - these two aren't really patches because they work independently of the game (I think). Everyone - sort of - will be happy.

Across the Stars Character Associations

heh, computer characters don't really have any acting at all - in some ways they can't act cos they loop through the same actions all the time. Ofcourse the VO is really good, but if you wouldn't put together a montage-thingy of Revan/Bastila cos all the scenes would look the same. -
I've only played one game so far, so I won't make vote cos I really wouldn't know which of the remaining two to choose. As my usual 1st game LS, all I can say I won't be voting the option where you keep them alive - brought them all together, expecting some battle plan and final show down, but it all ended rather anti-climatically. Yes, them being sucked out without a fight was unpredictable (which is usually a good thing), but this time around I'd rather have the run of the mill showdown fight. It was like Itchy & Scratchy...& Poochie, but what about the firecracker factory?!

There's a bit of discussion going on among gamers about problems with distributing things like movies and music, but I'm not too sure what is happening within LucasArts. I'm curious to know what progress has been made on the patch? Like are they waiting to fix heaps and heaps of bugs before putting out a massive patch (or use the excuse they're waiting for more bugs so they never release anything).
-
A closer Bastila picture is one of the original box/concept art ones where her hair is "down". Most of you would've seen this - it's not a true look-a-like in the normal sense but I found the resemblence uncanny nevertheless.

This was something that did make me think before. Here are just some of my thoughts (some really without much depth or full considerations so nothing too serious from me): - Planet hopping to do what: I said somewhere else that this is gonna become like a Jackie Chan Adventures, where every season has episodes which are mainly independent from each other in terms of the main quest. Basically it got repetitive and kinda boring overall. I also suggested something like Star Trek: A Final Unity. - Where it is set: Revan is out in the unknown regions and I know nothing is official, but it is kinda hard to have known Star Wars planets but be in the Unknown regions. As a side, does anyone know any well known Outer Rim planets? (Coruscant is popular, even with me but uhh, that's the furthest place from rim) - Revan's Evilness or not: I don't buy the Revan was acting for a greater good type fib, or that he wasn't a Sith, all that sorta stuff. Sith = Evil.

Why is the ending disliked???
dufflover replied to Weaponmaster303's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I found it quite unbelievable that after you crash, you are outside, and there's no indication that you aren't able to check on your party members. It's just doesn't make sense to leave it all like that. They could've at least made the quest text say something like "you've crash landed on Malachor V but you can't find a way back into the ship. you should explore the planet for the time being" (hopefully you get the idea) -
destabilize republic by going against GOTO?
dufflover replied to darth plumpie's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I never trusted G0-T0 anyway (who would?) and to have him being a supporter of the Republic just sounded like a blatant lie. It did remind me a bit of Genoharraden quest from K1, and I found them more believable, although I still thought it was good that I was double-crossed and ended up messing up their whole group. -
At that stage of the game, the cutscene reinforced the view that Kreia was up to something, and that her only reason in helping you was to get back at being exiled herself. From then on I expected the "Double-cross at Nar Shaddaa" (ah, good ol JK1) sort of dealy-thingy. Are you close to finishing the game? Maybe if this thread is still up then you can report back on what you thought afterwards about the cutscene.

Across the Stars Character Associations
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's the main love theme from Episode 2. -
Ever since they used Across the Stars in the K1 trailer I've tended to associate it with Revan/Bastila before remembering Anakin/Padme, so I'm just doing a quick check to see if I'm the only crazy coot who thinks this You can base it on what you think of first, or which couple you think it matches best. My assumption with Exile/Atton is that people would have thought about the cut Atton death scene thingy. Well, like I said above, Revan/Bastila for me. That quest and the music both go up-down-up in that moody sorta way, while Anakin/Padme go down - and stays that way.
-
In that case most of your probably would've like the original JK1. It had the same theme as Outcast, but a lot more alleyways and corridors, plus (despite the fact it's old not very supportive of mass populations) some bystanders. If I remember JO was all alien thugs right? It was also open, but mainly on the roof-tops, and one thing I remember was an entire roof-top opening and 8T-88 escaping on a shuttle. I doubt that could happen in KorOR though since the levels are supposed to be mainly static.

How about a new ship in KOTOR 3
dufflover replied to mrchallenge's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I know this would cause hell for gameplay mechanics (mainly party switching) but what about a home base planet rather than a home ship. Maybe something the size of Yavin station (and just as remote so whatever enemy they use they can't find you). And when you travel, you travel in a small shuttle or something. I was originally thinking of something like Kyle Katarn's ship (the "somthing" Crow) or the ship used to travel to Dxun. Only problem is that warping party members in and out now will seem more stupid than ever but hey, maybe people won't be so picky about it.
