That's an understatement . Learn to relax and BAM!!!

The Wiki's are usually too deep for me. I'm not saying it's not accurate, but all these backstories to nearly everything just over-does it for me. There are heaps of situations, but just as an example of the page that's open infront of me right now: I can see where they are coming from but this particular person has overdone it a tad. I guess it's similar to how everything must have a purpose or deeper meaning, like people suspicious of the Auto-print person on Tatooine. Double-blade is a sign they are more skilled, powerful, but other than that, stuff like arrogance and Dark Side just seem to over do it.

I haven't seen any recent pictures of her, but what about Kate Mulgrew for Kreia. She's that Captain from I think Star Trek Voyager with the annoying voice that I remember as sounding very similar to Kreia. I haven't seen any pictures of the original VO person so if she's old enough she could it herself - all you mainly see is her hair/chin.

Do you think Kotor Was A waste?
dufflover replied to DARTHPON's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I take this mainly asking about K2. Well I don't regret buying it. Yes there were big disappointments but it nevertheless took up gaming time and was pretty good - granted sometimes I would play without thinking cos I just lost the story. -
Well obviously the cut content would be different and the scene between Handmaiden and Visas wouldn't happen cos she's dead. On that front we'll never know...

I suppose my Pure Pazaak breaks a few copyright rules too, although I don't think it matters much cos it won't cost them anything.
-
The laws vary from country to country but the basic rule people use is that you can make a backup copy of something you own. I can sorta see how it's a "copy" of KotOR 2 but that's it. It's a different copy (PC), and not a backup that you're making.

Hi everyone. Thanks for trying - sorry for the mess ups. I'll cover all the current issues all at once. Actually I was sleeping (although I am busy cos Semester 2 Uni starts tomorrow). I uploaded the game at 1:30am...but yay! I'm awake again ... I was going to include that with the ZIP file but took it out at the last minute since I wasn't sure if it was needed by everyone or not (and may cause conflicts), but I did add it to the support downloads section - doesn't seem to any harm in including it there - I'll add it to the ZIP file soon. I know what has happened, but I don't know why . At this stage I can think of two possibilities: 1. Your data file is corrupted (the .dat file) - try a redownload 2. Your system/OS or ... something, is not compatible with the way it loads graphics but again I have no reasons why. I can sorta see that ur on WinXP, so unless the VB Run-times you have are corrupted, you SHOULDN'T need to get that (if they were corrupted it probably wouldn't run at all). Send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll send u this test project u can use (it will see if you can load graphics from the file in general) - this is a toughie...sorry You're talking about the turn system (like who goes first and does it change): Website: in Network play the option is forced (but won't overwrite your saved option) into K2 Alternating. And just incase you were talking about interface, it doesn't matter either - person using K1 Appearance can play with K2 appearance. Nice to see no-one has tried K2 Interface + Network play on a 1024x768 screen. Does anyone have a problem with all these questions going into the Help/FAQ page? Does anyone WANT their name after their questions on that page? Thanks for playing and hope u have fun.

Pure Pazaak is a standalone Pazaak clone I've made designed to be as close as possible to in-game KotOR Pazaak with some more flexibility and enhancements. People who have tried its predecessors Pazaak Arcade and Pazaak Online will know what it's like. Main Features: - Standalone: Play Pazaak without having starting all of KotOR, or even needing it installed. A good "quick-start" alternative to, say, Solitaire. - Human vs Human Network Play: Probably the biggest starter reason for making Pazaak Online was to be able to play against a Human rather than a "cheating" computer. Ofcourse the computer apparently never cheated but at least now you can accuse your real-life opponent of cheating... - More Flexible/Customizable, such as K1 or K2 appearance, turn mode or muting that "pling" turn/card sound (I personally leave it on " ) - Non-cheating AI: It's up to you whether you believe the Devs or not but I give you an iron-clad garuntee that there is no bias, cheating, peeking or rigged draws. - A "different" opponent: The Campaign starts off very easy with the very very easy Deadeye Duncan, but as you go through unlocked opponents will slowly have better decks; ranging from an even collection of starter cards all the way to Doubles, 1+-2's, 3&6 Inverters and Tie Breakers. Most people hate Pazaak for various reasons. If you hate it because the AI cheated and you lost so much; give this a go - Deadeye Duncan is unloseable (unless ur really unlucky) If you thought it was boring and not worth the effort; play a game every once in a while. The game runs at a faster pace. You can even win sets without clicking the mouse! You may or may not believe me here, but I am not a very big fan of Pazaak - the only time I play in KotOR is against Suvam Tan and the most of the K2 people on my first game (cos I look for free items). Anyway, the point here is that you might find this to be different, hopefully better but also perhaps worse. Give my AI a run-down and tell me what you think! Quick Legal Mumbo Jumbo: - All this stuff is copyright LucasArts, Bioware, Obsidian, (blah blah blah). My point is that although the logic, design, etc are all done by me, the pics, concept and stuff are from the game. If you find a bug, have any comments or suggestions, feel free to post it here.

to not make KotOR 3 doesn't make sense cos there's still good money to be made. -
Should Lightsabre colour crystals give bonuses?
dufflover replied to Darth_Windu's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The idea is alright but I that'd be trying *too hard* to make everything have some sort of signifance. I'm not sure if this is a good example, but think about in K!, that guy on Tatooine who asks for your autoprint from Swoop Racing. -
Pure Pazaak WIP Screenshots (16 July)
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm not too fond of how there's no news on the K2 patch, and it's made me relise how important bits of news are. For those of you waiting for Pure Pazaak, it's release is close... It's now into the final testing stage - I'm not a pro-programmer, nor do I try to be (real program testing usually takes ages). So there will no doubt be lots of bugs - hopefully not as embarassing as K2 but at least they won't be so complicated to fix. I'll make a new thread when it is out and ready for download. -
just have it included in the restoration project when it's done

What's wrong with a simple (I didn't think it was so Black and White) story? K2's deep story line screwed itself over. It was more engaging but was also alienating too.

With so many bugs why do people think this would be so hard to believe? -
KotOR II - Was it an 'Expansion Pack'?
dufflover replied to a topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's one of my main criteria too. (Uhh, does it *really* matter if it was an expansion pack or not). Although I was kinda suprised that C&C Generals Zero Hour Expansion seems like a stand-alone (it apparently still needs C&C Generals but it's size makes it look like a standalone expansion). Another example of this is Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith. Even material wise, K2 has enough to be it's own game. -
KotOR II - Was it an 'Expansion Pack'?
dufflover replied to a topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Expansion pack, no. This poll would've been suited for Jedi Academy though. Expansion packs usually continue the story, but K2 was designed to be on it's own. In general Obsidian/LA got themselves into a ditch by trying to make a game continue the K1 story yet not have the requirement for people to have played it. -
It's better cos that's where it comes from. Some of K2's good points come from the feedback of K1 - so if K2 didn't have those enhanced features (like Influence or quick-weapon switch) then...welll, it would've said something bad about Obisidian and LucasArts. Granted, they don't seem to listen much now anyway -
-
If I was to do that I wouldn't be playing any games for like 5 years...
-
One of the reasons why K2 was a bit "mincy" with the story was cos it had to not rely too much on knowing about K1. Same could be asked about say, the Rakata as well. I agree with the G0-T0/Remote, especially when even if the animation was done properly was weird cos you go talk and "it never happened".

Where to get Music from the game?
dufflover replied to SniperRu's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In the KotOR folders go to the StreamMusic folder to find the music MP3's. These will not play in Windows Media Player but they will play in WinAmp and Media Player Classic (probably more but I know it works on these). I think the K2 Ruins track is "The Jedi Theme" and the K1 track is "The Sith Theme". Obviously the filenames aren't exactly that but should have words like Sith, Jedi and abbreviations and stuff in the filename. -

Wow! People actually go to the website (w00t) ! You'd probably hear about it first here (like in my sig and a new topic announcement), but should be on the website very soon after too. I guess it depends on when I finish cos I've only got a week left of Uni Semester holiday left . -
Apparently the next gen consoles (XBox 360 and PS3) will have graphics power (talking about the final speed/design, not the graphics chip alone) equal to a future "R600" ATI Chip. Ofcourse since the R520 isn't out yet can't really tell for sure. The sooner it comes out, the sooner I can download a pre-rendered version of that movie!

dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Whoops, sorry bout the website/file links! I'm a bit confused at what you think is available. There is: Pazaak Online v1.3.3 Pazaak Arcade v1.0.0 + 1.0.1 Update Very early test version Pure Pazaak with a crummy K2 look All GUI related things in the game, like the card screens, alignments, and stuff are finished, so that K2 look will be missing a few things. The best thing to get atm would be Pazaak Arcade. -
I got the ATI X800XL cos it performs at basically an equal level (win there, lose there, etc) with 6800GT but for $150 AU less. I admit that ATI's have a bigger reputation with drivers, although I haven't had a bad experience in my 2 days yet. lol. Besides, ATI Ruby canes that Mermaid...now if only Bastila was rendered like that, my wallpaper would change instantly.
